Absolutely...and a lot of them are "coming due" in terms of degradation, including plenty far larger and with far larger potential for devastation than this one. We gotta figure out a substitute for rebar.
That garage video in the previous post was from another condo, right? That didn't look reassuring.

My understanding was that the video was taken directly under the pool. It was bad...but not the worst I've seen. I didn't see any large cracking (indicating impending beam/slab failure) but who knows how extensive the rebar corrosion was.

The availability of federal assistance isn't contingent on governor's support of for president.
He's doing it purely because it's the right thing to do?

Dominion has also subpoenaed Rudy Giuliani, Sidney Powell, & Mike Lindell today.

The subpoena asked Giuliani, a former New York mayor who served as Trump's personal lawyer, to hand over all documents related to his appearances on Fox since 2016 and all communications with the network related to both the 2020 presidential election and Dominion, Bloomberg reported.

The subpoena also asked for Giuliani to provide documents about the nature of his relationship with the network, "whether formal or informal, compensated or uncompensated," the report said.

Dominion sent similar subpoenas to Lindell and Powell, a pro-Trump attorney. They have until July 25 to comply, Bloomberg reported, citing the filing.

Can someone please explain to me what the hell kind of accent this is?

It sounds vaguely Canadian, but this guy lives in the New England area so I can't tell if it's a regional North-eastern accent or just the way he talks.

I'm currently listening and I do hear a strange mix of "northern" like Michigan, Wisconsin, etc, and some New England influence like a very slight Boston twang. But it's slight. It's definitely something from over yonder, not from the upper Midwest at all. Overall I don't know enough about that region except that accents can vary wildly over very short distances which is much less common outside of New England. Judging by the fact that he's dealing with beavers, moose, and conifers, I'd suggest he's in far northern Vermont, New Hampshire or especially Maine. NH and ME especially have a lot of very sparsely inhabited northern halves but while upper NY and VT are within the range of moose, they're actually relatively populous.

Edit: Those are active logging roads so most likely northern Maine. That's waaaay out in the sticks.

He's done some videos at the Connecticut River and references Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont fairly regularly so he seems to travel around a lot, although if he's right up near the Canadian border then there's less than 30 miles between each state.

I'm not sure what to make of this, but Cox did have some balls to make that statement. I wonder how long before he gets shafted by the hard-headed Mormons. Assuming Cox continues with statements like this, and I see no reason why he wouldn't, he's going to get sacked during the next election.

While I agree with the sentiment that politics is becoming like a religion, it's really funny to hear the Mormon saying that when politics and religion are so intertwined in Utah. However, given how far the Republican Party has fallen, I guess it could be worse. At least Cox acknowledged the problem and point-blank said that politics made people make bad decisions during the pandemic.

He may face some stiff competition in the next vote and may even have to withdraw. I doubt they'll erect any monuments to him but no matter how hairy the situation gets it's a pleasant surprise to see him standing up straight and proud for the principle of church/state separation.

I finished four-part documentary The Trump Show last night (on BBC iPlayer for any UK heads), it's crazy. Basically a greatest hits of insane Big Don moments, and a fair bit of stuff I'd never seen or heard of before, but that may be because I don't live in America. Episodes 3 and 4 cover 2019 to the insurrection and definitely make for the most bizarre viewing. That evangelical spiritual advisor person is basically a South Park character. The bit where she's going off on election night and some lad walks behind her reading a book really tickled me.

I mean...he must have realized when he said it that if he removes Republicans from committees it means Republicans have that much less influence, right? Or is he stupid.

Look, nobody knows the tax code better than I do. Okay? I know it better. I’m the king of the tax code.

By the way, just so you know, I know more formulas, I know more about tax abatements, I know more about taxes than any human being that God ever created.

I think nobody knows more about taxes than I do, maybe in the history of the world.

They go after good, hard-working people for not paying taxes on a company car. You didn’t pay tax on the car or a company apartment. You used an apartment because you need an apartment because you have to travel too far where your house is. You didn’t pay tax. Or education for your grandchildren. I don’t even know. Do you have to? Does anybody know the answer to that stuff?

Imagine your own party fear mongering you from bi-partisanship as a Congress person/Senator....
