To be honest, us Aussies are used to getting a crap deal on everything from the videogame industry. It's always been like this. Even when our dollar is really strong against the US dollar, we're paying almost double what they do for everything from consoles, to games, to peripherals like wheels.

I can share the feeling, I used to work at Grace Bros, then it became Myer in Audio Visual Dept, back in Macquarie Shopping Centre - North Ryde, Sydney, NSW. It was different back then in early 2000 though, people could spent hundreds of dollars for gaming in one purchase ( usually during holiday ) Sold my 1st plasma and LCD tv there too. I still have memento from my old workplace, a sealed Wipeout 2097 PSX, The Need for Speed SE PC in pristine condition, also have GP500 that came with bonus T shirt ( rare gem ), they were in bargain bin :P Back then Aussie dollars was weaker than US :(

Aussie dollar's always weaker than the US dollar, but IIRC, back then the US dollar was worth something like 2 Aussie dollars. These days it's more like $1.30 AUD buys $1 USD. still, our games and consoles and stuff still costs twice as much as theirs.

STOP THE PRESS!

Here in the uk the game has dropped to £23.99 if you have PS Plus (£31.99 without). Offer only available until the 24th of November.

I'm tempted now. I might get a 14 trial of PS Plus & see if I can get Asetto for £23.99.

:D

That sale started a week ago. ;)

But anyway, just go for it. Especially if you're aware of the things we're still missing from the PC version and can live with that.

Best driving experience you'll have on consoles, hands down. 👍

If you like hotlapping I'd get it. If you're looking for online racing, forget it.

I used to chat almost daily with a dude from Australia in an IRC room from probably 1997-2002. He created a website in Australia called razorprices.com that combed Australian retail computer/electronics stores website's to help people find the best prices on computer components.

So, what was the cost of the console DLC "Season Pass" for Australians & Europeans in your local currency? What was it for Americans?

UK PSN price was £39.99 the season pass was £24.99. you could get the disc version frim Game for £37 which included all the bonus cars and Amazon had the standard version for £30 if my memory isn't letting me down.

Most so called AAA titles seem to be £49.99 on PSN although some are £54.99.

Yey, they're alive! :dopey:
I like the part where they mention v1.09 and console in the same sentence. Hopefully that does really mean we'll be playing the latest PC build soon. Although they'll probably just update the PC build a few times before we get the patch anyway lol

At least the version number will be on par with the Pc version... in content, its already know that it wouldn't be...

The PC version has already received 3 minor updates after 1.9 (1.9.1, 1.9.2 and 1.9.3) and will surely have an other the 20th November with the realese of Porsche Pack 2...

I know that, but didn't see anyone post it in here. I've been trying to keep up with this thread, but maybe I missed something?

The way I see it is that £23.99 is a fair price for a laser scanned Nurb virtual track day. It's now worth it to me for that alone. The £39.99 they were charging on PSN before is way to expensive for my poor old wallet to swallow.

It was mentioned here.

But yeah, with two or three threads going on (sometimes talking a bit about everything), it's easy to miss stuff. 👍

I have very high hopes on that number "9". :D

Trial should work, I did that to get Driveclub + Pass for peanuts :D

Game still has the prestige edition, now at £29.99 (started out at £42.99).

Today's community blog update, info about private lobbies within:

Read the same on AC 100000times about private lobbies...

If they would at least state something like "coming next patch" or coming new year, or we're almost there and having issues with X or Y...

This is not giving informations :D

Well, at least they talked to the console players. Its about time they have confirmed private lobbys and the ability to use dlc cars online. Despite that, this community blog has so many words and so little meaning. We STILL have no solid release date for the Porsche pack.

I also got DC & the Season Pass when it was on the PS Plus special, but I didn't even have to sign up for PS Plus! Must've been some kind of glitch or oversight on $ony's part.

Don't get lost in the paddock, I did :ouch: in the tourist version. It's really great with road cars but drop the tyres down a grade from the track day tyre option.

Quick race, you can choose start position, or random plus Race Weekend are really good against Alien AI. Choose one make races to get good races, same class can see you lapping cars or getting lapped. Seasonal events are interesting but variable in challenge and Career is not worth your time.

Some wheel options, track options and some setup options are not in the console game yet.

Three weeks in, still no solid date for PV1 on consoles.

How long are we supposed to keep pointing our fingers at MS and Sony, again?

The cost of the season pass for US customers, converted to Aussie dollars, is $39. In the Aus PS store it's $45.

I don't even play on console and I demanded them! :D I really hope you guys get 'em soon. 👍 Personally, I think you guys should get the Red Pack free as a Christmas gift from Kunos. :sly:

That would be the best Christmas present :gtpflag:

Gave Nordschleife a go last night in the BMW M4. So lush! What a gorgeous flowing sounding car. Force Feedback was beautiful on it. All this lovely flowing weight.

Am I right in saying the track is a lot narrower compared to GT5/6? Felt like it to me from what I can remember many years ago. I was quite shocked at the difference at first.

Don't forget the gst, brings it to $43.. and 2 bucks to put it in the Oz store :)

To be fair, a season pass isn't a great example of the way Aussie gamers have had to pay up big compared to some other countries. It's also not as bad as it used to be, although peripherals like wheels are still a lot more expensive here than a lot of other places. The CSW V2 springs to mind, at $600USD, puts it at $790AUD roughly, yet to buy the same product from the Australian Fanatec site, you're looking at $1000AUD. Or the Forza Motorsport CSW bundle, which is $1400USD, but jumps to $2300AUD for us.

Edit:

I don't think the track width is much different. It might just be the FOV making it appear that way. I recently bought a PS2 for my son, and played GT4 on it last night, and the Nordschleife isn't actually too bad considering the game's age. I didn't notice the track being wider, though it did feel much flatter than the AC version. But to be honest, that's not a fair comparison, since AC's version is practically perfect, and GT4 is ancient lol.
