His legacy as President relating strictly to his policies and executive decisions is still to be merited but I doubt he will get the distinction between Donald the President and Donald the Man that others like Carter and Bush have sometimes been offered.

And I won't shed a tear if that analysis is ultimately unfavourable.
Unfortunately, we have a big-talking jerk billionaire from New York City as our current president. For better or worse. Since the fate of many people and nations could rest in his lap, I personally am hoping he gets lucky or does well, and that disaster doesn't befall us all on his watch. This business in North Korea looks bad. And I don't like the warlike noises he's making about Iran and Syria either. As far as I am concerned, he's retreated from the nonintervention pledges he made during his campaign, and fallen under the spell of neocons - probably in the desperate attempt to raise his poll numbers.

At least one of those videos is misleading, the guy attacking the Dutch kid on crutches is neither Muslim or an immigrant. Great start from a President always complaining about fake news. Let's not forget MP Jo Cox was murdered last year by a Britains First supporter and Jayda herself has been convicted of religiously aggravated harassment, not exactly a group that the most powerful man on the planet should be endorsing to his 43.6million followers.

Supposedly it's a dark-haired Dutch kid beating up a blonde-haired Dutch kid.

So... when's that travel ban extending to the Netherlands?

They've had it once, not through their own choosing of course. I'm arguing that Trump invoked Godwin's Law first on this occasion.

It was when he announced his "Muslim ban" during his campaign that he suddenly got thrust into the spotlight,

Umm... no. For you perhaps but I doubt very much that it's true for the majority.

I completely agree with the first... I wonder if the second was actually always true and if much of what Trump said on the campaign trail was lies. That's aside from the demonstrable lies, of course.

Today is the day that Donald Trump's actions made me agree with Piers Morgan. I'm going for a cold shower and to put nails in my eyes.

So let me try to understand Trumpist logic:

Any media outlet to the left of Fox News edits footage/audio: "THE LIBRUL MSM IS ALL FAKE NOOZ!"
The goddamn President of the USA retweets doctored videos from a convicted yob: "It doesn't matter that the videos are edited! What matters is the conversation (translation: us chanting English translations of Nazi slogans)!"

As for people who voted for him, yes I know several and I know they'd vote him in again in a heartbeat. They feel it's refreshing to have a president who will tell it like it is and claim he's the best president since Reagan.

I just have a hard time accepting that this isn't one massive joke. I want to believe that Trump is doing this charade to simply appease some of the voting demographic that supports him, but the more he posts, the more I think this is how he exactly is.

"tell it like it is". There's no one spreading more misinformation, "fake news" & outright lies than Donald Trump. He is, however pandering to a particular demographic that believes the things he says.

It's not a joke though & yes, this IS exactly how he thinks. I described him a while ago as a kind of "idiot savant". I now believe the "idiot" element is more pronounced than the "savant". There is no master plan - no real political conviction, no cynical, diabolical strategy. Trump is simply following the demands of his own ego & going wherever it leads him. He has no deeper intelligence, no curiosity about the world & absolutely no empathy for, or interest in other people. Everything is about him & his need for self-aggrandizement. It's a fluke of timing & circumstance that led to his nomination & then election.

I don't think Trump has fallen under the influence of NeoCons. If he gets drawn into foreign intervention it will be because of his ego, not because of the influence of NeoCons. However, I'm pretty sure there's a "Plan B" prepared, where the Establishment, or the Deep State, or whatever you want to call it, is ready to step in if Trump goes too far off the rails.

I think his statement on NK may have been symptomatic of that to an extent - rather than railing away on Twitter he gave a coherent statement on camera in the presence of other officials. Mrs. Ten thinks this is why he had this unrelated Twitter meltdown the following day. She used to work with very naughty children and says he has the same shifty look in his eyes and that if you find a way to stop him being naughty he'll just find something else naughty to do :D

Sounds like Q needs to send Mrs. Ten on a Special Assignment to Washington.

I wouldn't be counting the chickens before they are hatched. Pence led the transition team and might already be lined up to be the fall guy if it ever comes to that. If it can't be directly connected to Trump it'll still end up being a nothingburger.

Pence taking the fall still equates to senior campaign officials working with the Russians to tilt the election. There's no way to spin that as a "nothingburger."

No spin is necessary. Anything other than Trump being impeached successfully is ultimately going to be perceived as a nothingburger. Trump will just shake it off and move on unless he goes down with the ship. His base won't care just like they didn't care about the dozen other "scandals" that have followed him around for the last couple of years. Senior and junior administration members tangling with the law and doing bad things is nothing new.

This is from your source.

I know...??

So that's the lie he told, the lie that he's admitted to. Where in that does it say Israel?

Yet, our national debt went into ludicrous mode during the Obama years.

It doesn’t matter what party it is, so long as the dominant parties are Democrats and Republicans the obvious trend is only going to continue.

That's cherry-picking, you need to look at both "holders" against GDP, not just baseline party-held debt. And guess what?

How is it cherry picking? It’s debt! It doesn’t matter how much GDP there is if you’re spending considerably more. At the end of the day both parties do a piss poor job of balancing the budget.

But hey, maybe some people just like walking on the edge of an abyss, who am I to judge.

So, the Senate backed the tax bill. Glad they're so keen on cutting taxes while not doing anything about spending. If we do end up going to war with North Korea too, that spending is about to really get out of control.

Also, the amount of add-ons they put on the bill are kind of disgraceful. I wish Congress would just vote on one thing when it comes to a bill without tacking on anything extra that has no bearing on anything else in the bill. Or if they're going to add things, they shouldn't be in chicken scratch handwriting.

Congress should just do us all a favor and pass a flat tax rate for everyone, including corporations. Something like 10% across the board, no deductions or loopholes. To me, that seems like the fairest way to make sure everyone contributes their share.

If they did that, the dems would really lose their ****.
