Looks good, but it looks like the long brace holding the wheel might wobble around on that style cockpit. How solid is it? Does it jiggle around at all when you're steering?

Here's mine. Made from wood. 2.1 soundmachine is integrated. Additional speakers at the feet to ''feel'' the engine's revs and one big woofer under the seat so you can feel the curbs.

Of course it's got two dual white "cobra" stripes on the hood.

Hey, thats VERY nice. How did you make the wood look like plastic? and what did you use for the edges (looks like plastic too). was getting the floorboard into shape very difficult?

Looks like plastic ? No she doesn't ! ;) It's just plain wood, painted with primer and a couple layers of brilliant blue. I admit that the pics could have been better, however they're taken with a mobile phone, and i have to say that's it's far easier to take a pic with a cellphone than trying to make a call with a camera. :sly:

The edges are just isolation material. The kind that's wrapped around plumbing tubes to prevent them from freezing. Ok, it's not spectacular but it does the trick.

No, it move a bit, this cockpit is very stable, there's small handle each side of the paddles. Some screws solidify the whole.. Good Day everybody !!!

Why that's so long ???

Hey all, after checking out the firetooth site i decided to build my own !! here's the link.. edit: fixed link :) http://www.angelfire.com/bug/yesterdaylight/cockpit.html
it's yet to be painted, but it's VERY sturdy. made it out of 3/4 inch exterior plywood with one side finished off and the other side rough. guess which sides went out ;) anyway, i would recommend this cockpit to anyone because it only took me a few hours to build, about 50 dollars, (minus driving force pro) and anyone with half a brain who can trace stencils and use a jigsaw to use it. (if anyone only has half a brain from lobotomy or other means, deeply sorry if i offended you :sly: ) later !

hey does anyone know how much the FREX Shifter+ costs USD.....with shipping too????

If you take the price of the Frex Shift+, which is 12,000 JP Yen & go here to do the conversion to US Dollars, it will come out to about $116.249 or $117 if you round up :-)

As for shipping, I dont' know....but here's what I do know...
Frex lists the shift+ weighing in at 1500grams....which translates to 3.31pounds...So, if you go to either UPS.com, FedEx.com or even USPS.com, you should be able to get a pretty rough estimate on how much shipping is going to cost you.

Are you serious ? HS dude, that is amazing...lucky bastige !

I bought a Hyperdrive Cockpit this morning, and am mighty pissed off because I searched for ages to find one and it's pure rubbish. Straight out of the box, the two steering-column shafts didn't fit where they were supposed to, and even a lap on the High Speed Ring would push the limits of the frame... feels like jelly.

I paid AU$189 for it, which is not small change [for me]. I plan to return it tomorrow.

Any Aussies got suggestions for a reasonably affordable alternative?

Dam, what I have I been missing!? Im lucky enough to own GT4 but im missing out big style!

Ive seen these cockpits on the net:

http://www.gameracer.co.uk/product_info.shtml#Rally

And

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=11319&item=8164858389&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW

Im thinking the first link, the driving force pro package. The other comes with a crap wheel and pedals? And you only get £25 off if you dont want them.

Do you guys know of anyothers, or is anyone willing to build/sell me one. I live in the UK. I would buy one straight away, but ive just bought a PSP value pack with Ridge Racers!

Please advice guys!

If you think you would use it (Handbrake+) in any game other then just GT4, I would recommend it. I myself will use it mostly for the Rally Events in GT4, plus also using it with my copy of WRC (I).

If I get it I'll just use it for drifting in GT4 ;) but I dont think I'll get it, I think I have enough money but it's not worth it :indiff:
