Are you guys sick of the "I have a life, a job, a wife, a kid, etc..." argument?

Come on, these guys think they deserve to get an overly easy GT5 just because they "have a life", and always justify their lack of skill for the game with that.

For the info, I'm 37, I have a job, I have a wife, I have two kids, and I'm A-Spec 40 and B-Spec 40 now, with 1226 cars. 99% complete, missing just two trophies, working on the others now... Yeah, no problem, family's cool too, really cool, there is time for everything in life people.

If you are so mature, why bother playing "kids" stuff?

I'm really sick of that argument, really. Too bad, you "grown ups" just discovered modern video games yesterday...

GT5 is awesome, yes, flawed, illogical, but awesome in the final balance, you should try a bit harder, or maybe even your kids can help you out... ;)

Who ever said anything about wanting the game to be easier? It's p!ss easy as it is.
I think most people want the game to remain interesting for a longer time.

At least if they expect you to really collect more than a hundred nice cars without having to do every A-spec event a hundred times over. And that's where priorities, such as a life, a wife and a job come into the picture.

It's all a meter of opinion some people use this excuse some people don't.there's alleys time for gt5 in my life but more time for family:-)

By easy I meant "fast to get things", not the difficulty for the events", but I understand your point, just think that priorities are one thing, and whining with a "grown up" rattle is another.

Of course! But the "grown up" whiners, man... they really suck... they are even worse than the regular full time whiners...

This isn't really a GT5 relevant question so this thread should be moved or closed 👍

If that "magistral" remark you provided here was relevant, half of the threads now will be closed. It is about a select and refined group of whiners on GT5, but anyway, thank you for your invaluable thoughts.

I don't think most people have the time or desire to spend on the game to achieve what they want out of it and I'd have to agree with them. The majority of people have more pressing issues in their life than to dedicate so many hours to a game, just so they can afford or be at a certain level to buy a car.

You do realize how many hours you've dedicated to the game so far?

Oh. Okay. Didn't you you were gonna crack the 🤬 on me for a thought that I put out there. Next time when you are around I will keep my thoughts to myself.

Please never ask that again, that is taboo... :nervous:

Are you kids grown up or babies? If they are babies then you're a pretty poor parent swapping GT time for them.

Wow, now the preaching starts... I play when they sleep, and/or when they are at school, yes, I'm self employed so can spare some time, no slave chains around me, you know...

Also, GT5 is so amazing that it is the only video game I've put so much effort to since maybe, Metal Gear Solid on PS one, 15 or so years ago.

You will have chains one day man

GT5 is a game built to be played. If the majority of people want to complain about it being too time intensive, then that's their right. If you have the necessary time to devote to GT5, that's great, but ultimately it's PD's choice whether or not they want to make GT5 hardcore or accessible. Besides, conditions differ from person to person, and just because you can get 40/40 doesn't mean that other people just "don't want it enough". Personally I think the pacing is alright, but whining about other people whining doesn't help anything.

There it is. The piece of the puzzle left out, self employed, it helps a lot. The magical number is about 1300 hours. Most people cannot dedicate that much time to a game.

I totally understand, but the grown up excuse is lame to me. I know very hard working 18 year old guys that don't have time to play and don't complain about the game's involvement time.

On the whining about whining thing, you got me there. 👍

Even if I had all the time in the world.., I'm not going to invest 18 hours a day in a videogame. It would get really boring.

My issue is not with the amount of hours I have to put into the game to acquire the cars I want, but with the complete lack of of excitement the requisite processes require. This is a total u-turn from the previous FOUR games that had no problem providing both challenge and a feeling of reward at the same time. Sometimes frustration causes people to express themselves in a way that is more emotion than reason, but that doesn't mean their concerns are not valid. I understand how it might come off as whining but I really think this is a clear cut case of if it aint broke, why fix it?

I'm sick of people complaining in general not just those "mature ones", you play video game as entertainment don't let it become your life.

No, not really.

Why should it be a matter of "lack of skill"?

That's a very valid opinion. Not sure whether it's worth creating a thread over, but valid nevertheless.

I still like it. And the kids won't help me out anymore, as they've been temporarily banned from trading! I paid for the damn thing, so I get the last remaining slots before the 3rd! :sly:

Beats me how you can come to the conclusion that those of us who say "we have a life" translates to "Damn it PD, give us a game that we can complete in less than a week!".
I cant speak for others who say the same but, i am one of those who has repeatedly stated "i have a life", what i am trying to say is "i don't have the time to grind away to level up to 40, and certainly don't have the time to race a 24hr enduro...or even a 9 hour enduro, please give us a save and MORE content not less" Get it?

GT4 for me was perfect in the way we progressed, could do the licenses at our own pace and unlock more content instead of this $hit grinding farce, amount of content, saves during championship races, and B-spec option when pitting....why the hell they couldn't just give us a game with as much (preferably more) content as GT4 beats me. i would bet my house and everything in it, B-spec was made into a sub game because of the pi$$ poor content of GT5 to give us the illusion GT5 has more content than what it really has.

As you can see, i want MORE content and i am also not interested in collecting every car in the game in a matter of days, i couldn't careless if i complete the game in weeks, months, years or if i simply never complete it so long as i can play it at my own pace....playing a game at your own pace is a fundamental basic recognised by every game house on the planet proved by the fact that every game i can think of has the save option.

Try to be more understanding and not so assuming.

I just hope they realize they should be at a wedding shower or something and give me their racing wheel.

I think baby showers are attended by women, at least in Mexico, but if this is also around the world, you won't get many chances of having a wheel. Not many female players...
