I know that you're very anxious to hear private lobbies are added to Assetto Corsa, but I think you should probably get used to the fact that they aren't going to appear for quite some time, I think. The game has only been out 1 week now and they're still working on getting the patch to users to fix all the Day One reported bugs and issues. Then, there are always bugs and issues that Stefano would fix that we didn't even necessarily knew existed. They'd be more behind the scenes stuff, maybe optimizing the code for something or simplifying the way something gets calculated - stuff like that. Like when he knocked the sim community off their feet with the inclusion of "SIMULATION_VALUE=" which is probably single-handedly the greatest achievement in Sim history.

Anyway, what I'm trying to say is, I wouldn't expect private lobbies are going to be available in a month's time. Probably not even two months time. That's going to require a pretty major amount of work for Kunos - and while I do agree that they need to get it done - they always have to prioritize things. Oh, plus...I know that Stefano wants to get the console version to be pretty much caught up to the PC version, which totally makes sense. So that's going to take a while. And then with a crapload of DLC cars coming out soon there are always some problems that need to be fixed right away - little things with the cars, usually.

I don't mean to be a Debbie Downer, but in my personal opinion, which doesn't matter for much, I wouldn't be holding my breath on the addition of Private Lobbies coming anytime soon. I have no insider knowledge. This is just MY opinion on things...

I can't drift. I'm okay with that because it's not my sort of thing. There are tons of people who do love drifting though, and that's totally cool... Since you appear to enjoy drifting, may I ask you, what do you think about drifting in Assetto Corsa? Do you find it good, bad, realistic, fake, too easy, too hard? I've heard several people claim AC is wonderful for drifters, but there are always people who love one thing and hate another and then vice-versa with a different group of people. So, what's your opinion?

I'll be waiting, but if it takes months for them to get that online part working I fear I'll skip the game because it's user base will dry up...

And that is saddening, really. If I was there in kunos, i would consider private lobbies as critical need.

Better having a stable or growing user base on console too, else who will pay for the dlc they'll push out?

If you skip on Assetto, that would be sad in my opinion, it's cost not even 50€ and it's the best driving physics and FFB on the console..

Since the 26th August when i get my hands on it i still don't have tried all the tracks, not even half of the list.
And same with the cars...
I'm just enjoying driving around a track, learning the behaviour of the car, learning the track with it and trying to improve my driving and times.
Then with the career mode and special events I've spent some great time and amount of hours.

Kunos nows that people are demanding private lobby's and they are working on it.
And when they achieved it,it will be implemented for sure.

I'm ones off the users ho really wanted private lobby's, but sincerely, the game hives me enough enjoyment offline to be able to wait until the implementation of them..

I've you can, give the game a try..you may change your opinion on it.

Haha i'm not really a "Drifter" @ALB123 , i just do it from time to time as it's something different to do. :P I know someone who only yesterday got the gold medal with 100000 points and 40+ combos in a row......I've managed 4 combos, and a bit of smoke up til now. As i said it's fun, but only for 10 minutes before it gets a bit boring, then i just return to do some hotlapping around Mugello......Wow what a track!

Mugello has become my new go-to test track. It's got a lot of very nice corners to put a car through its paces. Will try to learn Zandvoort next as I've never been round there and it looks decent.

Zandvoort's fantastic, especially for road cars. Do give it a try as soon as possible.

It's my "new" favourite track of the game (maybe after a classic or two, like Brands Hatch).

Graphical comparative from digital foundry between assetto, Forza 6 and project C.A.R.S.

My personal opinion is that assetto isn't that bad in graphics and certainly not "PS3 graphics" like lots are saying about it.
I would call them correct

And the pagani in assetto is the first i seen that simulated properly the aerodynamic rear flaps... Nice detail!

Interesting theory. Kunos says that their stats suggest only about 20% of users ever play online at all, but you propose that the lack of private lobbies will cause everyone to abandon the game in a couple months. Yet somehow there's plenty of people managing to have a lot of fun in AC even without private lobbies. Strange.

Assetto's moving aero looks better on more cars. But on the Huayra they apparently got the actual code from Pagani to put into the game, so that's why it looks so good.

I have economic issues and may be soon unemployed... So if I have to spend some money on something that I can make without (I.e. Games) I try to spend the least and the best I can.
It's sad when you are 35 and been working since 19 to be in this situation, trust me... Maybe all week settle soon and I'll find a new employment (stable I hope) soon and just take a gamble with kunos giving me what I need soon.

I'm addicted to online championship and racing with people here on gtplanet... If I have to race alone or with Ai pcars is enough for me.

I love organizing series and racing in them and so far I can't do that on ac...

Is that a figure of the PC, ps4 or x1 players?

How many of those not playing online are considered users that will stick to the game or buy dlcs?

In racing games or Sims there's always a certain amount of people that just "get the game" and rarely use it, or trade it after a few weeks.

In any case FOR ME the game is too much limited without online racing. And I'm one of those that stick to a game, organize and keep it alive with friends.

Sure it's perfect for any hotlappers out there, but I'm here on gtplanet to find people to race with in a safe, funny and competitive environment.

I may be the only one or maybe the game is not the right one for me?

As an online player I don't really agree with their claim, but for a long time that's what they've said their stats show them and is why they haven't put a huge emphasis on improving multiplayer. Based on the current state of multiplayer on PC I'd expect it to be fairly bare bones even when private lobbies do arrive, so I'd wager you wouldn't be to keen on it even if/when they get added. It's perfectly serviceable but doesn't have a lot of the features and functions one would hope for or expect.

