For many years my photos have been taken in a dark basement with artificial lighting on a tripod with the screen pre-rendering the results for me. I didn't have to factor in about finding the right time of day to get the best lighting, didn't have to find a proper location to put light where I want, and certainly didn't have to worry about unsteady hands. Basically it was a lot of crutches, so I decided to get out of my comfort zone, go outside and practice shooting without all the assists.
