FDNY reporting 4 injuries at this time (including the suspect.) Could have been much worse - there is pretty much zero vetting for weapons in and out of that terminal - not really like getting into an airport for instance. Hope that this is not the beginning of the usual pattern - this sort of chaos creator sometimes get set off like sympathetic detonation - one starts, the others all come out of hiding.
Apparently his weapon went off prematurely.

27 year old Akayed Ullah is under arrest. Footage is available of the explosion, which, as these things go, was relatively small. He was walking along a tunnel or covered walkway when it went off. Fair warning though. It's about as potato as a video camera can get.

Are you going to post things other than just pictures from Twitter or Instagram? It's cool to have an opinion about something, but a little context would make for a better conversation.

I don't think he's interested in having a conversation.

Well, this appears to be the source:

https://www.transparency.org/news/feature/corruption_in_the_usa_the_difference_a_year_makes

Mind you, all I know of the entity "Transparency International" is that it was established in Berlin in 1993, and frankly I put little stock in polling anyway, as I believe it's easily--and regularly--manipulated, but social media can act as an intermediary source without manipulation of cited source information...not that I'm playing Devil's advocate either.

Did anyone see Trumps speech? He was slurring pretty heavily, especially towards the end. Could be a lot of things but the first thing that came to mind was stroke....or maybe his dentures came loose...lol. Hope he's ok though.

I heard this week that the slurring was indicative that Trump has dentures and they were slipping out.

It... almost makes sense when I went back and watched it again.

Could you perhaps give us a synopsis of the article? It's behind a paywall.
It's regarding the text messages between FBI Mueller investigator Peter Strzok and FBI lawyer Lisa Page that have been all over the news the last day or so. Disparaging remarks [about Trump] abound; no proof of wrongdoing that I'm aware of.

Edit: Replaced FIB with FBI; blame GTA.

Damn! It's now behind a paywall for me too. :grumpy:

Anyway, from what I recall from one brief read-through:
- FBI didn't think Trump stood a chance to win the election.
- Still, they planned an "insurance policy" in case he did.
- Agents including Strzok, Mueller, McCabe, Brit spook Steele, and others in DOJ were all involved at some point.
- Thanks to data releases obtained by Judicial Watch, it unravels that it was the FBI trying influence the election and not so much the Russians.
- So far Congress has been frustrated in its efforts to open this up, but are persisting.

Not sure he was part of a gang as such.

Never said he was.
It is annoying to have to find time to take words out of my mouth placed there by people whose command of the language is not on the same metaphorical and idiomatic level as mine - a reason I'm beginning to ignore notifications that you have quoted me.

Do please resist responding to misrepresentations of my posts.
Thank you. 👍

Perhaps you could bring us lesser beings up to speed on who
the rest of the bang-gangers
are in this case then. Or don't, it's all the same with me.

Not sure how direct quoting someone's post is a misrepresentation.

It's a play on words. It's not meant to be taken literally.

Honestly, the best defence against this sort of stuff is the fact that 99% of people are absolutely horrible at making any sort of improvised explosive device. And most of the people that have the skill to do it wouldn't, simply because of their training or affiliations. To be fair, it's harder than it looks to make a small, portable device that will actually injure or kill significant amounts of people just from proximity.

It's tragic when they try and more tragic if they succeed, but the reality is that a "terrorist" like this dude is likely to do significantly less damage with a small bomb than if he'd just grabbed a simple handgun.
