Last time I post now and keep bumping your thread back up the top...

Last night I used it for a new car and I used the tune from the MX5 TT car. A thought occurred to me, its almost like DNA and evolution. The more you make the more your set-up preferences/characteristics become ingrained.

Example: I used a tune from a very well respected tuner, it suits my driving style well. I adapted this to a similar HP and KG FR car. I then built on this set-up myself and adapted it to another car and so on etc.

In a sense its like 'tuning inbreeding', we could do with some sort of 'family tree' screen showing how its developed and who its 'parents' are etc. I find myself tracing back the steps I took and seeing where it started. I have OCD so I enjoy retracing my steps and seeing progress.

My point, if I have one or just waffle? The more you use it the more ingrained your preferences and desired handling characteristics will become within the app and your approved tunes.

Not a problem :D

lol - not sure about the inbreeding reference but you do have a point. The app will get you most of the way there using the sample tunes as a base. You can then make small adjustments to tailor the resulting tune to your liking. Then you can use that tune as the basis for generating other tunes and so on. The nice thing about only having to make small tuning tweaks is it makes tuning accessible to a lot of folks who find tuning daunting (I'm among them!). Of course you don't have to make any tweaks at all if you don't want to and the tunes generated by the app will get you almost all the gain with no pain. As much as this project has taught me about tuning I'm still scared of trying to build up a tune from scratch :scared:

Version 1.08 has been submitted to Apple for review. It adds support for user-selectable torque units. Thanks for your patience - I know many of you have been looking forward to this one :)

Very good upgrade. The people of Spain thanks you very much.
We will not have to be with the calculator making changes. This application improves every day.

Goodbye calculator. :)

Hi pgagoober,

Bought your app, and i'm looking forward to test it! Will post a review... ;)

How's the app inTune gear box development?

Cheers...

Thanks sportacus. The transmission tuner is still in progress and I'm reluctant to give a prediction on when it will be finished given the unexpected obstacles I have had to overcome so far. That said, I expect it to be done pretty soon.

I haven't been playing with the app for too long but I like what you've got. You'll have to forgive me if I have missed something, but is it possible to incorporate a way for a tuner to distribute their tunes through this app? To explain further, could a tuner tap in their tunes to the app and then export them as a "car pack" for other users to load in? Perhaps something that could be attached to a tune posted on GTP or a tuning website that a user could download and import. Just a thought for future development.

I also wouldn't mind if it was iPad native... :D

It's been on the to-do list from the outset, or just about. Recall asking a similar question before buying the app.

Personally, I'm getting to stage where it would be really helpful to search tunes and to have the upgraded power, weight and pp displayed on the tuned list instead of stock values.

@DigitalBaka - tune export/import is most definitely on my to-do list. I'm considering lots of potential approaches to it but I don't have a solid plan just yet. Whatever I come up with, the primary focus will be on ease-of-use.

iPad native may happen but not very soon.

The problem there is that each entry on the "Tuned Cars" list potentially represents multiple tunes so which tune's data would I display? The list of tunes for each vehicle already shows the upgraded specs so I'm assuming you were referring to the cars list.

Tune searching on the other hand is certainly do-able. What would your ideal search functions include?

Yes, forgot that when I eventually find the car, there is another level containing all tunes for that make and model. Perhaps, omitting the stock settings to allow more cars on screen, but I'd be ok with multiple versions of the same car if the search option was good enough.

Quicker way to sort Manufacturer and Model (Nissan and Mazda for example are horrible to scroll through). I'd rather scroll all manufacturers first, rather than every model before getting to next manufacturer

PS Thanks for asking, much appreciated - regardless of what you decide to do.

I like this idea a lot. I should have thought of this myself as I also don't like scrolling through that enormous list. I'll have to look into how easily I can make this change. Thanks for the suggestion!

I like that idea as well. As long as we're on searching and sorting, would it be possible to filter by a PP range or other such criteria? Don't know if stock or modified would make more sense...or both.

Absolutely. I've always had a search feature for online events on the back burner. My thoughts were to allow the user to specify the typical criteria such as PP limit, drivetrain, country etc. the results could optionally include some inTune suggestions for cars you may not have tunes for. That could be restricted to premium cars so you could always go buy the car if necessary. It could of course also include all standard cars but then you would likely get suggestions for cars you don't have in your garage. I suppose I could add a "My Garage" feature but I'm not sure many would want to bother going through checking off every car they own. That could take a lonnnnnnng time for many of us :)

You've got me all fired up now - I really need to grind out this transmission tuner so I can get to these other features.

I wonder, would it be possible ot sync a "My Garage" feature with an existing site like mygranturismo.net? I suppose it depends on how the site is setup but that could save you the hassle of coding it in the app and using something that already exists.

It's an interesting idea - although I would be reluctant to be dependent on anything that is not directly under my control. I'll give it some thought as an optional feature if it's even possible to begin with. Needless to say, the owners of mygranturismo.net would need to be involved. When the time comes I'll look into a little more.

lolwut.jpg. I've been using this app for several months now.( around 4 or 5) when it was at 1.0 just from looking around the app store for a gt5 app. I'm always on GTPlanet and somehow didn't notice this thread. Well I have one thing to tell you about this app. I love it since day one. It has helped me in every random race lobby where I join in where there is a certain PP and don't have time to make a tune. That is where I use this. This app has won me so many races. Thank you for making this app, it is the most used app on my iPod and I'm always on this thing.(and gtplanet)

Wow. Thanks a lot TheYaShoe! :D

Haha, no. Thank you! I'm still really surprised I haven't seen this thread. I'm always scanning the tuning section. Anyways, I really like these recent updates. I have around 400+ tunes logged into it. It's a lot more refined then it used to be. And for the price of a bag of chips, a must have to anyone to anyone even half serious about GT5!

Be sure to indicate this in the App Store. It would help some people who may be on the fence.

Yea, that almost stopped me from buying the app. There were only around, 5-10 review and 75% of them were not positive. But I just told myself that no matter what the coat it will be worth it and I was right! Il drop a rate and review soon.

I downloaded this app a couple of days ago and it's pretty nice. I know I like to take tunes from some of the major tuners here in the forum the adjust them. Would be awesome if you could add a button to use a tune from there, such as, choose the car, add tune, then where it asks New Copy or inTune, you could have a button there for existing tune. Then when you select it, it will ask you who's tune you want based on what tuner has one available. That seems like a lot of work, but its an idea :)

Thanks for supporting the app! That's an interesting idea about providing access to the tuning garages. Obviously if would have to be completely with the tuner's consent. I'll give this some more thought as part of the import/export system I'm planning for a future update.

As well as permissions from Jordan, which I could not see being a problem obtaining :)

Poking around with the app just now and found a little issue.

Someone told me one of my tunes worked well on another car so I thought I would put it in and see what InTune would do with it. Put in all the settings but I did not see a place to put power limiter. A lot of my tunes are built to a PP so it would be advantageous to have this, especially with tune sharing on the horizon. :)

Need to work up a review for the app store but loving this still.

Thanks a lot. You're right about the power limiter. I chose to omit it as I could not figure out how PP is calculated so the value of having the power limiter included wasn't clear to me. You can of course adjust the PP in the app (which btw will not effect any other tuning values) but I can see how it could be unclear just how to get there in-game without at least some kind of indication that the limiter was in effect.

What would be your ideal scenario for this support in the app?
