Shame the prices are so high in Australia for physical things but damn do they have fantastic weather! I'd love to live there but not keen on the huge timezone.

Read the same on AC 100000times about private lobbies...

If they would at least state something like "coming next patch" or coming new year, or we're almost there and having issues with X or Y...

This is not giving informations :D
^ This. I didn't learn anything new. When is the date for console patch? When is the date for Porsche vol 1? I want to support Kunos and see them succeed. But this was just an attempt at public relations quick fix.

I did not know that.

USE OF DLC ONLINE
Another major talking point across our community channels revolves around the use of DLC content online. We understand that many of you have been keen to use your content online and haven’t been able to so far. However, this is going to change in a future update. We’re pleased to announce that once private lobbies have been introduced to Assetto Corsa, you’ll then be able to use your DLC packs online!

Just in case as I didn't know it was a monster post.

Hi everyone,
Back in August, as many of you know already, Assetto Corsa arrived on console. For the team, this has been a massive challenge and a venture into the unknown, but a challenge they’ve embraced. Since then, our community has continued to flood our social channels with praise, support and constructive criticism. For that, we want to firstly thank you guys. Haha, that depends which part of the country you look at. It never rains in about half of the country (the parts on the map that are completely lacking anything green), and is mostly ridiculously hot, so if you move there, you'll be very uncomfortable, and probably cook. If you move to the tropical regions, the weather is very nice and hot, but also very humid, and the weather is so feral that there are ample thunderstorms and it floods practically every year. Then you have where I live, in Tassie, in which we seem to have a completely different climate to the rest of the country, where we get a few weeks of summer every year, and the rest of the time it's raining. So it's practically England.

Edit: Oh, and in the short amount of time per year that it isn't raining in Tassie, the UV factor is off the charts, thanks to the weak Ozone layer over the state, so everything and everyone burns. We also get brutal bushfires almost once a year around that time lol.

People know about the stupid amount of deadly creatures we have in Australia, but not everyone knows that the weather is also often trying to kill you.

Is anyone else concerned about this bit:
"For console players, the first Porsche pack is on its way and we’ll be announcing a launch date as soon as we can."

Saying that, so close to when we're meant to be getting an update, looks to me like the Porsche DLC isn't coming in this update...

The cost of the season pass for US customers, converted to Aussie dollars, is $39. In the Aus PS store it's $45.
Geez. So, you guys even get screwed on digital purchases. Maybe 0's and 1's are more expensive where you are. I know that when it comes to physical hardware items you guys really get screwed. I've always guessed that it's because of having to ship items to Australia - possibly a bigger charge/tax is levied? I'm just guessing. If I were in charge of the world, I would have a policy that if you don't get bit and killed by one of the 100,000 deadly creatures roaming around Australia, each year you get a tax credit of $10,000AUD.

Actually, you couldn't pay me to go to Australia. I know its a beautiful country. The people are great. And I would actually enjoy seeing the things that Australia has to offer - it truly is a unique country - but I also know one of the things Australia has to offer is about 50,000 species of spiders. Nope. I crap my pants when I see a little guy half the size of my pinky fingernail around here. They're as big as cars down there. :nervous:

Australia has always been dogged with technology prices. We pay so much for everything, and as a result, I'm not sure if I want the first Porsche Pack - it will probably cost about $21.99, which is absolutely insane for something I'll only use once and never go back to. However, I really want to drive some of the most legendary and sophisticated Porsches ever built in a virtual environment. I guess that's what your paying for - the experience.

I had a black furry spider on the dash of a work van ( big Nissan Urvan 2.4 RWD with KA24E that can slide or peel out when it's empty  ) back in Sydney, just sitting there in the morning when I'm about to drive, had to get rid of it with a rolled newspaper  Live there for a year or more, you'll get used to spiders even in backyard :P

Hahahaha, well in that case I would definitely vote for you! It's not as bad as it used to be for most things to be honest. I remember back when the N64 first came out, my parents paid $500 for one for my Christmas present. The RRP in the US for the N64 when it launched was $199, so how's that for being ripped off? lol.

Australia has always been dogged with technology prices. We pay so much for everything

PC gear is the worst offender. I want to get into PC gaming, but half decent gaming PCs here are ridiculously pricey. Even buying individual parts and building it yourself costs three or four times the price of a new PS4, and that's just a half decent PC, not a top of the range monster.

It's fairly blown out of proportion to be honest. Do we have lots of venomous and deadly creatures here? Yeah for sure. Do we see them every day? No, in fact most Aussies probably see less than one deadly creature per year. Do a lot of Australians die from bites/stings from the many venomous creatures in our country? No, barely anyone gets killed anymore by snakes or spiders. Stay out of the ocean though, that place is ****ed lol.

A good example is the Black Tiger Snake. This is only found in Tasmania, and is quite different to the regular Tiger Snake found on the mainland. The Black Tiger Snake is much more aggressive than it's brown counterpart, and unlike most mainland snakes, thrives in cold, wet conditions, which means it doesn't need to sunbake to be dangerous. It is also listed as the 6th most venomous snake in the world. Despite being highly venomous, highly aggressive, and being extremely common in Tasmania, the last recorded death that I can find was from the 1920s. I've seen quite a few of them, as they're really common in Tassie, and I used to be an avid bushwalker. As with any deadly snake, you stay away from them, and they will stay well away from you.

