Are Some Versions of the TT Demo Easier Than Others?

So I tried the german version:

3rd gear: 155-157 km/h
4th gear: 197-202 km/h
5th gear: cant rev it out, sorry

This means if you drive full throttle speed shifts between the two values.

I also tried my new japanese account:

But it did not download an other version of the game... Although I thought this would be the case... ?

So nothing to try here..

I take it this was with the stock car? You should try the tuned Z as well, since you can hit the limiter in 5th (which allows for a higher speed). At only 202 km/h, the speed difference may not even be recognizable, since there is only ~1km/h difference at the line when doing 230km/h.

I will go try on the US version in a few minutes and report the speed range I see while hitting the rev limiter 👍

Yes it was just the RED car.. I do the black one tomorrow...

Waiting for your values...

(Do you know why I still have only ONE version of the game although I set up a japanese account ? Should I set up an US Account to receive an other version ?)

I have no idea really. You made sure that you DL'd the demo under your JP account right?

In my case, the Japanese demo game icon has a bunch of Japanese writing, so it is easy to differentiate between the US and JP versions.

I setup the japanese account besides my german account on the same PS3.. so the game has been on the harddisc already... maybe I should delete it and then download with my japanese account first ?

There was nothing to download, the game was already there as I logged into the new japanese account then...

Strange thing is I searched the japanese store also and there is no download for the TT... maybe it is because it sees it already installed...

You shouldn't have to do that though. I downloaded the Japanese demo the day before the US demo came out, and had no issues downloading the US version the day after. I still can go back and play either version of the demo when I feel like it. So I'm not sure what the issue is in your case :indiff:

I see the difference is the order you did that (compared to me) I will delete it tomorrow and afterwards get the japanese demo and then the german one...
will see...

Whats your speed results now?

I just got done doing some testing, trying to be as smooth and straight with the wheel as possible to minimize any lateral load/friction.

Regarding the stock car, I got the same speed range as you for 3rd and 4th in the stock car. So with that said, it still cannot be determined what the cause of the difference exactly is, given that you can't reach the rev limiter in 5th gear in order see if there is a recognizable difference in speed - which would infer that there's (most likely) a inaccuracy in speed measurement.

Tuned Car:

4th gear - 178-182 km/h (if there is even the slightest amount of lateral g, the speed will dip to 177 though)

5th gear - 225-233 km/h (I'm looking forward to your findings on the PAL version :) If you achieve the same speeds, then who knows what is causing this, and/or if it's only an issue with the stock car  )

I will report the speeds of the tuned car tomorrow evening then... thank you..👍

Another test you could try in the different regions is using the back straight as a drag strip. Use a sixaxis with automatic gears and TC at default (7?). Reverse into a wall at one end so you are touching at a perpendicular angle and see what speed you hit the opposite wall at by pressing accelerator only with no steering input

I tried with stock on the UK version and I get approx 204.5 km/h in the normal circuit direction and 203.9 or 204.0 in the reverse circuit direction.

With tuned I get 224.0-224.5 in normal direction and about 222.5-223 in reverse.

I don't know if there is any difference between PAL, US or JP versions BUT out of the Japanese players 42 are under 3'24 when out of the US players only 4 are with 3'23.xxx.
I can't believe that Americans are so much worse in performance than the Japanese. I hope I didn't offend anyone by saying this.

I've said this in other thread, and i'm convinced that a fast ghost can change the complexity of the leaderboard.

If you logged into Zabeu's leaderboard 100 times a day like myself, you can see this.

Most hardcore players here use the bumper view, which isn't good for chasing ghosts, but i have a feeling most regular people use the chase view, and that makes it a bit easier to chase a ghost.

It becomes a game of beating ghosts, and that's where Takeuchi01 comes in.

I'm not saying the other guys are not good, but the ghosts definately play a factor.

In the american board i also notice that usually when the top time drops, the others will drop too.

It's all speculation, but i think it's something to consider. I hope i'm not offending anyone, but i doubt we would have 42 sub 3'24 players (in that region) if ghosts were not allowed.

But then i think about the Prologue rankings, and the number of japanese players high on the rankings was always higher than other regions, so skill is definately there.

Hi profi, you can download japanese version of the TT, you just need to find it in their store. :)
It's in one of the last categories in a folder called "PS3 DEMOS" . 👍

If you really want to test it you should get the Japanese demo IMO.

regards

Well I already tried to download the japanese version of the TimeTrial but with no success...

I setup a japanese account and logged into it. BUT to my surprise the TT was already there (Because I had it on disc with my german account already) so there was nothing to download. Instead I could start the (already installed) TT at once and drive....

It was the same version I already had....

What I am going to do now (before the TT ends) is to delete my TT with my german account and afterwards try to login as japanese and then try to download a fresh (japanese) version....

At the moment though even if I do a search in the PS-Store there is no TT-Demo offered anymore.... I hope it is because the operating system sees it already installed ?

If it is not there anymore (the japanese one) my only chance to try any other version would be to setup an US account and try to download from their store...

I really would like to try out any other version besides the german/PAL because I REALLY THINK THERE MUST BE A DIFFERENCE....
