Are we holding off then until 2.0? We could at least have some practice sessions before then. Whether or not gatrs is in the series I think we should continue it.

what car are you guys using for GTC, and what day is the race?

If everything works out on my end i would love to race in the gtc class

I think it was going to be the RUF RGT at 400 HP and 1300 KG.

We don't have an official start date for the new season yet as with the person running it it's up in the air.

Welcome :)

I'd be keen as mustard to race in this (black FGT ftw!) but if it's down the drain then it's just too bad. If someone does keep it going? maybe rename it International Le Mans Series or just World Endurance Championship? since it's not exactly America only due to the tracks....

I'm sure someone can start a thread with the race series dates etc. How about gatrs just set it up and someone or someone's run it?

I'll be here regularly enough to help out as a steward. Maybe someone else can help as well. What do you think, Gatrs? Set us up a thread as a final act of kindness? :D

I'll type one up, but I can't update it regularly. So someone else will have to post it.

The Mods can always transfer the OP to another person, that what happened to the pony thread.

Rename it the World Endurance Championship? :sly:

BTW, anyone else getting excited about those new RM's? Would be sweet as to race with the R35 or R34 RM

Probably not, as we're trying to get close to mimicking the American Le Mans Series

Nice! Yeah I would want to stick as close to current Le Mans as possible, that's why I was against GT1 as opposed to a challenge or amateur class in either LMP or GT.

It isn't necessarily "American" especially with everyone being from around the globe, so we could possibly make it more ILMC geared. I mean, we always end up doing an overnight enduro at Sarthe so....

But I'm open as long as the series keeps rolling and evolving. Gatrs if you PM me the thread info I can post it.

I think LMP and GTE are enough, the 'challenge' classes are annoying IMO. Even seeing them on TV. They seem to just get in the way.

Gonna have to have a friendly disagreement here :sly:

Challenge drivers have some of the closest racing in the ALMS series. A lot of it is pretty entertaining, though the cameras are in heat with Audi and Pug so they don't get a lot of love in the porsches/whatever LMPC drives (nissan?).

I get it's kind of hard to do with GT5 but if we do GTC I'm definitely gonna go for that class. All about the driver, not the car. At least in the game where there aren't mechanical failures.

16 cars at most with 2 classes its enough, 3 classes I just see as a big stretch. If we even get 16 people to join. What if we have 8 people to join this? That's 2 or 3 per class. That's the problem with the ALMS to begin with, no one seems interested, but hopefully thats not the case.

Yeah if we can get more than 3 GTC drivers we have a class. Even fewer would be okay. Look at real ALMS. Like 2 or 3 LMP drivers when all the ILMC guys don't want to come over for the series.

I say we switch to ILMC. More gamer recognition internationally, more accurate. That's my official vote. Make it "Le Mans" not just ALMS.

MemorableC
agreed, plus the series never raced only us tracks

Well what if we get Sebring, Road Atlanta, Lime Rock, etc. in DLC. :D

I've figured of my Internet problem, so we should be able to test some more in a week or so.

 Gatrs, you're getting me excited.

If the DLC is paid count me out, I'm a cheepo
First time on GT in a while, got a 1:12 on the Vettel thing, losing way too much time on the spoon :yuck:

GT5 Spec 2.0 is now released! Downloading it right now :D

EDIT: Update will probably take around 30 minutes or more, depending on connection.
