The forthcoming update sounds promising. I almost purchased the game a few days after it released for consoles, but decided to wait as the bug reports kept escalating here and there. I can't wait to see what they've accomplished and then get driving myself, hopefully.

I wonder if it's all patching. Some development progress would be nice too, bringing closer those Japanese classics. I can wait for DLC though, optimizing performance comes first.

Well it appears that the Nissan GT-R Nismo is entirely awesome. Really great fun to drive round Nurburgring GP.

Actually made me do something I've never done before and that's adjust the TC during the race. I'd set it at 1/3 for the tight first 4 corners (for additional grip) then switch it off for the rest of the lap as it wasn't needed. I found the car has some nice lift-off oversteer without it.

Did I say it was fun? :P

I'm also finding races a lot easier/more fun in single-make as opposed to same class. The 12C sure seems a lot quicker than the Nissan...

Funny AI physics, the corner marker resists the Mclaren 650sGT3 lol.........It's like the AI cars are attached to an invisable elastic band..........Funny to watch! :P (I was in the Merc SLS GT3 behind and managed to avoid the chaos!)

Yeah, the disappointing thing about the AI physics is that they seem to have no regard for the laws of physics. I've seen them do some ridiculous things, usually after they've punted me off the track. :ouch:

That looks more like bugs in the code rather than deliberate physics programming. It should be reported on the official forums to ensure that Kunos is aware of it.

Is there roll over in AC ? looks like there's invisible forces keeping that from happening on the Mclaren ? The cars looks so light on that video

The tires would have blown to bits with such crashes ...

I performed a mighty barrel roll at Imola the other night, was practically flying. All I can say is the flying physics looked better than pCARS' but still not amazing.

Thing is devs cant win. They delay it= should have just released it so we can play it now then patch it later. No delay= can't believe they released it, should have delayed it. Personally I'm glad they released it.

Of course they can win, simply don't promise a release date until you are completely happy with it, if they don't set release dates then it can't be delayed right?
It's not our fault if someone says its ready but then they delay it. Come on.
At some point they have to have a date but really they know more than anyone when its pretty much ready. Again i'd imagine its the bean counters demanding release dates not so much Kunos.

As a Project Manager, I can vouch for the whole 'execs pressing for earliest possible release date' scenario but truth be told if game developers are consistently bowing down to the demands of publishers they need someone to strong arm the release cycle and make it clear that a specific date is achievable and that's what the aim is.

...Now where do I submit my CV!?

I wonder if some of it isn't just intentional, take Gran Turismo Sport, massive behemoth behind it huge franchise, there's no way they don't have the ability to not make mistakes like push games back. Is it a plan though? Withholding stuff only makes people want it more, do it a few times and you'll have the hype machine in over drive and people going crazy.
Its almost become a standard in the games industry, IMO, as much as DLC and paying reviewers.

Stefano's view on the matter was a little more sober, or down to earth if you will: :)
"Good progress on the tearning/performance on both consoles, good stuff and now off to Italy for 4 days holiday. ciao"
Back in Italy uh?

Gotta get some big ass FORCONE and wait for him if they don't give us the private lobbies. Vallelunga is like 2h and half from here

Don't really notice it when playing, but do in replays (which still have the stupid size cap on them - that needs fixing as well) and have to be honest it bugs me, so I'm glad its getting fixed.
What is the size cap??

Yep. The thing that AC really nails is the difference between road cars and race cars.
This is probably my favorite thing about AC. Each and every vehicle feels different to me in some way or another. I felt that @Ridox2JZGTE was able to pull that off in GT6 with his setup - to as much of a degree as was possible. It makes things feel more realistic when you notices differences, sometimes extreme differences between cars. Now, whether they're accurate to real life or not, I don't know, but they must be close when they're very, very, very close to the real performance numbers.

There is. This is a short capture of me driving an E92 M3 on my very first day of owning Assetto Corsa.

Around 200 meg on PC I believe and I assume the PS4 is the same. Which gets you around 3 laps in a time trial and at times under one lap for a 16 car race.

BTW - My apologies, I edited your post rather than replying to it and lost the video.

So you can't adjust the replay quality on the console versions? On PC I get tons of laps on High and 240 MB. Maybe the console version is set to Ultra? Can't remember how many laps I got with that but certainly fewer.

Ohh...That's what ya meant. Yeah... I think we can adjust the size on PC, if I'm not mistaken. I'm pretty sure I increased my maximum size. Not because I even knew what I was doing, but just because I figured "more = better". :banghead:

Well that's true, I'm glad I have it in my hands though. Maybe they should have released it as early access on console or something. I gotta say, when Kunos announced it would be released on console and in April I was really surprised, I imagined I would be next year.

If you want to input some real life data on the E30 M3 Gr A, hit me up on PM :), also have the Gr N E30 M3 as well.

For the video, holy crap, that car launched hard , but still weird spinning in the air like that, reminds of GT6 a bit when launching at Big Willow, AC is still better though. So far, from what I have seen, one of the best crash physics/roll over is GTA V ( shoot me  )

Well the Formula Abarth is really very good, with a good position for the non wheel FOV. Almost makes up for the Lotus F3 type cars awful FOV in dash cam mode...
Also only just understood that all the road feel and curb effects are still there even if on 0%, makes more sense now why i felt the road feel was almost over done as i was on about 80% road feel at one point!! It was like DiRT rally!

Yes, at least on PC 0 is the default on the road/slip/curb settings, anything higher is amplifying the existing FFB signals. At 80% I imagine it always felt like driving on a dirt road. Glad you got it sorted! I run mine at 15% for slip/curb and 30% road, I like to feel some feedback from the road surface.

From what I got ( AC car data files ), each car ( car.ini ) has specific FFB parameter like this :

[CONTROLS]
FFMULT=4.5 ; Force Feedback power multiplier

Not sure if this is when increasing from 0%, but it's more likely the car FFB specific value.

Ironic, since I quoted you and mentioned this 5 days ago:
I think I see the issue now if it works the same as on PC. Those sliders at 0% = FFB at 100%. So if you have something at 100% it's actually 200%, in effect. Those sliders only add to the FFB that is naturally there. Most of us that I'm aware of, run them at or very near 0% for that reason, we only want the natural FFB from the game we don't want to enhance it. It's probably not clearly explained in the description or not explained at all. As I said, if it's the same as on the pc version.,

In my response in agreeing with him, I specified exactly which part I agreed with and said it in plain english which, apparently, you seem to have issues with. Which parts of it are you having trouble understanding?
