So am I the only one living in hope of seeing some sort of patch soon? I'm really hoping for the Fanatec 900' problem to get fixed as well as the American muscle PI rating issue. (Other than those I'm pretty happy) :)

My biggest gripe is the stupid issue with an error message when saving your tuning settings.

I've put the game on hold for a bit while I await the CSR Elite, don't want to burn myself out on the game before it releases. It will give them time to address the online bumpercars with a punishment patch and the single player campaign is the definition of easy.

I hope they fix the connection issues...

Me and a friend suddenly the last couple days are getting "DNF" on each other when we finish a race... Everything has been fine until now.
And its only every now and then. And neither of us are disconnected or anything.

That would be soooo good -I don't think it will happen though.

As for World Tour being too easy -Agreed, I barely touch it for this reason. Rivals or event list only for me.

IMO Rivals is fantastic. It encourages you to build up a real knowledge of a track and car. Rather than the kind of track / car speed dating the career offers.

(Enjoy your new wheel! I'm loving my CSR -great bit of kit) :)

I'm thinking that may have to do with the new dashboard coming out soon. Always have weird issues when they're about to release a new dashboard.

Hmm if so, the new dashbord better be worth it :D

I can agree that the DART and superbee have strange PI but all the others?

Does the OP mean that he's no longer playing until a patch is forth coming.
If so then no I'm not waiting for a patch.

Oh no, I'm still playing daily -I love this game. The reason for the OP was just that I feel I've passed the 'waiting patiently' phase and I'm gradually shifting into 'hurry up already' phase...

I'm with you Fuzzy.
I thought my wheel was working fine until hotlapping Nurb GP in a Lotus 2 eleven.
There's one corner On there I just can't get right.
Wheel seems to over compensate my turn in and I have to lay of the power to stay of the curb.
Very subtle but noticeable.

Make sure your (and your friends) NAT type is still OPEN if you're using a router.

It's obvious to me that the patch coming is going to address more than just the steering wheels. They probably have a lot more in the patch than just that.

Yeah, hopefully. I'm not really sure what could be fixed though. I know of some 900° steering issues, the audio glitch with game installed (lol lots of games are glitchy when played installed nowadays), some PI issues, and of course lots of cockpit errors/inaccuracies, but I doubt those will be fixed.

Well, we'll see.

Maybe Turn10 are just mourning over their ridiculous sales. And that's no lol 🤬

I see nothing wrong with the sales figures, according to VGCharts they are on par with fm3 so far. So it depends what you are comparing them to?

Compare them to shift 1's first week of sales (when there no bundles for either game) and forza is miles ahead. No that's no fair, if you add all three major platforms shift is available on, the two games are roughly the same.

I don't know what the sales figures are but if they remain close to what FM3 was I wouldn't be surprised. FM4 brought in alot of new blood from GT5. At the same time FM3 encouraged alot of people to go into PC racing. So for everyone they gained they lost another one. A few people on my friends list have gone PC while I've gained a few GT5'ers also.

Add to that SOOOO many new games hit the shelves around the same time.

I'm comparing it to its most direct competitor (which Shift 2 is not). And I bet Turn10 really want to cry.

They've never remotely been in the same ballpark as GT (I assume this is what you mean)..

I do think the sales are lower then I thought though, I would have thought they where aiming for more then FM3, and whilst part of that I think is the fact so many big titles have swamped the market in the last 6 weeks, but still, I'm sure it's not doing quite as well as hoped.. Although I doubt they are that upset, not quite doing as well and being so bad they'd 'cry' are world apart..

Still, where is the patch!

Its just over a month till christmas - the sales figures will increase on the lead up to then and in january too.

Who cares how much GT5 sold - they have lost a lot of support due to the content of the game GT6 sales figures may be less than GT5 for that very reason.

Forza sales have never been a patch on Gran Turismos'. Why would T10 expect the sales to suddenly jump five-fold? GT has been around almost ten years longer than forza and was the creator of the IP. Not to mention japan give the game a 600k head start because they refuse to buy xbox products. In all other regions I estimate 30% maybe more of the people buy GT on grounds of the name/IP, that's all they know, because of that T10 will always be playing catch up. Trust me T10 knew what the projected sales figures were and the rough ball park of where they will end up.

Lucky for PD they made easy money off the back of a name (this time) just like COD. others like T10 and Dice have to work for theirs. I'm glad it's this way as these two should continue to improve because of it.

I'm sure the patch will be here once they have figured a solution for this and some of the others. This is not a "patch happy" developer which is a good thing. I hate patches for patches.

I see the same scenario playing out that I saw with NFL 2K vs. Madden. But hopefully the same results don't play out. NFL 2K was the newcomer while Madden pretty much rested on their name putting out "features" that were alot of hype. Over the years 2K finally got to a point where the gamers were recognizing what 2K was doing and Madden was in real trouble. NFL 2K5 was arguably the best football game on a console and people were hyped to see what NFL 2K6 would deliver , could it actually dethrone Madden in sales as well as gameplay.

Now here is what I don't want to happen but we're kinda getting a glimpse of it now in a way. Rather than EA try to develop Madden to beat NFL 2K they just outright bought the license for the NFL and shut 2K and any other developer out of the game. One could make a football game but not with the NFL license. That's pretty much death in the football game market and that's pretty much what happened. 2K tried with APF 2K8 and while the gameplay was superior to Madden in EVERY way people didn't quite take to using Johnny Unitas throwing to Jerry Rice with Mike Singletary trying to cause problems and that was that.

While I have no clue who Johnny Unitas, Jerry Rice or Mike Singletary real world equivalents are or what they do I get what you are saying t.o.

EA have already tried this in this genre with P word. If I were them I'd be looking at their sales in comparison to T10's and PD's along the the public reaction to 'porsche gate' and wondering if it was really worth the cash and effort. That tactic won't really work in the genre for any of the developers. Trying to buy out 100's of licenses could get expensive to the point where you are not breaking even or making huge losses. It only works here with entire series' like F1, Nascar or WRC for example. None of which are essential to 'Car collector games'.

Heck series like Nascar seem to give anyone with cash the rights. There are no less than four developers with Nascar® all over the box. all sanctioned over the last 12 months. They are like that one guy we all know. the one goes with any chick. lol

lol. They were all great NFL players at different times in history (Singletary and Rice did play at the same time for a period though) for different teams.

I hear what you're saying but you wouldn't have to buy hundreds of licenses. Just imagine if someone bought out Chevy, Ford, Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini, Toyota, BMW, Mercedes and Nissan. The other guy would be ROYALLY screwed. Even though there are plenty of others out there those big nine would be enough to screw another game. Would you really want to buy a GT or Forza with those manufacturers missing?

HBK
Of course. And the fact that they still aren't must really make them want to cry.

This is ridiculous. Example: Battlefield sells more than the Badcompany 2 by a reasonable margin, but then COD comes and sells more than both combined on launch night. Do you think Dice are crying when they've made a successful game by their own standards and have extended fan base ready for future titles? Come on, it's called realistic expectations.

This is like the stupid guy in class crying over not getting an A++ when his average grade was a E- for 10 years or more. Who does that?

Yeah, that would suck. But I honestly can't see it happening. Very few of these guys grant exclusive licenses anyway. of the big nine I think only Porsche and Ferrari do. the whole exclusive license thing in the genre needs to die anyway.
