Well I used all my 55 stocked fuels today, Mercenary Contract and Additional Plant Investment contracts engaged, forced sorties, and I only got to 900th in the rankings, i.e. not nearly enough to stay in the top 1000. But that's OK, the tournament wasn't my real agenda. I just wanted to get some cash up and go further along the research tree in preparation for the update and what it will bring. I didn't get as far along the research tree as I thought I would but I've made major progress.

Also........I got the F-15C PIXY!!!!

Edit: Actually I lied a little bit. I started with 52 stocked fuels and 3 supplied, but got quite a few extra stocked fuels in random drops through the day, I'd say around 5-10 extra stocked fuels, including challenge completions.

Edit 2: Did my last couple sorties, finished 884th, still not enough to finish inside the top 1000 by tomorrow afternoon, and I won't get another chance to sortie before tournament's end.

I had hoped making mention of the amount of fuel I used would help alleviate my leaving you out in the Pixy cold.
Also, checking the rankings today, I finished 1300-something, and rank 1000 was 40k points ahead of me! Put simply, I'd have needed close to or more than 100 units of fuel to get that Su-37!!!!!!!

The Yellow 13 is essentially a better T50, I'm sure it's the definitive fighter (until they release Mobius 1).
I'll post some pics with loadouts soon, plus, Yellow 13 should be given just before the maintenance so I should be able to fly it a little bit.

Just one question... How many fuel units did you burn in total to get the Yellow 13 Sukhoi? I'm curious to know this...

As for me, I was not insane enough to try this. Anyway, I have not enough time and fuel to do this.

I use the last-day strategy to burn fuel and this is probably the last time I do this since the amount of sortie to do was huge in this kind of tournament, the Black Hornet was a walk in the park...(during the week I play just with the regular supplied, so it's like less than 1 hour per day)
I've done probably over 120 sorties, 30€ dropped for a 60 pack. (and I still think is a bit of a waste but I'm in a huge debt with namco, I played 4,5 and zero completely for free...)
As I said I score 1,1K ranking pts/sortie, playing in HIGH MR rooms
(because an S rank and a team victory is far more important than scoring MVP if you want to get good ranking pts!)
Seal clubbing is useful in TDM, useless in co-op, unless you can take care about tons of targets...the final result as a team counts more in terms of score.
4 player rooms are better just because you can reduce the amount of "stolen targets", the ranking pts seems to consider "how far you are from the MVP in terms of points?" not "how many points you've got?".
In TDM seal clubbing is the key, if you score 30K pts, you'll get a bit less than 30k ranking pts, you can even get 0 pts!
Last one is easier to get on top 1'000, co-op are just insane....
Luckly I can consider myself a skilled veteran pilot so this helps me to reduce the fuel usage.

443 sorties, 44'492 avg pts/sortie, 93'654 maximum.
Overall (I play regularly since day 1):
673 sorties-165 times MVP
current MR 1882
maximum MR 1894

Other than the beginner's pack with the campaign pass I haven't spent any money on fuel, I just hadn't used any gift fuel in a really long time.

Last day to get the F-16C -Libra- (22/09 to 30/09)... And I got it right now gg.

According to the wikia, from 3/10 to 14/10 there will be a lot of droppable aircrafts:
- F-5E -Shin Kazama-
- F-14A -Mickey Simon-
- A-10A -Greg Gates-
- AV-8B+ -Kim Aba-
Along with Area 88 collaboration event, which will have F-20A -Sin Kazama- as reward.

So we can say almost for sure that the update will bring also base F-5 and F-20 on the game, as there are special editions of them.

Unless top 3'000 or 5'000 (I don't even think so) I won't go for this F-20.
My prophecy was right, those will be random drops but 11 days won't be enough to get all of them without burning stocked fuel...and I don't really care about Area 88 aircrafts!
Plus the maintenance will bring some great new stuffs!
Anyway, we need more skin and emblems, unless you want to go full replica you can't really customize your plane as you wish...

Hey, you're not the only one. I understand how you feel.

I didn't get the Zipang, the F-15C Pixy and the F-16 Libra. And somehow my research on certain parts is always below 25%.

2 x Elite Merc and 2 x Additional Research contracts with forced sorties over the weekend has caused the aircraft tree in my Russian plane account to get up to ~95% completion (until the update hits). Managed to pimp out a Berkut to level 10 with level 5 UGBs too so all in all a very productive weekends play.

Shame the Low Viz Aquila emblem doesn't have the yellow missile smoke tied to it. Supposedly it will be tied with a logo that you get for buying the soundtrack :/

Done a quick sortie with this bird too, I was half asleep and a high-end fighter got all my targets but I must say it's a badass LVL 1 aircraft.
And you have the "end-game" multirole as well now, that's quite impressive
Also, during the tournament, for the very first time I've spotted a strigon Su-33 and for the second time a Ridgeback multirole...
How many special planes you've got now?

p.s. I don't know why but this thing feels quite special when you fly it, very happy I own one of these even if in terms of money It took me 30€

Trying to gather motivation to dl the EU version so I can buy fuel units at some point.. Since the amount provided by the missions without using the forced sortie etc is just insufficient to play the game.

Literally finished on 150th place . I've been doing a lot of fuel saving for a rainy day and the weekend that's just passed happened to be one! The last 45 minutes of the tournament was hectic since I thought everyone from 160 to 200 will make a mad push for the finish. Thank goodness they didn't! Haven't managed to test what songs the emblems play but at least one of them is "sessions" from AC4.

The Berkut is quite fun with the UGBs. Need a lot of L upgrade parts and some practise against SMTDs though because those planes are super-quick!

I've been lucky enough to get all the drop planes (maybe Project Aces felt sorry for me not being able to play more than 6 games a day on each account ) but this is the first tournament plane I've got my hands on. So happy . Still hoping for some special smoke for the low viz emblem though but knowing PA...

Same here, and, according to the wikia this tournament (Area 88) will last more then 10 days!
I really hope is just because there are like 4 new aircrafts or a bunch of emblems to win but those kind of tournaments are unusustainable, the gap grows a lot during forced sortie and I don't like Area 88 that much to actually go "nuclear" on this one...so just bare supplied fuel.
The new team deathmatch naval fleet assault is what my black hornet is waiting for, and I can't really wait to try the last mission!
I really, really hope Mobius 1 will not be just his canon F-22, is not that different from a regular F-22 and I'm not a big fan of the Raptor (it's just too popular among players), so I hope to see his iconic F-15.

If like Yellow tournament I will aim for top 1K, the regular roundel+isaf+F-22 mobius will be fine. Only time we'll tell us...

the maintenance is a bit of a pain in the butt, but seems like previous tournament rewards will be posted again in the future, probably in the same way.

I downloaded the Area 88 manga and Anime. I finished what I had available in the manga. I say that because apparently the manga was never finished in terms of story. And there's no hope of it finishing since the last chapter was in '86 I Believe. And let me tell you the story is quite good and amps up as it goes on with entwining stories.
And as such I'll be gunning for those planes now. Hopefully the F-20 for Shin is awesome. I always started my AC games with an F-20A once I got rid of the F5-E. Always a good fighter. And if it lives up to Shin's skill level it will be great. Same thing with the Mickey's F-14A...

I'm gonna guess that the F-20A will be an award in the tournament (Sadly) as it seems by the trailer. The other planes look to be drops. But hopefully people are a little drained from Yellow 13 and I may have a chance.



And for the record that new moscow mission looks fun. Hopefully we get to fight some laser UAV's online. That could be fun. And the new Team Deathmatch sounds interesting too! I will give PA this, They may not manage stuff too well but they make some good gameplay.
