Fingers crossed, although it should work from scratch. Enjoy and give us you thoughts on GT2 and CSP :-)
I've just arrived home, and my first thing was to test the stuffs.

It works! Everything is fine! I feel like a little kid at christmas eve :)

Now I can mount the wheel and the CSP inverted on my rig, and can enjoy it for long-long hours 👍

I don't know what was the problem with the G25 pedals, but i doesn't count any more.

Mine is exactly the same. G series pedals reluctant to work, CSP work fine.

Enjoy your wheel to it's fullest mate.

/\ I hope thats not the case otherwise I'll have to get CSPs haha.

I'm itching to get my GT2 wheel, shifter arrived 2 days ago. My wheel has been static in customs since the 7th :grumpy: (Cali-to-BC-Canada.)

great enjoy it for as long as you can :-)

Just a question: What should I do if the vibration motor in the break pedal doesn't work? I feel the vibration on the wheel, but not on the pedal.. I've tried it with GT5, and than checked the problem on PC too. When I pushed the test vibration button, only the wheel's motors worked, the pedal motor didn't (the CSP was connected with PS/2 to the wheel, not tried with usb). Is there something I have to setup on the wheel? Or I need some new firmware?

If this is the case, than you need to update firmware on CSP. http://www.911wheel.de/?q=node/2037
Use the update 2 :-)

Plug your pedals directly to the PC to test vibration.

If ABS is set to off the default vibration is through the wheel I believe.

Turn the adjustment knob clockwise to provide minimum pedal pressure to activate vibration through pedal.

Knob turned anti clockwise really needs a lot of pressure to activate vibration.

Thanks.
I've tried all position of the adjutment knob and all wheel setup for ABS, but didn't helped. I'll try the latest firmware when I get home, I hope it will help 👍

I think vibration has to do also with ABS on-wheel setting. Lower the number > sooner the vibration. Higher the number > later vibration. Adjusting vibration is matter of adjustment the knob and on-wheel settings.

I have knob on about 80% and ABS set to 25% ( I love early braking vibration).

Also notice when you set it to 000, everything will vibrate like crazy, at least my GT2 does:)

He had problem that the vibration doesn't work no matter what settings are used on the wheel.

Mohamu check the position of the little rumble motor on the back of the brake. I know it sounds stupid but when I was removing the block between the pedal and footplate, I screwed it a little to tight and the side of the motor was touching the side of the pedal and it was preventing it from rumbling. I adjusted the screw and made sure it was centered and I was back to normal.

Sounds interesting. I'll check it. Thanks 👍

Feel free to play with your product how you like. Not sure I like the early vibration though, what use is that.

The way I set up the ABS is game specific.

Example Forza.

Hot lap around a track with my telemetry on. Apply brake hard and see what point the wheels lock up.

If my pedal doesn't vibrate I adjust the on wheel settings down to maybe 85.

Once I get my cars locking up and my pedal vibrating I then adjust the knob to my prefered foot pressure required to lock wheels.

Ideally my brake pedal vibrates at the point just before the wheels lock therefor warning me I'm on the edge.

It then simply becomes muscle memory in my braking foot to fully apply brakes without a lock up.

My ABS pressure is uniformly set around all my games. It really is like cheating it's that good.

PS Amar I'm not telling you how to play just the way I've got it set up.

Oh and ABS set to 0 will utilise the wheel rim motors as engine revs. Not my cup of tea but a neat function I suppose.

Spagetti, that is exactly how I set my brake and ABS threshold too. I find it to be a very useful tool and I think people should at least try this method. It definitely allows me to brake later and more aggressively.

Seems if its muscle memory, then the racing game isn't ideal, as ABS should come on WHEN THE WHEELS would normally lock, and the point at which that happens depends on the speed of the car and the tire and road surface conditions, so it would be different levels of force on the break pedal that should engage a cars ABS system.

Just thought I'd come back and update my experience with Fanatec customer service. So far it has been nothing but good. I should have my new wheel on Friday. They have also already refunded my shipping charges for the defective wheel I sent back, via paypal.

Absolutely no complaints about Fanatecs customer service from me. I received prompt replies and very quick service through the whole process.

Now hopefully the replacement wheel works properly.

Just received my GT2 wheel yesterday 👍 Received in Canada in just over 2 weeks but that is all Canada post and Canadian customs fault (was in customs for well over a week).
Coming from a Logitech G25 this thing looks and feels great, the wheel was heavier than I was expecting but thats not a big deal. I finished my ABS cockpit just in time to set it up and do a few quick laps.

Plugged in everything fired it up and no 888, yay! haha. I did have trouble trying to connect it to the xbox until I figured out which was the connect button on the GT2 (Do'h). Since I've only had the xbox and forza3 for a couple of days I switched to what I'm familar with... GT5 and try to get a good comparison to my G25.
Now onto GT5, I thought the GTR nurburgring challenge on sports hard would be a good comparison. I did a fairly clean lap a couple months ago with my G25 at a 7.28.XXX (all assists off, abs:1)
On my second lap with the GT2 I did a 7.30.XXX with an off and logitech pedals which did not fully work, and still getting used to the wheel.
By not "fully work" I mean the accelerator never reached 100% input more like 95-98% and wasn't stable, (was jumping between 95 & 98%). These percentages are just guesstimates on what I'm seeing from the bar.
Now onto the brake pedal on some instances between 2%-5% would stick when off the brake and on full accelerator (well 98% :ill:). To get rid of this I had to jab brake pretty good. It did that approx. 5 times on that lap (7.30.XXX)

Other than that the wheel feels great and is incredibly smooth. I'm quite happy with my purchase, But I will have to get the CSPs faster than I was expecting, oh well haha.

Thanks fanatec.

Sorry about asking again, but I think I have a bad karma with with my CSP..:)
Is there anybody who has any idea what should I do?
My CSP works strange..
With the firmware 1.18 to 1.22 the deadzone of the throttle is perfect, but the vibration motor doesn't work.
With the firmware 1.23 to 1.28 the deadzone of the throttle is incredible big (I have to push it ~50% when it starts to work) but the vibration motor works well..
This happens both when I connect the CSP directly to PC and with connecting by the GT2 wheel too.

Thanks guys

Perhaps firmware 1.23-1.28 it remaps full saturation of the brake. Maybe you're not hitting the 100% point on the brake. If you reduce brake pressure using the potentiometer does it make a difference?

Appreciate it now I can see how long its going to take to get mine when they send it out Monday.👍

Is it normal not to get a message saying when it has shipped or if they have gotten the money?

scoddee
You'll get the message and if PayPal took it, you should get an e-mail receipt, Fanatec got it.

Scotty

I bought it 5 days and only got the message from Paypal, no shipping data or confirmation. I have speculation that it should arrive on Monday.