Another example is the Red Back Spider. It's extremely common all around Australia, is highly venomous for a spider of it's size, and it's venom is a potent neurotoxin. For these reasons, it's potentially deadly, and believe it or not, but it's responsible for more bites to humans requiring anti-venom than anything else in Australia, at between 2000 and 10000 per year. Despite this, there have been no recorded deaths from Red Back bites since the 1950s when the anti-venom was developed. I've found Red Backs in my garden, which makes me a little uneasy, but thanks to my fiance being terrified of everything, our house is fumigated twice a year, so nothing gets inside alive lol.

I hope you're right, but if so, it's been very poorly worded. However, being Italian, it's entirely possible they could word blog posts and press releases in English poorly, and that's not their fault.

Gave Nordschleife a go last night in the BMW M4. So lush! What a gorgeous flowing sounding car. Force Feedback was beautiful on it. All this lovely flowing weight.

Am I right in saying the track is a lot narrower compared to GT5/6? Felt like it to me from what I can remember many years ago. I was quite shocked at the difference at first.

I played GT6 yesterday after a long, long time. All i can say is that the Nordschleife in AC is much closer to the real thing. Since 2013, a lot has happened in this genre, thats for sure.

@Mike_grpA Let's say you had a family member, or someone you really trusted in the US build you a computer and ship it to you. Would the shipping costs exceed the savings you'd get from the computer built at US prices?

So are we getting the first Porsche DLC in November or not? I don't suppose they gave a release date for the update?
We are getting Porsche Pack Volume 1 this month but unfortunately there is plenty of November left.

No update release date was given as presumably Kunos have not had one from Sony and Microsoft.

I'm not so sure about that right now.

If you look at the latest announcement, Novembre isn't mentioned anywhere... Question is if it's on purpose or not.

I'm not sure mate. Depends on the weight I guess, as I've had small things shipped here from various far away parts of the globe really cheap, but when I owned the Group A, there was a really nice turbo dump pipe and tuned length manifold combo I wanted from the US, but the shipping doubled the price of it, which made it way too expensive to be worthwhile.

I'd probably be more keen on having the parts all shipped before being assembled, so they can be more securely packed to avoid shipping damage to what are pretty fragile goods. I'd also have to remember to flick to switch on the power supply before I turned the PC on, so I didn't fry it lol (120V 60Hz USA/240V 50Hz AUS).

I'm hopeful for November, but I did notice the same excluded info...

This current situation is just frustrating because it seems unnecessary.

The more I think about it, you guys could have hit the nail on the head.

Evening will get pushed back then. I just want to have Porsche Pack Volume II by Christmas. I need the 919 Hybrid, 911 GT1 and 962C in my life!

If this is what it takes for them to bring the console version up to date with the PC, in every department and in one go, then I'm personally OK with some uncertainty and extra delay.

It would be an important and necessary move, in my opinion. It may hurt in the short term, but it will be much better for everyone on the long term.

But then again, it's a big "if".

I'm really surprised why they said patches had been submitted to Microsoft and Sony when it obviously wasn't after this announcement. I find that a little troubling.

Be honest, I can handle that even if it is a long wait. I cannot handle false/leading on statements that lead to nothing.

Maybe, as some have said, the patches were rejected due to problems, and that's very possible seeing the amount of "potential" content coming in them, and maybe a glitch was picked up...........

Who cares when they come, as long as they do, and the game then feels more complete. :)

That's also been bothering my mind.
Additionally my personal opinion is, that Kunos could kill alot of the frustration created by the "we will share when we can - soon" posts, by adding a short description.
Due to NDA/SLA/WHATEVER we're not at liberty to tell more at this time.

The total politician approach just drives questions.

But that's just my opinion

What kind of things causes declines for Sony and Microsoft? Unless Kunos notified both to not approve it?

What makes me mad is not that we do not have a release time.

It's that for the most pressing issues like private lobbies they didn't state a scale of time.

Not asking for a date, but it's it going to be days, weeks, months or years?

If it's gonna take 3 months or more just state it! Online on consoles can't get worst or more bare and empty than it currently is.

I wish this guys and pd had a work like mine where you have to give time figures as accurate as possible for delivering what you promised and of you fail you can get in such problems with customers your business may close down due to penalties...

No, wait better not to, else half of game studios would be closed down by now :D

No idea mate lol, but i think when a patch fixes/adds some things, it can sometimes break others....Something that Pcars suffered from at times.

I'm only guessing they've might have been delayed for that, but who knows??........

When the game was delayed 2 times were a lot of complains saying "it was better that they didnt announce any release date and launched the game when it was ready".

Dont understand the complains with the release of the patch. Dont know any game in console that gives release dates of patches, probably because they dont know exactly when it is going ot be released.

The patch is coming, thats for sure. So why keep complaining? Is like the kids in a road trip "are we there yet? are we there yet? are we there yet?". Relax, enjoy the game and dont give up to impatience.

Also im reading some thoughts that are dangerously close to paranoia. Why the publication of the last community blog contradicts the words of Marco saying that the patch was already in MS/SONY hands? In the blog there is nothing releated to the next patch, only the panamera and the silverstone track; that were already announced before.

@SlimCharles for POTUS:tup:

In b4 the inevitable, "I have a right to voice my opinion..."

It must be a monster download? :D

Has to be more than a gig with the two tracks and all the cars plus all the new tyre models and so on.
