Looks like still enough fuel left that top 1,000 should be on with still some fuel for the piston drive event... whether enough for a free plane we'll see. A few less people burning tons of fuel due to needing an F-14 for this one, good for those that wasted a bunch of money on a Tomcat all along . Pretty sick of B7R by now for sure despite getting pretty lucky with people on other maps willing to use multiroles and attackers for me. Pixels event is pretty much just for whatever non-movie stuff comes with each challenge.

I did a small burn which placed placed me just inside the top 2000 today. I've only got a Jolly Rogers on level 6, so I'm getting hammered everywhere which isn't a lot of fun.

Finished 750ish in the F-14 event. A bit nervous going to bed last night with 4 hours to go and a 16,000 point lead on rank 1,000 as fast as the 1,000 score kept going up. Rank 1,000 gained 10,000 points on me overnight but I only dropped about 100 spots.

It was probably a complete waste of all the money I made but I leveled up my F-14A two more times(after giving it a level at the start) so it is now level 15, about 1670 cost, has acceleration, pitch and roll all L parts and is 2 sorties away from fitting homing L alongside the propulsion L and ammo/reload M parts on it. I also upgraded all my special F-14s once or twice and bought all the other special planes I had been given but hadn't gotten around to buying.

I was considering keeping the money or spending a bit less to upgrade the Fencer-D until I saw that level 15 gives you an extra expansion slot. Got a nickname too. My MR shot up over 100 points to peak at 1815 after 2 weeks of constantly using one of my best planes - which is probably now my single best plane until I boost up the Terminator some more.

No, I didn't know that as I never had a Wii. I just did a quick search on the game, and it seems like something I would enjoy.

The mechanic that Project Aces put in with the piston planes has canon-machine gun combo. All four of the planes that have been revealed utilize this feature. I believe they did this to show the damage difference between lets say a .50 cal. MG and a 20 mm canon.

I seriously doubt the ballistics were modeled for all the various bullet types so I am curious to how Project Aces is going to handle that (see below)...

I saw this coming and I am glad that this is official. Is it safe to say that Piston Planes will only be able to play with other WWII era birds? Not interested in seeing me flying a P-38 and having to contend with someone flying an X-02.

They can play with jets, but devs added the:

Prop planes come with new plane parts for their engine and machine guns.
The default special weapon is ECM and with upgrading you can unlock rockets and bombs.
You can choose between machine guns and cannons, or fire both of them.
The planes and parts are quick to develop and cheap to buy. Already got all of them.

Tornado comes with an air-to-ground cruise missile.

Nosferatu has almost the same stats as Night Raven and probably costs millions.

Proper use of machine guns and canons is going to be key in the Piston TDM.

I have been experimenting with the various parts to determine my tactics for the P-38L.

It's way more fun to destroy an enemy with your guns, you need to be precise, take quick decisions and act really fast, not like spamming missiles and circling around like an idiot...

I didn't seem to have time to use stocked fuel tonight, and my 3 supplied weren't enough to get a prop plane (maybe I should have researched them all at once ). The addition of WWII planes to the Ace Combat franchise does have me excited for the ideas of what could be possible on a PS4 Ace Combat though.
Tomorrow or at some point I'll plan on using a bunch of stocked fuel in the tournament to ensure top 3000 on the special Spitfire.