I've passed a similar situation like yours! So i can easily understand your position.
So i really wish you all the best to get a better work and economic situation soon!

I know it's not ideal but thete are plenty of empty rooms which can be taken up by groups of players. obviously that isn't good for planning ahead or being able to adjust laps but you can still have sessions with your mates.

I totally understand @azidahaka -- for him the most important thing is to be able to create a private lobby that he has total control over, so he doesn't have to worry about some jerk host ruining things for him. I know he said that he's often hosted racing leagues with Gran Turismo and if he were to play Assetto Corsa he would like to be able to do the same. It really is a shame that he can't do that.

Have any of your friends that you race with in these GT6 leagues bought Assetto Corsa yet? If so, how did they like the handling/driving of the cars? Or are they all still on GT6 waiting for private lobbies to be added before they'll buy AC too? I've spoken with a couple of people who are ticked off about the lack of private lobbies - fortunately, for them, they've been lucky and have been able to eventually gain control of the room, I guess because they said they've been able to invite friends in or something?

I have no idea how it works on consoles and I'm guessing that's what he meant. How does it work? Is there a lobby/room boss who can set rules or change settings? And if he leaves, does the title of lobby boss move to the next person who's spent the most time in that lobby? Sorry for the ignorance on console online methods.

Gran Turismo Sport will most likely have exactly what you're looking for starting on the day you install it. Hopefully the delay isn't too long. :grumpy:

Thanks I really appreciate the sympathy, it's not a good time for me lately.

I was Hosting, racing and organizing on gt5-gt6 and now pcars... I never was serious about reaching into I signed up here and faced sine great and skilled guys with whom I got friend.

From a game it became a sport to me and I approach it the best I can and with the utmost respect to the racing etiquette and other drivers.

Most people I raced with are sticking to gt6 like @Stephen Vann but after i tried pcars I couldn't go back.

The experience was so insanely better I was unable to go back and I lost some good friends. A few of them went to pcars too, a few sadly left before the first fixes (ence the worry given with ac status) they others sticked and some extra friends joined.

Of those on gt6 a few found pcars too hard, of the guys I know from gt6 times only @svenvangent passed to ac.

Poor sven had the weirdest bugs on pcars and gt6 so I guess he may be a valuable debugging tool for kunos :D

Sooner or perhaps a bit later Karsten I think we will race online again , like you said ... having private online lobbies is a must have .
Lets see and wait what Kunos still can bring for Assetto corsa .
Changing from PCars to Assetto Corsa is/was the best thing I could do regards big bugs that Pcars had for me on ps4 .
Assetto Corsa is a good game love it and damn .... you have to take your time to learn car and track combo love it .
Wish you the best for the near future Karsten .

I'm pretty sure you'll find it in the second hand basket at your local game store soon enough for about 30 bucks. 👍

So my code for the prestige pack didn't work. I tried to install in on XB1 and I thought it worked, but the cars are still locked and it is not in the install area of my games and apps. It won't let me retype the code either.

Eh, here we have gamestop (i call them LADROSTOP, THIEFSTOP) they pay you 5-10E for a game they resell 5E less than new >_>
Well there are alternatives :D
Amazon, ebay, other stores that sell second hand games. I just saw it for 30- 40 bucks used on amazon for example.

That's odd. Where did you get the game from? I've seen people posting similar things in the official forum and Kunos support has asked customers to contact them about it. Worth doing.

FS7
Trading 101: do not ever sell your games to stores.
Selling directly to gamers is a much better deal for both seller & buyer.

I agree for the most part... I used to directly buy and sell used games over criagslist. Shipping got to be annoying and I met some less than trustworthy people.

Funny time was when I met a guy at a 7-11 (quick market) some police officers there saw me hanging around and met a guy who drove up. They came to bust us for what they thought was a drug deal. We all had a good laugh after that... It was cold and I was in a big sweatshirt with a hood so I guess I looked like a criminal.

I have actually bought games new from Best Buy on sale and they gave me the same amount (minus tax) back as a trade in. For most games I bargain shop but racing games like AC & Dirt Rally I go ahead and buy new to support them.

Either way I think as is AC is totally worth the full price they are asking ($10 less than other new games) for me.

So I made a huge mistake by not getting the racing legends pack on pcars. THE F1 GTR IS SOOOOOOOOO EPIC!! My goodness that car is wonderful to drive. Just spent the last hour doing 4 laps of the nurburgring endurance track and then watching the replay of my handy work.

May be one of my new favorites alongside the 190 e cosworth touring car.

Something about that GTR is unexplainably brilliant. Very precise, wonderful noise, when it does eventually go it's not hard to save it. I guess it's just the total package. If anyone has a car they think is better, let me know because I'd love to try it out

100% correct about the McLaren F1 GTR. That thing is razor sharp. It is absolutely amazing how well it performs against cars 20+ years younger. It was one of the first cars I drove in Assetto Corsa and it blew my mind. I really, really want the regular McLaren F1 in AC so badly. I suppose it's possible we may see it one day - or maybe if Assetto Corsa II becomes a reality in a few years maybe they'll try to license a new and exciting McLaren car or three.

Ah, the whole "finishing order isn't actually representative of the finishing order" bug bit me again. Not really encouraging me to continue with the career...

This post-race results setup is a joke. 👎
This is just me, but if I were a console player I would stick to races outside of career mode for now because you already know a patch is on the way to fix all those things that are funking up Career Mode. Aren't console players allowed to setup their own races at whichever track they prefer with whatever cars they choose?
