... but Poker is where I made most of my money, 385 million dollars or something like that. If you win, it's 2 million dollars (1 million in chips) plus the prize car. 2nd place is 1.2 million and 3rd place is $800,000.

385 million dollars means you're basically floating around buying anything you want.

What Poker are you talking about exactly? There are several types of Poker game - from Poker on the slots, to some kind of high-stakes Poker going on behind closed doors.

Is it the VIP Lounge? Not everybody can get in there. I've played some Poker - small stakes at the lower level games, but nothing to make a living out of.

I'm talking about level 4 of the Poker Tournament in the VIP room. Even if you don't have access because your Casino level isn't high enough to enter the VIP lounge, you can still win a level 4 ticket by buying the correct drinks at the bar (level 4 drinks). Once you win a pass, enter the level 4 tournament. As long as you finish in the top 3 you will walk out of there with a good amount money. Personally I've won the tournament 161 times, can't even count how many 2nd and 3rd place finishes I've had, but yeah, I have way more money than I will ever spend. I heard someone say one time that all you really need to buy every car and every piece of property in the game is about 60 million. I don't play Poker for money anymore, now I just play it because it's fun.

DD is right. Just approach the bar when you enter the Casino and try to win a level 4 tournament pass. It is Red. Sometimes it takes a couple seconds to win, sometimes 30 minutes. Get prepared to hear "No luck this time" a lot! lol! But once you get in its well worth it. I have won the tournament about 20+ times. Have played with DD many times and had a lot of great laughs. In fact poker is about all I play in this game anymore. I really do want to finish the campaign one of these days, but always get sucked into the poker tournaments in the Casino.

I also recommend playing the High Life slot machine. Over time it almost always comes out ahead especially if you play 9 lines each time. The clothing machines also net quite a bit of money but take much longer. Avoid the car slot machine. That thing will take your money quick.

I finally finished the last Hawaii Cup this summer (right before I moved) and received the last Prize car, it was worth it. I have now done all of the events and side missions, and I still will go back and play this game once I have GTA5 out of my system

I miss driving in TDU2 already compared to GTA5 because the lack of Manual transmission and cockpit view and over all driving physics. I'm not smacking down GTA5, it's just a different game than TDU2 is. It's good to own both game for different reasons.

I have it. I am quite happy that the PS3 version works with my DFGT unlike the crap PC version but.....

AM I online? It seems to be but the names I get are "Stuart Wintory", "Dawhiterabbit" "jay" etc

Now the first id from the game so......

The others I also saw yesterday so wonder?

In the PC version when you went on the map and went to "Players", people showed up. In the PS3 version, there is no one.

I get 2 or 3 on the "GPS" icon sometimes but am wondering if I'm actually online or offline?

Is any of this familiar? Any advice? AM I online?

The lower icon would be red if you are offline, If you are online the little icon would be green.

I was online yesterday, had the green icon but got the AI player names. Casino wasn't letting me play slots too. I'd suggest getting a check on the server status.

If the server is down, its usually because of the TDU servers. Since they are dedicated servers. If the slots are not working and you don't see anyone in the Casino, then the servers are probably down.

Okay. Thank you. I know with the PC version I'd get a message saying the servers were unavailable and haven't gotten anything like that with this one.

I have the 360 version and usually it will give you a message as soon as you try to play on a slot machine. Then usually it will take you off the machine. But you can keep trying. Sometimes you get lucky and find a stable server. Hope this helps. Overall the 360 version have been very stable for a long time now. But it was terrible at launch for about 6 months. One of the most buggy, unfinished launch titles on the 360. But its much better now.

PS3 status is there along with PC status.

I looked at it wrong. Whoops! heh.

Yeah, that's what I got. I tried also with the internet turned off and other than a red icon it was the same. I decided to start a new game. Maybe I somehow started an offline game? I also know on the map, when you click on "players" it's empty.

Strange things happening, Green Icon is lit but when you try to get on a Slot Machine it says 'Server not available - try again'.
Saw two players, last night - but tonight the map is empty.
Servers jammed?

