What about the male who is responsible for helping create the baby? Wht wouldn't he have a say (assuming he's still around)?

I'll keep it short because I don't want to get the co moderator mad again. I agree with the above statement.
When have I been angry? And why would I ask you to keep it short? By all means please take all the length you wish to explain your position.

And I've already volunteered to be removed as co-moderator of this board, in the other thread. If you've got a problem with my actions as a moderator, tell me, any of the other mods, or Jordan. If you don't, drop it already.

I like to emphasize my written words the way I would if we were having a face-to-face conversation. It's one small way to break down the impersonality of this medium.

Well, mostly men have replied to this thread. ;)

I would think (and this is only a guess) that most women, while horrified by the idea of having an abortion, think that it should be legal for those cases where it may be deemed necessary. Basically, if their (or someone else's) life were threatened by it and the like.

It's just wrong. It's an act of Criminal Negligence(whatever that means).:)

It's totally wrong. Sex Is alright. If you are ready to take on the challenges of being a father and or a mother.

C and D) What if the mother is put in the position where the husband (weirdly but possiblly enough) REFUSES the let the mother contact an abortion agency?

I thought that the best adoptions are done right after birth, so that way the mother doens't become as attached as she would if she were with the child longer.(Keep in mind, this is used to protect the child, not to hurt the birth parents)

Adoption is always an option. And as far as to who got Abortion legal, I don't know her name, but I did see her on the news the other night. Guess what she's trying to do now? She regrets what she did and want to correct it. Or in other words, she trying to make it illigal. Ironic, huh?:odd:

I totally agree. I mean, I'm sorry, but if you don't have enough common sense to understand that Unprotected Sex = Baby, then you should be shot.

Don't have sex if you don't want a child.

Nice way of putting it. That basically sums it up.

I strongly urge you to look up the word "ironic" in the dictionary.

I bet they'll show you, yeah.

single celled organisms and jelly fish function with no brains......

Yes, and they're every bit as complex as humans.

EXACTLY if the heart beat is the last thing before death then it should also be considered the one of the FIRST things to come for life.......

Fine. Let's remove your brain and see how you do.

We don't have enough females, vat_man. Plus, we all know what's going to happen. The right-wing Christians are going to give their borderline abusive, controlling viewpoint, at which point milefile and maybe Duke will intervene and tell them that they just want to interfere with culture and that they thing they know what's best for everybody, at which point the Christians will repeat the same facts again, angering milefile until it gets vaguely personal at which point they'll all realise they have nothing to discuss, because nobody's actually changing their viewpoint no matter how obviously neon_duke puts it, or how well Gil simplifies it so even the stupidest idiot can understand exactly the point he's trying to make without even guessing.

   Good logic there. I thought the whole point of being against abortion was to NOT kill someone. Make up your mind.

I know, but think about it. We're out numbered a million to one a far as stupid people come. If we just got rid of all those people with no sense what so ever, then this world would be a better place. :D
I had a neighbor at my old house, and she fits the above description perfectly. She 1) never finished Highschool, 2) Had her first child at 17, 3) She 25 and has going on 7 kids, 4) She has had 3 miscarriages, 5) Her father has taught her that women shouldn't go to collage (He should be shot....) and that they belong "Bare-foot, pregnant, and in the kitchen."

Now, no, she has never had an abortion (which is good) But her husband also just lost his job and then they decided to put in a $3000 Pool! You can't say there's something wrong with this!

There are always going to be stupid people in the world. What's your point? Everyone knows this. Your "story" has no point, either. Maybe your neighbor should've had an abortion so she wouldn't carry on all those stupid genes of hers.

I know that there will always be stupid people...I was just doing a little wishful thinking...
It's terrible...honestly...those poor poor kids.....

TarnishedAngel - Regarding your posts, you do realize that there is still a possibility of getting pregnant even with protection, right?

I totally agree with what Jonathan said. End of story.

You load the gun, and I'll pull the trigger. Then we can shove a text book from the Air Force Academy down his throat. ;)

Ok, so why am I paying for something I don't believe in ?
Was it the same law or was another law introduced that states that taxes are to pay for abortions?

I think anything that's considered "federal" (example: Hospitals, fire fighters, construction work) by the government, taxes go to. If the government supports it financially, we the people support it financially. Unfortunately, whether we agree to it or not.

Well that sucks!

I must be stupid person too then ! 4 kids by aged 24, 1st baby at 16, I'm now 28, but am happy to have got it over with I can be a glamourous granny at least!

I'm against abortion as a contraception (hence the 4 kids already! ) That doesn't make me a stupid person though does it ? And when I look at my kids I don't think oh look what I did when I was stupid, no I feel proud to have created such smart arses :)

There is also a lot of good reasons for having an abortion (all of which have been mentioned) You shouldn't tarnish peole like that TarnishedAngel .

Abortion should remain legal IMO, otherwise your taking away a persons choice . As for the poll ...I'm a bit in the middle so I won't vote .
