i reckon ive used it around 10 times since i bought the game
hmmm that was when it first came out in australia
in other words its useless, to me anyway
other than 2 player, which is crap by the way
anyone think otherwise?

I use it to put together races for the occasional photomode compatition.

This weeks being classic example, it was JGTC vs DTM, Arcade allows quick and easy access to a race with similar cars.

However, that is about it (oh and two player)

I race Arcade Mode far more than I do GT Mode.

You see, I'm pretty much "done" with GT Mode.. there's nothing left to do there. So when I want to do hotlaps of the 'Ring, or just jump into a random race (which I do fairly often), Arcade Mode is the way to go.

These days, I only go into GT Mode to pick up cars that aren't yet unlocked in Arcade Mode (mostly used cars or various dealer cars, etc).

I use arcade mode and GT mode, but a little more GT mode here.

I use arcade mode for the JGTC racing series I partake in. The host uses arcade mode to eliminate tuning abilities and base the series on the drivers actual ability to race. In arcade mode, the host can also set the amount of laps, so it is set-up to make all of the events about equal length, which is about 1 hour, and can choose the weight and power of each car, making the field more even.

I also use it for the World GT series.

I only wish that the A-spec points you earn in arcade mode were carried over to GT mode. That would make all those 200 point races I've done in arcade mode seem even more worth it. :irked:

After finished GT Mode I only use Arcade. I just do hotlaps mainly at the Ring. It's fast too setup and you know you get "equal conditions" because every car has same milage, oilchange etc. Don't have to go into setup and turn off Driver Aids either.

Have a question regarding Arcade mode. In car selection when you select Normal tires and then ROAD it says RD under tyres in the screen before you select A-Spec or B-spec mode etc. Then if you go to the quick tune it says you have Normal-Sports tires. Then you select Comfort or was it Luxury, and it will say N2 on them Main Screen afterwards. My point being 2 different tires are called Road at 2 different places. I assume Road tire is the N2, or what most of us assume is the most real life like??

With the arcade mode no longer being a part of completion, and the tracks all available in the GT Mode for "testing" cars, I've forgotten that the arcade mode is there most of the time.

It is no longer the challenge it was in GT2 and GT3. So it doesn't really "matter" as much. If you only did the track races in Arcade mode it was nearly 20% of completion in GT3.

All the time so i can get a 6 car line up at the same general level as my car. The i save replay, and take pictures. It's very useful to use people who spend time on there gallery. LIKE ME!

The only time I ever used arcade mode was when a couple of friends wanted to try out the DFP.

I've never really cared for arcade mode. So for me, it wouldn't be a big loss if PD ditched it in the next GT.

I really liked the arcade mode in GT3. It counted for 30% game completion and the races were fun, even though the AI kinda sucked. Now with GT4, PD dumbed it down way too much. The racing's not very fun, and I do my hotlaps on GT Mode. I only use it if I want to drift with the Holden Monaro. I hope they improve it in GT5.

I actually like the racing in Arcade mode.

First off, Arcade mode is very important for the sake of OLR.
Hotlaps and Multi-lap races benefit from several elements in the Arcade Mode.

All of the cars in the game are availible, which is a big "plus" compared to the arc mode from GT3 (although the exclusion of GT mode garage cars is enough to negate that "plus").

The adjustability of the arcade mode is one thing I really like about it.
Tire wear, number of laps, difficulty, all of that stuff is new to arcade mode.
Likewise, the detail in each of those is suprising as well... Time limits are new and multi-lap races benefit greatly from the system.

Contrary to the popular opinions, I don't find the cars in Arcade mode to be very bad.

Simply put, you just can't adjust them.
Otherwise, I find that the Arc cars handle almost exactly the same as their GT mode counterparts (stock).

My only beef with the Arc mode (besides no personal garage cars) is that you can not put racing tires on street cars (same goes for street tires on race cars).

Overall though, I feel like Arcade mode contributes to the game on several levels. 👍

Any one of you may disagree, but just so you know, I'm not alone.

And that's only for Time Trials!
Add in "single race" and you've got yourself plenty of fun if you can just get past the un-adjustable car suspensions (as well as the stigmas attached by the haters). :P

I´ve only tried some racing in Arcade once, and that was just to test the lower weight and higher power with R5 tyres for the FGT car. Fun!

Otherwise, I prefer GT mode for any testing, tuning and tinkering. And since tinkering and setups is what I mostly do, I need GT mode for that!.

We use the Arcade mode for some of our races in the WRS (see link in sig.) and it offers a level playing field for racing? I think it has some good uses

Kent I completely agree, I think GT4's acrade mode is by far the best we've seen in a GT game so far, it offers far more customisation than GT3's so I don't get why people call it dumbed down. The lack of GT mode cars is negated to some extent by the spot races in the GT mode, you can use your GT mode cars in them and select the AI difficulty. The only downside to thoes races is they're 2 laps only, I'd like to have been able to set the laps but thats why they only make up for it to a degree and not all the way. The arcade mode is imo the best part of GT once your done with the GT mode, however I haven't used GT much over the last couple of months, I keep meaning to sign back up for the WRS,I don't really have the time to put in to it but I'm going to have at least a couple of laps for each competition anyway.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if I remember correctly you can set the number of laps in Options then go to Arcade. Don't have my PS2 at hand here to confirm.

I only use Arcade mode for 2 Player Battle, me and my friend can get some heated Trial Mountain battles going. We always use cars from our respective garages, I usually pick my Trueno while he picks one of his bastardized creations that have WAY too much power. He wants me to tune his cars like I tune mine because he's tired of losing. :D

Your right about arcade mode races, but I was talking about the spot races in the GT mode.

I haven’t used it yet but now I’ve picked up some useful hints in this thread. I didn’t know that you could save replays in arcade mode:dopey: . Amazing that you still can pick up new stuff even after 100%.

arcade=LAN mode!!!!

I always use arcade mode before a LAN party to test the cars I've chosen for the races and to learn the tracks.

Racing against human opponents is simply GREAT!!!!

Yeah I definitely had more fun with GT3's arcade mode but I still use GT4's arcade mode for a quick race or two.

i've almost only been using arcade mode recently as i can get a fair race set up in minutes. Select the track and car...set the AI to whatever makes a good race for you (i tend to set it between 6-10...depending on the car)...take the aids off...maybe add some ballast...and off you go...

to get a decent race where i'm fighting with the AI all the way around the ring in GT-mode would take me about 2 days...
