Well I used my Jun Prelude which was only 446pp with 269hp and I thiugh what a joke this will be.

One great car and would like to own one. I will have to see on line the story of this car and if they still make them. Glad to see that your doing cockpit view.

As far as I know it was never produced, just a proto. Should be explained in the car description (sorry, not in front of my PS3). I love cockpit view too, but I'm damn slow with it .

Used the Subaru S206 NRB for a very easy win. Took first place by end of 2nd lap, putting laps of 2.44-2.46. AWD at 50:50, all aids off. Guess where I'll be for a while!!! Grind grind grind!!
I used the S206 too, straight from the Tsukuba time trial, reset the suspension and threw on the wet tyres. Didn't take the F40 rabbit until half way on lap 3 though.

That's exactly what I did too - straight from Tsukuba!! Can't remember the rabbit but it definitely wasn't the F40. I think I added some ballast too to make the weight 50:50.👍

I still had the diff set at 25:75, full weight reduction and the power down to 90%. All aids were off too. Was good in the corners but lacking speed on the straights as gearbox cant be changed.

I've had several guys PM me about my ZZII tune, so I'll post it here. I think it started as a Priano tune, then I added some of my own changes, then back again, the some Exeter bits, and some more of my own, and maybe back again...I honestly can't remember. Priano and Exeter FTW. There you go.

Ok, I got bored today so I tried the tail-happy RUF Yellowbird. Spent a good couple of hours getting used to one particular field and maximizing apex speed, acceleration and braking zones with all aids and SRF off, and developing a tune to counter issues that arise on the track.

The result:

YAY!!!!:):gtpflag:

I remained within the track limits following the F1 rules for the 3 laps and no penalties were incurred. No corners were cut. I have saved the replay should anyone wish to see it (via email from the saved game data etc).

Here's the tune I ended up with. A GTP tuner would probably cry at such a travesty (as is my tuning skills:dunce::dopey:) but it got me the win with a DS3 stick controller.

Ballast 200kg
Position -50%
Weight reduction Stage 3 - this combined with the ballast gave me a weight ratio of 50/50:tup:

TC 0 - Careful acceleration - avoid wheelspin.
ABS 0 - tires would screech when braking but turn-in grip when brakes were released was superb and allowed for high corner entry speeds - especially La Source and Rivage. Also used cadence braking in the early stages of braking at high speed - Kemmel and bus stop chicane.

Laps:
1. 2:52.278
2. 2:51.489
3. 2:49.841 (This lap was my fastest for the whole 2 hours! I whittled it down from 2.56.xxx!)

This was worse than the Sierra Expert race!!:banghead::grumpy::scared: Or should I say 'better than the Sierra Expert race'!!!!

I recommend the RUF to the forum - if not for the win, then for simple out and out FUN!!!

I'm actually faster using the in car view with all race information turned off. It's nice to add a boost gauge on occasion also. If gran turismo 7 comes out in my lifetime I'd like to see adjustability in the in car view so you can wear helmet, lean and look through turns like you can in project cars.

A 3 second penalty for overestimating my brakes on lap 1, a 10 second penalty for a car hitting ME and I geared too high, still got 2nd with my Scirocco by 1.550 on my 1st try. I know I could have used an AWD but it was only 500PP, and I like my Praiano tuned VW, hehe. I really thought it would handle better than they make it out to do. I know my '85 Dodge Charger Shelby turbo was awesome in the rain with small 235/50/ZR15 "Gatorbacks" With rain slicks it would have said "What water?"

No way these physics are more realistic than past GTs. It's certainly not close to real life. BTW That car should be on here, or at least the Charger 2.2, they were the most fun FWD cars of the 80's.

Edit: Won by 7.551 on 2nd try :)

I'm having some trouble with the RWD cars. AWD is a piece of cake, but my trusty Subaru BRZ is killing me. I seem to have entered Spin City... It's times like this that I wish I could tune - I'm just so awful at tuning out issues.
Shotaliema BRZ If you don't have tune on your cat put it on and go win. As posted it can do 2:152:00 @ Tokyo R245 and 2:001:20 ish at midfield without breaking a sweat.

Edit corrected lap times. :embarrassed:

Yeah, my RGT was pretty touchy, too. I ended up tweaking the brake balance to 6/4 and that seemed to help a little.

Speaking of which... it's story time!

Again! ;)

On my second (third?) full attempt of the night, after a few quick resets, I was doing pretty well, really babying the gas, brakes, and steering (especially the brakes, though).

But, on lap 2, for no apparent reason, the back end came loose around 3/4 of the way through the lap...

...and I was into the wall. Fortunately, it wasn't too crazy of a crash (no spinning, no need to reverse)...

...and I was able to rejoin pretty quickly after doing a little off-roading.

At the end of lap 2, I caught up to the Viper at the final chicane. Yep, you can probably guess where this is going, since I did the same dumb 🤬 yesterday.

D'oh.

In my defense, the Viper was going pretty dang wide. A pass on the inside wasn't that crazy.

And I ended up passing it before the next turn pretty easily (and cleanly).

Then I just had the GT-R left to go. Ended up pass it without much trouble, either, midway through lap 3.

For a rather comfortable win:

I might do it again with a AWD car, just to see how it goes. Maybe my RS6 sedan or the RS6 Avant that I won here.

Or I could detune the RUF CTR2. Hmm...

Anyway, it definitely felt more like a rain race than I remember most GT6 rain races. Well, what I imagine they're like, what with the crashing and having to actually drive differently. Still, while Spa's a great track, it might've been nice to see an event like this somewhere we haven't done a rain race at yet.

Thanks @Otaliema! I will definitely give that BRZ tune a try. I absolutely love the BRZ/FRS/86 in this game...I own several of each, so I can always use a new tune for one of the tabs. 👍

EDIT: This Corvette Z06 (C5) '00 tune by @Rooky Balboa is fantastic! I've used the 500PP setup for both the Intermediate and Expert Level seasonal events. I was amazed at how well the grip was in the soaking wet weather at Spa-Francorchamps. I experienced a little wheel spin here or there, but nothing enough to make me panic. A great overall tune.
