Arab spring uprises Tunisia/Egypt/Libya/Syria

'Twas freedom that killed the civilians.
In a civil war, civilians become combatants. In a way, I suppose only Assad was justified in trying to discharge his legal duties in the civil war. But in the libertarian view, not any others.

Inevitably I suppose, the US empire got entangled as it always does in other people's business. After all, we like Europe, have strategic "interests". The US military is very good at little besides making loud noises, stinking smoke and killing people. Our idea of peace is to first break a few eggs. If US operated weapons systems killed combatants and non-combatants, I would not be in the least surprised. Realistically, this has been going on for a long, long time. Does anyone really think it's going to end any time soon?

Seems like this will go on until it breaks out a World War.

It's nothing but worse since these Superpowers have been interfering... 1.4m civilians were killed in iraq by the US. Their methods of 'peace' seem wreckless.

I don't trust the media or any of these countries stating that there making peace.

That's about the total number of casualties in Iraq. Including combatants, military etc.

About 175000 (ish) are reported to be civilian casualties. But that includes those who died from violence from all sides. Including car bombs and exploding Muslims.
Depending on which source you use, numbers vary quite significant.

Edit.

Have a Wiki for a source.

A Belgian Daesh combatant has been sentenced to death by an Iraqi court.

Iraq has put hundreds of suspected members of the ultra-hardline jihadist group on trial, many of whom were arrested as Islamic State lost a string of strongholds to U.S.-backed military campaigns throughout Iraq.

The Central Criminal Court in Baghdad handed Belgian national Bilal al-Marchohi, 23, the death penalty for belonging to and conducting operations on behalf of Islamic State (IS).

During an hour of proceedings, the presiding judge read out portions of Marchohi’s signed confession and showed a video and photographs that he said proved his membership of IS.

The images from a phone found in his possession at the time of his arrest showed Marchohi carrying a gun and making a hand gesture affiliated with the militants. Several pictures showed him cradling his infant son.

Marchohi denied all allegations against him in open court, including that he was a member of IS at any time.

“I shouldn’t be prosecuted in Iraq,” Marchohi said. “I should be prosecuted in Belgium. I am a Belgian citizen.”

Judge Jumaa Saidi told the court that the photographs were clear evidence Marchohi was a member of Islamic State.

A translator was appointed by the judge for Marchohi, who spoke in English throughout the trial. He was also given a court appointed lawyer but had no contact with him during the trial.

All I can say is :

Wie zijn billen brandt, moet op blaren zitten. Or in literal English : He who burns his butt has to sit on the blisters.

You did it to yourself, now enjoy the consequences.

Edit.

To add, this is an important quote.

The Belgian Foreign Ministry said it had no power to intervene but had made clear to the Iraqi government its opposition to the death penalty.

Watch how there will be a new reason to stay in Syria even after ISIS is gone.

Military Industrial Complex owns America and the Media.

CNN, MSNBC have been very heavy on the idea that we should topple Assad, even the bloody View has been(if that isn't enough proof these people are bought).

It's pretty shocking to see how hawkish American Media is from another Western countries perspective.

As they should. In Europe those assholes would be serving minimal sentences.

These Kurds still blaming turkey for everything oh wait they also threatened the world by saying we will release isis fighters and pinned the blame on the Turks. Now they are like look we are putting them on trial just to fool the world.
