Adjusting FOV/Camera using the Multi-screen options

Yeah, I see that makes no difference. That's rather disappointing, because I can't drive from cockpit view in GT5 due to how restrictive that view is.

Me too.

I have problems with almost every camera view.

Bumper: too low to the ground. I need to be up higher to see the turn/whatever may be happening ahead like an accident. I also need to see if someone is trying to pass.

Cockpit: too restrictive.

Hood: my favorite camera, but I would like a wider FOV and mirrors! I need to see what is behind me!!!

Follow: horrible. I can't drive with it at all. I only use it for drifting because I need to see how close or far away another car is from me. But I still stick to hood.

It doesn't make sense, I can get awesome results in FM4 with the same screen I'm currently running GT5 on. There's something wrong with our copies or something, maybe a particular patch. I was able to do this a while back which is why I posted it in the first place on the whining thread and now PD has messed up once again.

Tried every option in the multi monitor settings, doesnt change a thing.

EDIT:

Went to the extreme and set the view at 50. saw a big difference. So i will tweak it and try to find the right settings but the settings in OP do not reflect what the pictures show, at least on my tv which is a 37" Samsung

But what did you get?, extremely close to the steering wheel or did you get a wider FOV than before.

It's not a TV thing, it's a GT5 thing. The options might have been there before, but they aren't now.

Have you tried using Client?

How could you possibly post this without pictures of your settings? Inhuman monster :grumpy:

This

I've read about the multiscreen settings affecting field of view before but never remembered to actually try it out. Shame on me, spent years playing GT5 without knowing... anyway, I'll try this out when I get home tomorrow, unless a solution is posted then already. *dreams of a finally fixed Murciélago LP670-4 SV's cockpit view*

Yes, oh yes...that Lambo is the best example.

If that work only on 2.11 it's a super disappointment. :(

You know, since GT6 is around the corner I'm going back to vanilla GT5 or at least 2.02, that's when the engine sounds got updated, the quality has been getting worse since then.

Let me just assure everyone in here, as a person who is using this in 2.12, you need the secret menu... And no once you have updated you cant unlock it anymore, so very few people can do this FOV trick...

That looks awesome (although completely unrealistic for anyone that wants a more authentic sim experience). I wonder why PD only made the FOV adjustments available for multi-monitor? Hopefully GT6 puts them out in the open rather than in a place where most people are never going to see them!

I hate you Yauma :ouch:

Glad to see it's still terribly off-centre though, then the experience is still as annoying as before :P As a question about the changed focal length of viewing, does that mean the speed feel is improved? I can't really make out how the surroudings look from those shots but I assume they are more zoomed out (smaller focal length) so they seem to fly by quicker?

con, I don't think that's right. The multi-screen options are available in the regular game options I think.

Well, I had 3 different saves... one with nothing done to it, one with some stuff but not secret menu and one with stuff and secret menu... I could only access the extra multi-monitor server settings when secret menu was enabled.

Sorry for the dumb question but I just have to confirm - Viewing Angle is the one you adjust for FOV right? Oh, and so this doesn't work in 2.13? Aw..

I thought everyone knew about this. It works for forza and it works for gt5. I've been using this feature for almost two years lol.

If anyone of PD is reading this, the easy solution for GT6 is to have four fov settings instead of three, the addition being "furthest".

The GT6 demo @ E3 only had three settings, same as GT5.

Yeah, the speed feeling it's nicer, however .. not everything is pink (Did I say it right?) about these settings.

IE. Say with these settings in bumper cam it looks like you're about 2-3 meters away from the car in front of you, however you're centimeters away.

I guess this would be even cooler if it worked for the latest version. It's bit of a shame, I guess.
