Here's Marco's FB post. Lots of good news:

'A short preview on [some of] the things you will find in next update for Assetto Corsa on PS4 and XB1. Tearing issues have been solved, and the graphics is much more smooth in any situation. The smoothness also gives a better perception of visuals, and allows to feel a better car handling. Definetely a great step ahead, that will allow you to enjoy AC much more. The new build will feature 2 additional difficult levels, very easy and alien, and btw, all the AI levels have been balanced, that means that also the existing AI levels have been improved. Controllers: the issues with Thrustmaster T80, T100 and TH shifters have been fixed; gamepad speed sensitivity and steering gamma now work much better (we can't wait to receive your feedback), and a "reset to default" command has been added (where default means recommended). When you launch the game, now it recognizes and consider as default the device you use when you press X/A to start it (as it was designed, and it didn't work due to a bug of the very last minute..). This is the JUST the FIRST pass of improvements for the controller section, but not the LAST. We are already working to include new configurations and options for all the controllers and, BTW, thank you for your kind suggestions. Visual steering wheel rotation: as you might know, Assetto Corsa performs a full rotation of the steering wheel, depending by the car you choose, that actually helps to understand if you are steering too much, since the visual rotation matches the physical one. Said that, we recognize that gamepad users are not used to this kind of approach, and actually it can be weird by an aesthetical point of view. We added the option to lock the visual steering wheel, that will be setted by default at 360 degrees, and it works from 240 to 1080 degrees, so it can please any kind of user. Most important, we allow you to make your favorite choice.

As said before, this is just a quick update of SOME OF the things you will find in the next build. As you might know (but much probably not), the workflow needed to update a game on console is hugely different than on Steam with the PC version: is much more complex, slow and less dynamic. Also, it's something that - as developers - we are experimenting on console for the first time, since Assetto Corsa is our first porting, and believe me, Assetto Corsa is a very complex software. This is not meant to be a justification, but just a simple fact. Therefore I thank you in advance for your patience and passion, but you can be sure that Assetto Corsa 1.0 on PS4/XB1 is just the start. And, btw, the Japanese Pack DLC, the Black Cat County and Maserati Levante will be available very soon! Hopefully the new build will be available during this month: fingers crossed!

Thank you very much for the awesome way you are supporting us.'

Looks like the boys have been working quite hard and already addressed several of the concerns. Good to see. 👍

Guess more waiting time for me then >_> No private lobbies in yet.

Oh looking things in a positive light, i may be able to pick it up at a lower price.

Yes, at least on PC 0 is the default on the road/slip/curb settings, anything higher is amplifying the existing FFB signals. At 80% I imagine it always felt like driving on a dirt road. Glad you got it sorted! I run mine at 15% for slip/curb and 30% road, I like to feel some feedback from the road surface.

Yeah its a throw back from fiddling with PCars myriad of FFB settings (which i'm still doing, like a constant work in progress), if you minus all tire force you get nothing at all, as with FFB strength and with FY MZ etc etc etc, so to put something to 0 on AC and still feel something was mad!
As an aside stumbled across Ian Bell interview with Pretend Race cars of all places! And Ian says that one of the biggest faults of PCars was the FFB settings, pretty clear that PCars 2 wont have any where near the amount of settings to fiddle with.
AC is very simple, even DiRT was close to having too much to fiddle with. I like simple.

I thought there was an unspoken agreement on GTP not to waste any time or thought on the tabloid of the race sim world?
True, but that one is pure gold. He approached several developers for an interview and none of them dignified him with a response, only Ian Bell (of all people) agreed to play ball. He also keeps trolling the comments and keeps asking Austin for his phone number.

