Something's fishy about those videos... either that of PD failed "big time" in delivering what it promissed.

I'm sorry if I'm being unfair to tekken's efforts (which I truly appreciate - thanks!) but some parts don't "fit in":

1) Where are the crowds and their tents and the detailed graffittis in the tracks? (KY even joked about it asking sorry for not being able to implement the barbecue smell in-game, reffering who realisitically recreaterd the 'Ring ambience was going to be represented)

2) Damage from the final build (tekken's game) compared to the demos seen before.

3) You can say that the reason for the lack of damage would be that he's playing in arcade mode. Fair enough. How about showing us some GT life races then? Isn't a little bit odd that tekken's are (If I recall) correctly all from arcade mode?

Tekken once again I'm sorry if I'm being unfair towards you but I think that you can understand my skepticism and DISAPPOINTMENT (above all), because if you're really posting the game's final build and then PD did really failed to deliver this. And they failed to deliver what they promised not what I expectd neither the hype created.

Tekken... thanks so much for the videos... I think im not coming back on here until the game is out and ive played it because i think ive seen enough spoilerish type of things..

Peace

Good post Otom1c_Nat1on, Shame I had to learn the last point the hard way. ;)

Yeah good point where are the crowds on the ring?

Didn't PD say that crowds were dynamic? In the last video it was only 1 lap is that why there is no crowds? You are correct where is the writing?

Some writing is noticable in the video, I'm sure it will be easier to spot playing the game, especially from any other view.

I don't know what happened to the crowds.. If they kept them in it might depend on what event it is.

You will most likely only get crowds on the 24hr layout. Not the standard Ring.

This video should have been the intro video. Its an amazing GT5 trailer I just found

Now if anything was going to give you that hair standing up on the back of your neck feeling, or goosebumps, that is it.

Outstanding video, with superb editing and an outrageous music track.

Pity it is not the intro. As let's be honest here, it makes the official one look like something a second year media student has compiled for an exam.

I also agree with you on this one. Either the game is still encrypted and needs a patch to decrypt the remaining data (hence more details, more tracks, etc) with a patch that may come out on the same day as release to prevent the "surprises" Kaz has been hiding. I don't mind downloading a big file patch, just as long as it includes almost everything we want.

Or a DLC may be on its way soon.

Or tekken (and others who have the copies) have an earlier build of the game which was purposely leaked, and that the real contents are safely secured during shipment.

Also if it were the CE or Signatures edition, why isn't there any pictures proving what it came with? The toy car? The bundle? Etc... the only pictures we saw was a black/white GT5 cover and that was it.

People claimed the black/white GT5 cover is the CE or Signature, but there is no proof of the things it came with.

What about the people that don't have online? Thats where I disagree. If there is a patch at release I believe it would be for a glitch. Surely Sony and PD aren't evil enough to hold out game features just to kee it quiet and patch it in.

It's possible that the latest and final GT5 copies have the latest contents and that the leaked games were review copies.

And even if they did release a DLC anyway, wouldn't that suck for people without internet connection in the end?

Now that I can agree on but I don't think that it was leaked on purpose by Sony.
Atleast I wouldn't leak a incomplete build, when you can go to your local Best Buy and play a incomplete build.

This type of things let people hope again... And then again --> dissapointment...

I think we get nothing (no patch or DLC) on rls. date, and then if we get something, then I would be happy about...

Yeah. Something tells me these Czechs may not be playing exactly the same game that's coming out next week. All of these pre-release copies have the CE cover art, but the cardboard slip and Apex booklet among other things are nowhere to be seen. It's definitely not the final packaging at least.

On top of that, most if not all stores haven't even received their copies of GT5 yet and this is the part when it usually gets leaked. It's suppose to arrive by the end of this week or early next week for all stores.

If they did, they'd still be sitting out in the shipyard containers ready for shipment to warehouses.

They weren't purchased from retailers as far as I know. Somebody probably stole a bunch of copies off the production line and sold them privately. It's all very shady.

Mhh I think it is... They only got some stolen copys from a guy that works there where the Discs get pressed... (I think so)...

And this is what happens when you let your work done by cheap producters or in countries where people earn less money... So they make money with selling GT5 copies :)

No offense to czech people 👍 But if they would press this games in, for example, Germany, I dont think that any copies would get stolen because the "security levels" (or whatever it´s called) are higher here...

It makes no sens to have different production discs. If what Tekken's have is the "real" game, then 99,9% sure that is what everyone will get next week.

As far as I see it (again apologies for any unfairness to Tekken) the most plausible theories are:

a) Tekken does not have the "real game" but instead some sort of unlocked demo with much stuff in it that was never showed before. A review copy is possible but unlikely in my opinion (no damage)

b) Tekken has the full game has we will have it next week and if so, the thing was clearly and outrageously rushed and unpolished (premium/standard cars thing, lack of track variety, where's Siena track?, no brake upgrades?, where's the crowds and ambience on the Ring showned before, damage is a joke compared to the demos builds). If so, this is a true stab in PD's and GT's tradition...

c) This is all part of a mad Sony's plan of viral campaign envolving supposedly leaked footages from the final game. This is however quite elaborated and usually the simplier explanations tend to be correct, so I'd take this last one with a full mine of salt (not just a pinch).

A question to be left out open: the first czech guy who did release some leaked footages got pushed by Sony and YT to remove the published material. Hasn't tekken yet got bothered about it also?

I'm a bit disappointed with what we have seen so far, so I'm not expecting any surprises when I do get the game. But you have to think about what PD has done these past 5.5 years working on GT5. In 2008, the game already looked nice. Kaz even said it was 90% complete. So for the past two years they've just just been pretty much polishing the game and they added the weather system in 2009. Why do you need to polish a game for two years?

Hell on top of that, the weather was made on only a few select tracks.

It's most likely Sony and YT put in a search filter to find leaked "GT5/Gran Turismo 5/etc" videos. Notice how the same exact videos under a different title still exist on YT.

Kaz also said we'd expect surprises. I don't see ****.

Perhaps it has something to do with the delay? These copies could have been produced mid-October before the game got pushed back for unknown reasons. Sony may have discarded them and now they're being sold. I just don't see why the damage system would be toned down so severely.

I agree with you. I can't see how they can tone everything down for final build, my first theory was its a beta test copy. Lets hope it's all a big suprise.

At first, I thought that all of these are just a great example of viral marketing, making tekken, let's say, Sony's agent. But then I learned that another member of GT Planet owns GT5. RDK, if I'm not mistaken. He is providing us with pictures from the PhotoTravel mode. Yeah, we could think of him as another Sony's agent. But, he is one of the oldest members here, he joined on the 30th of August 2006
But here is another BUT! There are only 70 posts in his hsitory, with the first post on the 13th of November. Hmmm...
Something really fishy is going on!
I'm for the viral marketing version.

And even if tekken didn't get the final game, he spend time for us and i love his videos ! so my mind is that tekken have the game but with 5 or 6 video can't show us all the game footage and he is level 13 ...

Speaking of which, Sony nor PD or Kaz has said anything about "why" it was delayed for November 2nd. Most people say its piracy and production problems. So the production problem could relate to your reasoning and theory about these "discarded copies" that tekken90 and the others may have. So they probably lost that much money to prevent the real one from being out.

Kaz excuse to the Nov. 2nd release was to make the game perfect... how can the game be perfect if its already gone gold on the first few days of November?

I, personally, do not judge or blame tekken! I am grateful for his videos!
All our thoughts are speculations, all I can say to tekken:
"No offense, man! But people are suspicious nowadays!"
:)
