Sorry for the huge bump, seems there's no thread on Adventure Time in general, and I only just stumbled upon yours.
I used to be a huge fan as well: watched the shows, bought the comics (very hard to find down under), bought some of the better looking merchandise, etc. Now however it's pretty much in shambles, going downhill...

In some aspects it is a victim of its own success, with some personalities going on to do their own things (Rebecca Sugar, most notably going on to do Steven Universe). But it's mostly due to the lack of direction and pacing, which you can see in the episodes: focusing on either unimportant, uninteresting or annoying characters, being centred around the same specific location despite the fact that the creators plotted out an entire island that has, to a large extent, been unexplored (a bit of a contradiction to the show's name) and all contributing to less than impressive storytelling in comparison to what it was at its best.
It certainly isn't a terrible or insulting show in comparison to other great shows that have gone downhill (*cough* Spongebob *cough*), but far from what it was.

Even more interesting is the main man behind Adventure Time: Pendelton Ward, who has reduced his role on the show since Season 5 (apparently it was "driving him crazy"), but apparently has sight on making a proper game and movie. As much as I would like to see this, I think he needs to get back in there, take charge and re-coordinate the show, and maybe it can return to what it once was.

Anyway that's all I got (maybe change the thread title to just Adventure Time)

Noice necro

This cartoon is a cult classic. Too bad nowadays there's no new episodes for months. The last episode which aired about 4 months ago is basically a Card Wars commercial. Even the creator of the show suddenly disappear for some reason.

Love the art and stuff. Guess CN wants to focus on Steven Universe nowadays. Some says western animation is going downhill unlike early 2010s but still not as deep as late 2000s.
