I say yay to a challenge class! ;)

👍 The challenge drivers are picketing! :P

Plus last I heard from gatrs this was the format he was setting up for the series thread.

And if we go with just GTE and LMP I'll just up-tune the RGT and have a go at ye other drivers!

I got a 0:43.67

Got a 1:09:5xx. Could retry, but I could care less.

I think now you get double XP + prize money so you could get 10 million credits I think and double XP too! :)

Yep, the 200% boost rocketed my Credits from 1 to 11 million :) You don't get any XP from the X1 Seasonal though.

EDIT: 100 posts to 2 thousand :D

I finished the 4 hours of Nurburgring :D

2nd time? I'm planning to do it again this week if I can in the Schulz GT-R. I'll probably suspend it occasionally though.

And I don't think I'll be able to participate in this series. I could try showing up in every race but school will just interfere easily..

Nope 1st time :D I used the Schulze GTR :D it took me 3 nights to complete :) 1/2 hour one night, 2 hours the 2nd night, and 1/2 the 3rd night :) you win the Audi R8 LMS :D I used only the Racing Exhaust and switched between Racing Softs/Mediums and the Stock tires, Sports Softs, Sports Softs give you good competition against the AI (But I got the field with more street cars and RUFs and not the one with the S2000 GT1 Turbo and other tuners) the YellowBird follows closely the first stint but spins once it's tires get worn and keeps spinning and doesn't catch back up to 1st

Gatr, have you tought about LPM1/LMP2/GT-E for the next season?? I think it would be the best way to go...

This is actually something I brought up before, well a similar idea (P1, PC, GT-E). But LMP2 would allow more variety.

Great minds think alike?

Lol!! Yeah, maybe make all the closed cockpit cars LPM1 and the open cockpit cars LMP2 and restrict them to 450 hp with LMP1 restricted to 700?

Sure no GT1? :sly:

ALMS fully recognizes ACO regulations wich makes the FIA regulations, wich means it could technically run on the ALMS, but the ALMS no longer runs GT1...

Sorry Jav, that's no longer my decision. Mixed feelings about that.

Not all of us want to run GT1, I am one of those against it. Also there are more people voting in the poll than actively participating in the thread. I also feel like I missed something. Weren't you back into running the series after the new update, gatrs?

EDIT: I did notice in the poll that a lot of the GT1 supporters were regulars though a few were names I've never seen before and who haven't bothered posting their thoughts. I guess I have to go with whatever the most people want but I'm really not looking forward to drifting away from real, current ALMS feel/format.

Just sayin.

But it's not real ALMS when only 3 tracks are American and GT cars are not actual race cars...

Right but it's not ALMS at all if you just stray into some realm of random wishlisting.

Let's just rename it fantasy multi-class series 2011 and be done with it. Or just let it peter out as it already seems to be doing. I think our already-established version is much, much closer to replicating the series than anything else suggested here. The thing is this format has been used for 3 seasons and has worked just fine, no complaints from anyone thus far. Close racing across the board, and all the cars, race version or not, are good cars. Tuning and tweaking gives them plenty of kick. At 4-500hp what's the need for GT1 when it really isn't even in ALMS? And there are, what, 3 versions of ALMS race cars? Everyone will drive the M3?

Or let's just use the stupid new GT-R and no other cars and call it ALMS...

I just think we should either cancel the series or just start some other, non-alms series if people really want to turn it into something it clearly isn't. Yes, we can't replicate all aspects of the series, and we compromise where the game falls short. But when it comes to things we can replicate as closely as possible, why change it and keep the same name? Don't you think people will be confused when they come into an ALMS thread and there are Zondas or other cars like that on the list?

I can't even wrap my head around people wanting to be in an ALMS series and scoffing challenge classes. That's more than half the cars on the track in every real-life race.

But go ahead. Put in GT-Rs and Zondas or whatever you guys see fit as GT-1 super cars to go fast in. Not promising I'll stick around though if it comes to that.

We need Gatrs to thrown down the LAW! xD but TT13 you're right

I'm not sure of anything with car classes.
Btw wheel is shipped :D

He's saying he's still here to support/run the series....

2009 was 2 years ago no? GT1 last run at Le Mans last year....Had it not been for no other teams wanting to race against Corvette (dudes killed ALMS GT1 being so badass) and that GFC... then GT1 would still be in ALMS racing.

But it's Gatrs' series so it'd be up to him.

He was responding to my comment that Cowboys and I were the only ones wanting to stay pure to the way the series was before. In that context I'm not sure how you got that but who knows since the guy is so aloof sometimes :dopey:

Okay you're right about GT1. I apologize for the comment doubting its involvement. I hadn't remembered the class competing in the past. I'm not gonna argue because we obviously aren't going to see eye-to-eye about it. I think the challenge classes have brought something to ALMS that's valuable and worth representing. You think GT1 is better. I'm also outnumbered by quite a few, so. No point continuing on this way. Truce. Whatever happens happens.

BTW sin a challenge class I'm more than happy to rejoin GT-E.
