Nah, he's decided he does know something about Project 2025 because in his words, now some of it is "very good and very conservative".
I imagine the closest to a collapse there will be is him carrying out deportations for a month max, and then realize it's ****** over major backers b/c they rely on the undocumented labor force that feeds their businesses, so he'll stop and try to call it a "victory" that only he could have done in a couple weeks time.

All he's likely looking for is some press footage of people being loaded onto a bus and maybe some soundbytes from the hick sheriffs who dragged them out of their houses, and he can just have that replayed on Fox News a couple times a year to prove to the lowest common denominator that it's a "huge win, absolutely terrific outcome for Americans", even though there's no way to verify anything's actually being done one way or another.

Several years ago a good friend of mine hopped on the Jordan Peterson bandwagon. To be fair, it wasn't long after I was on the Ron Paul libertarian bandwagon @Danoff @Omnis. Unfortunately, that friend eventually went of the deep end and became a hardcore Trumplican. I'm not sure where another friend headed off to - after January 6 I was easing off my libertarian ideals and we haven't spoken since. That was when I realized that libertarianism was a wasted effort and we were suddenly dealing with way bigger problems than anybody thought could be real.
Funny thing is, since January 6 both of their careers have blossomed along with mine and we've ended up very successful. It's almost like the politics had nothing to do with it. Everything was about philosophy.

Yes. Trump will not let his pride be wounded by treating this response with the proper respect, as a result he displays a callous disregard for 1.5 million Americans (which is on form for him) who will be without electricity.
At this point I don't think it really matters how Canada responds to him. If he invades us because of how we respond, he was likely going to do it anyway. This tariff war may be a catalyst that strengthens our cultural identity, ironically.
According to the latest poll I saw, 87% of Canadians polled were against annexation and 13% were in favour for.

I'm so confused by this decision. Biden granted clemency to 1500 people, including a corrupt judge involved in a Cash for Kids scheme that ruined a bunch of children's lives.
The Biden admin said they didn't consider individual cases and just used a set of criteria like good behavior while on house arrest. And that's the part I don't get. You're deciding who should be spared from punishment, punishment given out by our justice system, but you're not taking the actions of the person or their specific crimes into account to do so? How is that justice?

I do wonder if there's something deeper here. The Cash for Kids scandal took place in the very part of Pennsylvania in which Biden grew up. This part of Pennsylvania was also decisive in Biden winning Pennsylvania in 2020. The case is ubiquitous in the Scranton area and pretty much everyone in the region feels very strongly against Judge Conahan and Ciavarella.
Funny from the guy that authored the '94 Crime Bill which even created the opportunity for Judges to sell kids to prisons for profit in the first place. I know this commutation is one of 1,500 done en masse, but how on earth something like this is even considered a "non-violent" crime boggles my mind. There are kids who have committed suicide, have mental health issues, or have their lives permanently hamstrung due to the corruption of these judges.
Here is the distraught mother of a child who committed suicide due to the distraught actions of this judge, criminalizing ordinary teenage mischief:

I guess they are afraid that he might not be convicted on normal murder charges so they needed to overdo it. This was premeditated murder. Unless they (or the "CEO class") fear he might not be convicted if they don't add the last item?

You just quoted the post I replied to in reply to my post, lol. I did read it and was asking a question about the prosecutors' motives as this murder seems unlikely to add to the overall level of terror in America to me, unlike the school shootings to which it's being compared. I wonder if they'll be able to make it stick.
