Would someone be able to make one of those avatars you see around the place. The ones with the like...orange back ground, and SS or ID on them, to represent the persons user-name? If so, could I have it of standard user size, with t4 on it? Orange back ground would be nice.

What is the best setting for an avatar?? To make on Photoshop. What are the best settings?
Width: 100 Pixels ?
Height: 100 Pixels ?
Resolution: 100 Pixels/Inch ?
Color Mode: RGB? 8 Bit??

100x100 is the maximum size you can have unless you're Premium. If you make it larger than that, I believe that the forum software resizes it which could potentially lower the quality.
Also, maximum file size is 20k. Anything over that and the software resizes. Since yours is 20.2, that looks like what has happened.
The only thing worse than 8 bit is 4, both of which are pitiful for full color quality. Whenever possible, use 24 bit. Keep in mind that jpeg will also compress the image, lowering quality. If you can, stick with png.

Smaller file size than your and still cleaner.

Your avatar is no where near as crisp as it could be. Same with mine, Notice how yours is blurred a bit, and so is mine. So what is the res supposed to be set? Anyone?
I just set my avatar to the one you sent and that one is PERFECT. But what was the resolution?? What are you using? I'm using Photoshop CS5. Photoshop I'm using does not have 24 Bit, But 4,8,16,32 Bit.

That's because when I made mine I didn't really care to resize it and, as it's 25.3kb, forum software...
If you don't have 24 bit, go with 32. Just keep in mind that the higher you go, the larger the file size will likely be, so you might need to play with that.

TB has answered most of what you need there.
Yes 100x100 unless your a premium member.
Yes has to be 20kb or less. (or it will get resized and compressed automatically by the forum system)
Yes PNG is better but does produce a highe file size then JPG.
And always make it at 72 dpi which is screen or web resolution.
I find JPG to be fine when output at 100% quality. But if you need transparency then PNG in 24bit is the way to go. But some browsers don't render tranparency so the safe bet is to set the background of the file in the colour of the forum background to match. This giving the illusion of transparency.
If in PS you go to File> Save for web & devices you can preview the output quality in there and save as a web optimized file in either JPG or PNG and it will also tell you the est. file size of your image too.
Hope that clears things up for you.

At tlowr: Anyone can have one of those if you know how to make one. But if your a non premo then it'll have to be smaller than the premium ones you often see.

Hey guys, I'm getting a bit bored with my current Virgin Racing avatar, so I'm hoping someone could please do a new one up for me to Premium-size using this image:
I know I've asked for it before, but unfortunately I lost it a long time ago. I'm hoping you can just crop a bust shot of NPH and ditch the unicorn horn.