I can get into the Casino, but it is empty of people. Time trial is available, though, and so are all the other features, except for the actual gaming.

Logged on and off a couple of times, no luck. Status says that PS3 is Up and PC down, but as of this moment I am unable to find anybody.

It's a lonely place. :ill:

Going to keep trying, see if I can get on tonight.

Edit: left the Casino and headed to Hawaii - only one guy on the map. Strange - place is usually crawling with people. I had this server problem only once before - and that was over weeks and weeks of continual playing.

This is the message at the slots:

Okay, so it's not something I did wrong, lol. I have never done the Casino thing, don't remember where it is as I stopped playing the PC version over a year ago so am new to it again. I did start a new game and same thing so maybe something they have to fix. Thanks everyone for the input. It helps.

I have been trying to get on in the last few days . . . and never able to; it is possible to get online, but the Casino machines are locked out, and while I can see other players, we cannot interact.
Basically - the icon is green, but otherwise it seems I'm offline.

Hope this will clear up soon - the online experience when it was working was usually smooth and seamless.

Meanwhile . . . having no free roam, I've decided to upgrade my GT5 Save from V.1 all the way to the latest. Wow! Kaz! It's a brand new game you gave me! Now I'm not sure I'll be spending too much time in TDU2. :lol;

I'm kidding, of course - I will be trying to get on TDU2 Online now and then - when I feel trapped between the walls of a GT track.

Let's face it, folks. Test Drive Unlimited 2 is a solid game... but it's a hot mess even today. I still find enjoyment playing TDU2 and in using all of the different facilities and such. I saw a review of TDU2 from IGNore (IGN, of course) and for once- I agreed with the review. The real polish lacks in this title. People do still play this game. I still play this game from time to time. I even briefly fooled around in the PS2 version of Test Drive Unlimited. A lot of tweaks would have really made TDU2 incredible. Despite the many flaws, I would still recommend Test Drive Unlimited 2 if someone were curious in wanting to buy it.

I haven't played it since Online access became a field of ghosts. As flawed, or even to be kind - undeveloped, as it was, it was still fun to go Online and fool around with all the possible scenarios that opportunity presented. However - without the Casino (which was a paid download) functioning, half the game is missing. The only thing I would go back for now is the free-roaming in the really great cars that are available in the game, but apart from that there is not much to do anymore. TDU2 is all about people, about socialising, moving around, chatting, racing, cruising, gambling, showing-off.. . .

It's not really a game of vehicular solitaire. It is a game of vehicular net-working . . . and without the 'net working for TDU2 it will be a slow and painful (for aficionados) extinction caused by cyber-death.

I guess no one plays TDU2 anymore?
Yes we still play TDU2. Just not sure what else you want us to discuss. I played poker a few weeks ago with my friend and he ended up first in the poker tournament. I ended up 3rd.

Every time I am on, the poker lobby is full of people at all hours of the night. I am talking about 360 version. Might be different on the other versions. The 360 version is still full of life. Whenever I drive around the island there are always players around.

I was playing it last year, but I'm looking forward returning to it. Hoping to find it still alive. If only you could get off the car and shoot some bad guys and escape the cops.. then I would say "grand theft what?" and be currently playing TDU.

It's still alive on the PS3- less people but you still find them.

Raced an Alfa 8c in my F40 for example. Got $100,000 from it too.

Are the online servers still up? Im thinking about pulling it out of the drawer later today and driving my Ducati.

@ipswich1992

Darn it! 35 million credits later, 200 hundred cars in my garage in GT6, and having hosted dozens of rooms, I thought of taking a break from GT6 and trying out GT5 again.

And then I see this. I guess I'll be visiting the TDU Casino tonight, instead. For a bit anyway. :D

Plus there's all those beautiful exotics sitting around in various garages around Hawaii that need to be looked at. Never mind the war at Dillingham Airfield later.

See you there sometime tonight, ipswich; Willow ain't got enough free roam for me.
