Anyone like GTO?

The new gto is a beefed up grand prix i dont like it they should'a made it retro like the 05' tang. so in other words i like the original like from the dukes of hazard!!

I like it. 350 HP, 365 ft-lbs. Gimme gimme. What is the MSRP on this bad boy?

The interior is very nice.

Somehow, with a 350bhp 5.7L V8 with 365lb-ft, standard ABS, leather, power front seats with lumbar adjustment, keyless entry, in-dash 6-CD, automatic headlights, alloy wheels, alarm, and better handling than an IS300 it's just $31800. All that, 23mpg and 0.7 seconds quicker to 60mph than a 350Z make it Car of the Year and the best Pontiac in several decades.

Wow, this car is so awesome. I like it better than the older GTOs by far. It doesn't have the history or reputation, but it's a better car.

I want one right now. Can I borrow 32 grand? And by borrow, I mean have without ever having to repay you.

Doug wipes his ass with 32 grand, I think he should give us all that much. I assume you're gonna buy one, right?

 How is the new gto a beefed up grand prix? the new gto is a holden monaro just with a different front bar, Smaller wheels, LHD and a bit more power.

I think it's as senseless to compare this GTO to '69 as is is to compare a '99 Z28 with a '69 Z28, or a 350Z with a 240Z. Times change, technology marches foreward. If Pontiac tried to sell a '69 GTO today obviously it wouldn't get anywhere. Huge cars with terrible handling, poor gas mileage wont sell, as evidenced by the Camaro. As a company, GM made a smart decision. They need to stop investing their development budget in trucks and build some cars. Anyone who expected a clone of the Judge needs to reset their expectations, because those are called classics for a reason: they are cars form the past.

Nothing really attracted me in the new GTO. I still prefer the original Pontiac GTO, the Ferrari GTO's, and the Mitsubishi GTO VR-4 (aka. 3000GT). But at least we here in the US get some taste of the Austrailian muscle car like some people have been waiting for.

BTW it has the best front seats on all the GM US fleet!!

I don't like Pontiac in general. Anybody who designs something as bad as the Aztek, then produces it, shouldn't be allowed to make vehicles.

The Aztek's styling may be bad, but don't ever question its design. I'll stand up for the Aztek AWD as the second-best midsize SUV until I die.

But Pontiac neva designed the new GTO, Holden did the only thing Pontiac was change the front of the vehicle.

I'm glad you like it, but some of the styling points are just unnecessary and gawdy. And as for the second-best SUV, what are you comparing it to? Because, if you get a look at what's underneath it, it's more like a hyped-up minivan, suspension and drivetrain wise, then an SUV. It definitely doesn't have much for the strength department, the CV's look like black chicken bones reaching to each wheel.

Excatly you brits are getting wat australia gets, which is the monaro front, 18s, climate control pretty much wat us aussies are getting.

you know it may not quite be what the old GTO is and it may be more family looking but dude, that 5.7l GenIII LS1 V8 definelty makes up for it. 0-60 in like 5.3. i'd say it ought to be pretty nice....

I used to make this same point, but of the Buick Rendezvous/Pontiac Aztek duo, it's more of the SUV.

And I'm comparing it to every other midsize SUV. The Honda Pilot is the best; the Aztek is second. It's just really damn good.

Well, i'm sure Vauxhall will be able to **** it up. Like they do with all their other cars.

the new gto is a holden, thats all it is is a holden with american badges, it has a weak motor, the chassis is weak, they really messed up the gto, i would have expected a 6.0 V8 with 400hp, i think gm messed up on a potential gold mine.

The 5.7 from the Corvette is a 'weak motor'? Why do they let you post here? And what cars have 6.0L engines?

Read: it isn't an RB26DETT.

I, too, am disappointed that they only stocked it with a 350 HP 5.7L engine instead of the vastly superior, and fictional, 400 HP 6.0L.
