Andy Tudor: Gran Turismo and Forza Are Playing Catch Up With Project CARS 2

From this 3 games i"ll choose 4th ( Assetto corsa ) But in any other way i love Project cars2 very much and maybe with next patch could be on 1st place. GTS is very disapointing to me i love livery editor but all other parts of the game is simply garbidge. And they should change slogan from real driving simulator to simply photo simulator. About Forza i cant say anything .

So much salt here. Seriously guys. After spending 2 weeks with GT Sport, i returned to PC2 and what can i say? So. Much. Stuff. To. Do. And not just endless driving school lessons, no, i'm talking about real championships here with long race weekends. Can't think of any other game offering that much right now. Oh, and Formula Renault is just SO much fun!

Exactly. There's a lot of truth here. But when you spend this:
BRL 325.00 PC2
BRL 2.000,00 PS4
BRL 4,300.00 T300RS GT
and can not simply control the car, then it means that the game is worthless.
Remember that I'm talking about the same console (PS4) and the same steering wheel and that in the Assetto Corsa or GTS I can at least get the car running and control it perfectly.

No! The least Andy Tudor should do was correct the serious flaws related to steering the car. Only then could I play this game and evaluate it against others. Which is a shame because the game has a lot of cars and cool tracks but they are unplayable.

I’m not sure what’s going on, but that’s the first I hear of issues with T300. There were (are?) issues with G29 (or 920?) but others seem to be working OK.

What about all the people who can control the cars?
What are they doing that you're apparently not doing?

This is the saddest part of the story. I also have the G29 and had to buy the T300 because of the excessive central deadzone on the G29 that I did not like. T300 is much better at this point.

In AC and GTS you can get around a curve in a controlled and progressive way with the steering wheel, but in PC2 this does not happen. The car simply, unannounced (probably when it reaches the locking limit of the steering wheel) turns everything to the side and comes out spinning. I think maybe it's because the PC2 has not been programmed to 900º or 1080º in steering wheel ... I do not know ...

Another important thing: slower cars like Renault Megane or Ford 1600 1972 are perfect for playing with the steering wheel. Most of the faster cars, if compared to GTS or AC, are ridiculous. Remember I'm talking about PS4.

Hi,
Why can not I complete a simple lap on a simple track (Brands Hatch Indy) without the car spinning? (of the fastest ones, like Porsche GT3 or Nissan GTR). Is it because I drive very badly? But in AC and GTS I get complete laps without problems ...

No, my friends. The answer is another: This game (PC2) has a poor control and physical simulation of cars. Simply ridiculous. I use the T300RS GT Edition, it's not the best but it's a good one. But remember: I'm talking about PS4, not PC.

My verdict: GTS> = AC >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> PC2.
The fact that I (and many others) can would seem to disprove that claim.

Oh and I'm on the PS4 with the exact same wheel.

GT3 on the 'ring.

So cars like the Megane and Escort are fine for you, but the problem is that 900 and 1080 steering isn't supported correctly?

Those cars have lock to lock steering in that range, as such you've just shown that to not be the case.

Look at the video of the 911 GT3 at Brands Hatch (from Scaff) at 0:10 on the PC2 side:

What would be the reason for the behavior of the car that way, from which the racer had to correct the steering wheel?
Note that in the Assetto Corsa the car's behavior was smooth and progressive.
At time 0:30 again, at the exit of the curve.

This behavior is not normal in a car in real life.

On my steering wheel, this abnormal behavior of the car is even more pronounced, I believe it is due to differences in ffb settings and calibration (I am using adjustments and calibration the same for all cars and all in stock). I would even ask Scaff to tell us what configuration he is using.

Thank you.

Could you post what FFB settings you are using... Raw, informative?
Also, are you using traction control at all?

Looks like he got his left rear wheel onto the green paint :).

Nope, white paint barely, and probably not enough to upset the car. Could it be more to do with weight shift over the rise??? It's a very tricky entry.

This.

I braked too late and had to turn in harder that you ideally should over the rise, which upset the rear of the car, resulting in the rear trying to step out and having to be corrected.

It's a trait of paddock hill, as watching any racing from Brands Hatch will show.

@GT4Fun a quick site tip, if you add the @ symbol and then the user name straight after it will tag the person in the post and let them know.

Now as for the two cars, as I explain in the video they drive remarkably similar, the differences are more akin to running the same car on two tyre brands than a fundamental disjoint between the two physics engines.

Over the course of the lap I had to correct oversteer on both titles, and the reactions and corrections needed on both was very similar.

Its also perfectly normal behavior in terms of correcting oversteer,

I thought it might have been, I've had the odd loose there before (on pretty well every game I've played).:scared:

Yep.

Paddock hill is a tricky one, as its totally blind, the braking zone can (depending on car) be on a crest and is in the start of he corner, so you have to be positioned towards the centre of the track.

Sheene Curves is another one that's trick at Brands (GP) as its almost an uphill version of he same conditions.

Those two are part of the reason why I love Brands Hatch.

As the question was raised around how to find out what titles are modeling and how it can relate to what the cars should be doing based on reality, I put this together which may be of interest.

If you watch the drivers hands and the video in general on the Pcars2 side it appears if you are having to work much harder to keep the car stable and on the track. Is that the case or is it just a graphical anomaly? I ask because that is one of my personal complaints about Pcars2. The cars never really feel "stable" to me.
