Here's mine (purchased off eBay):

For the pedal plate I just used a locknut. Thanks 333hp and Logiforce.

For the cushion I ordered a Playseat cushion, so we'll soon know if the white matches as well as the black. Thanks lopsided, your amazon review of the cushion is what actually convinced me.

For the mat I'm using, Best Step Eva Foam Flooring. which is fairly inexpensive and the texture sort of reminds me of the T500 pedals.

For wire managment I'm using:
IDEAL 1/2" Split Flex Tubing- This fits all three wires from the T500 snugly.

IDEAL 1/2" Cable Clamps

4 small plastic push fastners. This style.

I think it looks 10X better than those white clips they give you.

Now where the hell do I get a buttkicker?

@ Inline V

I'm pretty sure the base is just held on by the brace at the foot of the pedal pan, no hard-mount screws when the pedals are flipped that way. Pretty straight-forward.

Got my GTR v2 and my G27. Loving the new set up.

Overall, I'm quite happy with the purchase. It's pretty solid (there's some flex in it), I haven't bothered to add more cushioning. The seat fits me quite well. No problems getting in or our. Putting it together, only had an issue with a hole that was slightly off in back corner of the seat, making it hard to get the bolt in (did eventually, had to put it in fully first then do the other side).

Pretty awesome little rig for $475 shipped.

I've had mine since a little before Christmas now. Have added some goodies, waiting for monitors to go on sale to add the other two.

Additions:

- I added a box beneath the pedal plate. Not only is it rock solid it helped conceal some wiring. I also feel quite a bit of ffb/vibration in the pedals, not sure if it's merely the frame transferring the vibrations or if the stability of the box platform is also contributing but it is quite nice, albeit unexpected.
I feel I need to wait until the load cell is available before making further mods to the mounting of the pedals.
- Hubby made me a mount that simply clamps onto the frame which allowed me to attach my button box to the right of the wheel without actually modifying or drilling into the frame.
- He also made me a monitor stand. It adjust up/down/fore/aft and has a standard VESA mount for tilt/swivel. The top is removal so I can replace/upgrade to triple screens. rSeats original monitor stands placed the screen at the edge of the pedal plate, too far away for my taste. I understand that may change.
- I replaced the seat cushion with one made for the Playseat Evo, that took care of the padding issues. As you can tell, it's pretty hard to tell it's not original equipment.
- As the rSeat allows you to mount the shifter mounting platform on either side you have some unused square bar tubing (on the left side for me). Utilizing that, hubby built me a keyboard platform that used square bar which slid into this unused framework. However, it became a bit trick to get in and out even with it's mobility. When we add the triple monitors it will suspend below the screen.

The Mommy Cave

As you can see it had to tuck into this corner. After switching from console to pc sims I found it easier to park the entire rig and add a monitor. With the additions it would be quite difficult to drag it out in front of the tv.

Screw on bracket which gives the RAM mount a platform to attach to for mounting the Spears Button box.

Cushion from Playseat EVO

Pedal plate support box allows me to really "put my foot in it" without any pedal plate movement or give.

Homemade monitor stand with up/down/fore/aft/tilt, detachable so I can upgrade to triples.

You're certainly the first woman with a sim seat I know of. :P

Yet, I have a general question regarding the rSeat. I've checked their website but well, to no avail. Is it possible to purchase the metal frame on it's own? I.e. no seat attached to it.

I'm not sure, but I'd like to know, too. I would've gotten a JGTC styles seat.

I have recently purchased just the frame from rSeat and altered the seat brackets (easy) to accept a Corbeau Seat (FX-1Wide, 29501W). I am a bigger guy, 6-2, 225lbs, 40in waist, and found I couldn't fit in a standard racing rig seat. This seat is 2" wider than a normal seat and I fit just fine. I mounted the rig to a carpeted deck with locking casters so I could push it out of the way when not in use, making it spouse freindly. It was more expensive than a standard rSeat, but worth every penny.

Hi VetteZR1, I discussed that over on the ISR forum (much more active there).

I am 6' with an athletic build (more like De Silvestro, less like Patrick haha) and it fits me BUT, my husband (who luckily has no interested in sim racing or using my seat) is 235 ish and he found it uncomfortable. His brother, ex football player is around 280ish, no way he could get in it and I wasn't about to let him break my stuff!! The main issue is the "wings" that are against your thighs would just be too tight for those with a larger build.

It's not really a defect but potential buyers who may not have used a race style seat would want to know ...this seat is not for big guys (or girls).
I'd love to see a picture of yours, how 'bout?

I will try to get some pictures up as soon as I educate myself on the process. I bought everything just two weeks ago and just checked the price of the seat. $50 more

This does not just apply to rSeat, Its recommended that you try a racing seat out for size before you buy because the thigh bolsters can be really cramped on some, as well as the shoulder wings.

Most seat manufacturers will have the measurements listed. The measurements can vary a lot for different models from the same manufacturer.

My younger brother who races cars found this out the hard way, and his advice saved me potential grief when I purchased the seat for my rig.

Yes exactly. Even our vehicle's seats had a feel I had to get use to as I had never had sport seats before. They help keep in you place while corning but none the less they feel different.

My old Playseat had such low and wide "spread" to the thigh bolsters it was never a consideration.
The rSeat unfortunately narrows the audience a little bit by offering just the one size seat. Although imagine gamers are usually a younger crowd I have personally found lots of people my age (mid 40's) in sim racing.

If I had not found a suitable solution to the awful seat padding I would actually replace the seat. But as I am the only one that uses it I can't find a good excuse!

Mr.S & mikochu, Can you post a link to the seat you are thinking of mounting to the rSeat frame?

I already have an rSeat, but here's a Group Buy on Zilvia.net that shows the JGTC seat:

Most bucket seats have the same mounting points. If you look on the page, the P2 Seat is very similar to the rSeat seat, but with more padding.

VetteZR1,

How much was the assembly minus the seat?

Ok, yup, I know that seat. Just a little too brute for me. :) I like the looks of the Corbeau FX a little better, girl factor you know. It appears to have mounting holes on the side so that would be easy to adapt. I sure wish I could actually sit in some. Not sure I would need the wide and definitely would want to avoid something that isn't well padded.

I'm looking for a new base for this one:

Oh, now that is definitely a girl's seat!!!
Seriously though that's a good looking seat. I can't imagine it would be too difficult to mount to the rSeat (I'm assuming it's bottom mounts?). I have seen brackets to convert floor/bottom mounting seats to side bolts.

Yep, it has bottom mounts - it's actually just a slider as if you'd put the seat into a car.

I'm 6.2 as well with a 38" waist, and don't know if I'll fit comfortably in the seat. I emailed Rseat and they told me I wouldn't have a problem - but I'm not entirely convinced. Any input from V3 owners would be appreciated.

A representative from the company also told me that they can ship the rig without the bucket seat (I'll have to ask for the price).

If I can't fit, I was thinking about buying the rig alone and adding either a used car seat (don't know what I'll do about the mounts, though) or an aftermarket bucket (any proposals?). In any case, I would like to keep the seat cost under $250.

ian10, You'll have no problem with height, it can easily accommodate tall people. I do mention the squeeze it had on my husband and brother however.

Actually, that was one of the reviews I read about the seat not being adequate in terms of the base's width from a certain waist size and above and why I was contemplating the use of a car seat (i.e. from a VW GTi or an S2000).

BTW, your husband did a terrific job with the TV mount. Looks like it's part of the stock unit.
