WHAT THE HECKING HECK?

RocZX, more info on that? That thing looks waaaaaaaaaaay legit, down to the wheels.

EDit: The top is too high nah? For being, if it is, a repro body, it is incredibly well made. The wheels might be the real deal.

The only info I can find is from this site- http://indafoto.hu/Nylon/image/13636143-3aadd27e/user (it's in Hungarian) if you translate it the same person says that "It's just a chassis!"

That last picture is way, way sad.

Anyway, I finally received both "The cobra in the Barn" and "The Hemi in the barn". I've taken a quick peek inside both and read a few chapters. Awesome reading. I can't believe the number of Cobras chronicled. I can't also believe the number of stories I already knew. Freakish.

Also, content:

This car is unsurmountably cool, got dammit.

this would make a killer restoration project.

NOOOOO DUDE YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG!!!

A car like that doesn¿t get restored!! You just sort out the mechanics, pump up the tires, replace the battery, clean the glass, JUST the glass, and drive it JUST AS IT IS, 40-year-old dust and all. A car THAT original has to be left untouched.

, that would be fine. I should have elaborated on the restoration part ... my bad. What I meant to say was to restore it as it sits now, in race trim, not as an original '57. Bring back a piece of nostalgia racing for the masses.

That Sports 800... :(

A couple days ago, my brother showed me the way he normally takes to get to the place I work at (he worked there before me, but then left). And along the way he showed me this really cool junkyard that had some cars that seemed to only be 60s or earlier. Didn't get a good look, but I'm pretty sure one of the vehicles there was a Studebaker Champ. Will do my best to find some time to stop by and get pictures.

Some I found on this Japanese blog:

Am I going mad or is the Mercedes in the first picture a different car to the one at auction?

They are two different cars, the one in the first pic (old pic) is from 1954 but the one that is being auctioned looks like a '55.

Im betting one of the high bidders for that thing will be the Mercedes Museum. That is incredible.

Original unrestored race car with just a little patina?
And in good working order.Amazing.
Maybe it hasn't race too much.
I hope Mercedes buys and races it instead of disapearing
for another 30 years in some private collection.

Beta, yes.

also, have some wagons. Some of these are achingly painful:

All those wagons... :(

My brother had to borrow my car today and drop me off at work, so I asked if we could at least get a picture outside the place on the way. Best I could get without entering the area, but as I'm told, there are more cars in the back.
