I don't think why that should bother them :) If you look at it from another perspective, some people may search for that wheel after they see it in the video (I know it's a slim one, but still).
I'd just like to add, that that is an awful phone design from a a usability standpoint. Touch sensitive edges? How do you hold it? No bezels around the screen? Again how do you hold it? It does look slick, but that's where it all ends :)

anyone have a good copy of the full GT2 manual in PDF? i cant find a copy of it that does not have scrambled letters.

I had the same problem as you trying to view it on my Mac, downloaded an updated version of Adobe and can view it properly now.

the adapters rub against the wheel right under and above the paddle buttons. this causes the adapters to scrape the wheels body in these spots. also, the paddles do not press if you go too high or too low. leads to many missed presses in game. ive seen this issue discussed on a few sites. is this the first you are hearing of this situation?

Clubsport Pedal problem:
The brake on my year old Clubsport pedals stopped working correctly in October 2010. After researching and attempting to lube the brake components I emailed Fanatec support in November and the first week of January. Still no reply.

I'm fairly certain it is a failed loadcell unit for the brake. Has anyone ordered the electrical components such as the loadcell directly from their manufacturer? While I wait for Fanatec to reply I may as well attempt to skip the middle man.

Thanks,
Spiff

Lol, this things are build in china, that is why 50% are broken! Good luck with ordering stuff from China...

I'm also interested if the load cell that Fanatec uses is available somewhere in USA? They are not expensive and although Fanatec does stock them as a part (although i see they are out of stock), for me to order a spare for $15 is ok but the shipping to me in Canada is ridiculous at $28.

We had that issue on the very first prototypes and then we changed the design so i am surprised about that. Did you send pics to our support?

I'll check that tonight, but I haven't had a missed shift at all. If they do rub when pressed on one end of a paddle, I'll either just dremel the corner of the block down or add a couple washers behind the block to space it out a little. It's a really simple fix. No big deal.

The problem I see with the paddles is that there is no physical connection between the paddle and the button. When I took apart my wheel to fix the downshift paddle, the paddle is a plastic piece that presses again a tiny button which is covered by a piece of rubber.

That is why if you press the top of the paddle, it goes down at an angle and doesn't properly press down on the button. (hope all that made sense)

This is accurate. It makes the sweet spot on the paddle shifter smaller than you'd expect. It's nothing you can't learn to adapt to, but it's one of the few poorly executed features on the wheel. I think Logitech showed how to do paddles well and economically with their G series. I wish Fanatec just copied that design.

I tested my GT2's paddles and neither of them touch the back of the wheel spoke at either extreme. No trouble getting them to shift at either extreme, either.

I do agree that they could be better engineered, though. The Microsoft wheel has paddles that are anchored very securely with a strong axial pivot.

poorly executed? more like lazy. and i have had to adapt, i have adapted to using DFGT style paddles on a $250 wheel. bottom line... if you are adamant about getting a fanatec and use paddles often you are better off waiting for a more permanent solution or a better adapter. the clamps on this wheel suck big time, and thats ok to me because i hard mountand it does not cause me to mis-shift or ruin my game experience. yet they sell an additional table clamp that they market as "super strong" which means the one you get free is not? hahahaha.... unreal. how about, instead of $ 40 carbon fiber paddles that make absolutely no difference in the way you play they come out with a real paddle adapter.

I think the real idea on the Clubsport clamp is you get a better shifter mount and angle adjustability... although the factory clamp does look pretty bad.
