Heres me an action, a comparison between the wheel(G25) and the Sixaxis..

Wheel: http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=5AaxMro14os
Sixaxis: http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=57tjsygUxBE

You can see the difference in styles and times easily.

Only going to be more fun with ABS off, imagine how in the Vid of me using the controller will go..
I could go way faster than you with a wheel. It seemed to me you were too slow in may corners with the wheel, as well with the controller. I always push in GT as hard as I can and it's great fun and beautiful clean driving(with some unexpected exceptions :D). That's true to LFS too. In GTR and Race 07 for example I can't push it that confidently because I don't feel the car right, it's like I'm floating rather than driving. But you were tooo slow, can I ask you, do you play GTR2, rFactor on the PC?

P.S. And there's no problem with the controller to brake as long as the brake button is analogue. Just don't press it hard. Actually that's ironical I think the square button does a better job simulating the real brake than those pedals from Logitech. It actually "has" resistance. :)

My experience with the wheel, I improved my lap times by 4 seconds since its a lot more natural for me to use a wheel. :)

BTW recalling the subject about the TCS adjustment in real cars. As someone mentioned already a M5 should have it and I also remember a review I have seen of Ferrari F430, it also has different settings of TCS- 5 settings on the wheel itself! Do you rememeber? Here it is.

I think the pad will always be faster for skilled players. But its massively more fun with a wheel so I am sticking to that :)
It differs from person to person. My GT4 times improved when I got my DFP.

Same here With my DFP I improved by 4 seconds the most at some laps, I'm not ganna even mention how great improved to THE RING track ;)
DFP was my first wheel, and Since then I'll never race with a controller in SIM games.

Yea, but there is also a problem with the wheel I have came across with. A steering wheel exhausts much you more than a controller would, but the fun is really unparallel. After long playing sessions with the wheel I feel like half-dead, but yet happy and delighted. lol

You can turn down the feedback.

But then the stress of dealing with the feedback is realistic.

Edit: With tuned cars, like those from Amuse or Blitz I'm not sure. Don't know, if some of them have ABS disabled.

the blitz dunlop ER34 wouldn't have ABS. drifting with it on would make it near impossible nomura ken to do braking drifts and the car it's self would suck.

not sure about amuse

Mate, I am average to poor at GT, I accepted this a long time ago, and I don't care if your faster. I posted those videos to basically show how braking chances for me between the wheel and controller, I think with ABS braking with controller like I do will become an issue, might be right with a wheel.

And no, I do not play GTR and Race 07 on PC.

So, as it says - ABS is R.I.P. Tires/wheels are FINALLY having 100% lock-up when braking and the game is feeling as it have always should in that department.

I take it back PD, and thanks Amar.

Wow.. this is going to change my driving style quite a bit. Right now, my current top method of passing AI is to outbrake them in corners, by braking late and hard. I guess that's done with now, I'll have to come up with something else.. hehe.

you can still do that, the difference is you need to find the point for each car where hard becomes lock up, and just push it to just before that point. i think it will be alot harder with the controller but easier with a wheel and pedals

The GTR R35 without the update (ABS at "0" though) is already tough to tame on HSR when braking for turns...this is going to make things VERY interesting

Will also make brake bias adjusments a lot more meaningful and with greater impact while driving. 👍

I wonder if this means that flat spotting a tire will be taken into account for tire wear?

I have found that you don't need to brake at all for any turn with a wall at HSR. I was being lazy today beating b class :P

I hope the online make diference rankings for ABS and no ABS use (similar than the professional and standart physics ones). It must be diferent so for tuned or not modified cars.

I don't think it will be because it is a setting similar to downforce. As it is a degree setting and not just an on or off thing it is a personal driving preference. Some people will be able to drive better with ABS and some without. Just like some do better with different gearing setups.

Yeah, but surely when private races are available, a person will be able to make his race exclude ABS?

I don't know. It seems like that would be the same as saying you have to have TCS and ASM set to zero as well.

And since ABS is supposed to be part of the real-time telemetry setting I don't know how you can force people not to switch it on mid-race.

I turned ABS OFF and set other aids off then I tried a few runs with GT40 LM in S class last race (suzuka with tuned cars). it was really fun with g25. without ABS it is the real deal.but I guess AI was racing ABS on. this is very unfair. and I think most people wont turn it off in online gaming. thatswhy we need private races.

Hi :)

How can y put off the ABS system? In what menu??

I have downloaded Spec II too :sly:

Thanks for the response :)

How have to unlock quick tuning by beating A,B and C class events (offline)

OR

map the realtime adjustments to a controller and turn ABS off during the race.

Personally I only turn ABS off on cars that did not have ABS in real life.