I respect Ian Bell for doing that, OK its easy to be honest after you've flogged all the DLC and GOTY edition, but at least he is bothering to still defend PCars 1 as well, would of been easy to just start the sales pitch for PCars2.
Anyway AC has confirmed for me at least just how great PCars really is, AC has also helped me see what it is i'm looking for in a FFB and for the most part I have it on PCars.
I think with anything as complex as these games and with the amount of cars, you have to realise some of the cars are just broken and no amount of fiddling will change that.
Keep playing around with AC but i'll wait for the patch and see what that brings, it doesn't sit there begging me to play it, but PCars still does for whatever reason.

On what days do patches and DLC generally arrive on the PC version or does it vary from month to month?
There might be a pattern but I think they just arrive when they are ready.

Ian's interview with trollface is about the only decent thing I've ever read there. Kind of odd that Ian comes across as reasonable and considerate when faced with an ubertroll but is prone to fits of craziness on his own forums:lol:

Which cars are broken in AC?

^^^ I cannot manage to drift no matter what I try. I have looked at tutorials and feel I have followed their instructions but continue to fail so badly.

Look up 'Farcical' in the dictionary and the example sentence would go like - Assetto Corsa players the world over look on in unison as ScuderiaPaul continues his farcical attempts at drifting.

I still go there from time to time, and never heard of this unspoken agreement before :P

Maybe we will see monthly updates like in Pcars 1 ?

When I was just starting out learning to drift I had a tendency to stab the brake with my left foot. I actually started drifting properly after I forced myself to remove my left foot from the pedals completely and start using the accelerator pedal as the way to control the car. That helped a lot.

In many ways drifting is like learning to drive a rally car: you have to stop, take stock of your natural tendencies from circuit racing, and be willing to change.

I'm not sure what you mean, that car is almost on a level of the P1 around the Nordschleife and can compete with GT3 cars. Yes it's more difficult to get under control than the P1/GT3s but it's still in that area regarding laptime
Not saying it isn't fast, just that when I had come from open wheel to that car, it was a shock how pigish it felt

That looks more like bugs in the code rather than deliberate physics programming. It should be reported on the official forums to ensure that Kunos is aware of it.

They may be running player physics on track albeit with unreal reactions, but on grass or gravel they're assisted by the hand of god. Go punt some AI off track and watch the replays. BTW i'm on PS4 - maybe we're a bit behind the latest PC AI.

Oh looking things in a positive light, i may be able to pick it up at a lower price.
I know that you're very anxious to hear private lobbies are added to Assetto Corsa, but I think you should probably get used to the fact that they aren't going to appear for quite some time, I think. The game has only been out 1 week now and they're still working on getting the patch to users to fix all the Day One reported bugs and issues. Then, there are always bugs and issues that Stefano would fix that we didn't even necessarily knew existed. They'd be more behind the scenes stuff, maybe optimizing the code for something or simplifying the way something gets calculated - stuff like that. Like when he knocked the sim community off their feet with the inclusion of "SIMULATION_VALUE=" which is probably single-handedly the greatest achievement in Sim history.

Anyway, what I'm trying to say is, I wouldn't expect private lobbies are going to be available in a month's time. Probably not even two months time. That's going to require a pretty major amount of work for Kunos - and while I do agree that they need to get it done - they always have to prioritize things. Oh, plus...I know that Stefano wants to get the console version to be pretty much caught up to the PC version, which totally makes sense. So that's going to take a while. And then with a crapload of DLC cars coming out soon there are always some problems that need to be fixed right away - little things with the cars, usually.

I don't mean to be a Debbie Downer, but in my personal opinion, which doesn't matter for much, I wouldn't be holding my breath on the addition of Private Lobbies coming anytime soon. I have no insider knowledge. This is just MY opinion on things...

Drifting is fun!

I can't drift. I'm okay with that because it's not my sort of thing. There are tons of people who do love drifting though, and that's totally cool... Since you appear to enjoy drifting, may I ask you, what do you think about drifting in Assetto Corsa? Do you find it good, bad, realistic, fake, too easy, too hard? I've heard several people claim AC is wonderful for drifters, but there are always people who love one thing and hate another and then vice-versa with a different group of people. So, what's your opinion?
