Despite our best efforts, we are unable to launch our next major console update at the end of this month, as hoped. However, we’re pushing hard and fingers crossed, we should have a release date to share with you all very soon. We’re almost there!
Thank you all so much for your continued patience and support - It means so much to the team!
This update is full of incredible content and features, including Custom Online Lobbies, Custom Championships and much more. Stay tuned for more info...

Well, it's not really a surprise they wouldn't make it happen in April, but it's looking good at least.

:D

It looks promising but the second image looks like 'select model' is all about setting up one-make races. I hope we can compile the grid down to every car.

I see you can change the track "speed" Does that mean we will be finally able to do this in single player too? I hope so! Hopefully we can adjust many other things too..... :) Looks like the wait was worth it! ;)

#ACVersion2! ;)

Nice! I can't see any reason why it shouldn't make its way to singleplayer too. If the lobby car selection screen works the way I hope it does, the ability to choose between all cars and liveries would also be a game changer for singleplayer. Who doesn't want to drive a lonely Abarth 500 during a Group C track day? :D

Fingers crossed there's no real nonsense once the update arrives.

Actually that's pretty much how it looks on the PC side and you can add any combination of cars you want. You click the car you want in the left column, pick the liveries you want in the center column, they show up in the right column, then click on another car, select liveries, they show up in the right column, repeat until all grid slots are filled. Hopefully it functions the same on consoles.

Sweet! I hope everything works without any issues. The wait will have been worth it. I don't mean the 9 month wait, but the fact that this update is taking about a month and a half to two months longer than we thought. I think you guys are going to love being able to lower the track surface from a 100% perfect track surface. Even if you only lower it to "Fast" which is like 98-99% instead of 100% like you guys were confined to, you'll see a bit of difference in your lap times. I really think you'll all be pleased.

I can't remember the exact details of the different surface conditions we have already on the PC version, but I think it's the surface condition called "Green" that starts off at like 94-95% but gradually gets better over time. It's not 2 or 3 laps...I'm talking about 10 laps or more, I think. I'll try to find out the exact definitions of these different surfaces, unless someone knows and can post the info here.

As far as I'm aware, console players will be getting the custom/private lobbies, custom user created championships, every remaining car upgraded from v7 to v10 tires, every car's inertia values recalculated (more accurate), the ability to finally change track surface condition....anything else? That sounds like a pretty sweet update. Oh, the cars too. Mazda 787B, Miata and whatever other assets consoles are currently missing (are there any others?)... 👍

It really sounds sweet and i bet it'll be once we finally get it...

Maybe i should start planning some serie already?.... mmmh better not yet until we get a release date, Kunossoon is quite slow so far :P

That's good, really good. Shame about button mapping but at least two major features are out of the way now.
Yup... After that Stefano casillo given 2 replies that makes think that they don't even want to introduce one of the most demanding features from the console version users community.... :

Lets hope that the user re-ask for the features and report missing buttons or not working good as intended buttons and they change their mind giving us button mapping.

It's disheartening and frustrating to hear Stefano say he doesn't think button mapping is necessary.

The part about reporting the "problem" in a new thread is pathetic, too.

Maybe we should, indeed, open a new thread saying:

"It's a driving sim, therefore it needs button mapping. In fact, you already do it on the PC, so you must understand its importance. Can't be rocket science, too, since everyone else does it. Have a nice day."

Hmmm that's odd, in the end of year blog it says something about controller customisation. This doesn't bother me that much currently but it annoys me that i cant turn TC off on the fly in the LaFa. I cant imagine them ignoring this request forever. A petition posted to their FB might be handy.

I opened a request feature tread asking the community to reply in it asking button mapping in a polite and respectful way and also to report the missing features, not working as intended features on the 3 wheel preset buttons layouts.

Let's us hear once again and change kunos devs their mind giving us one of the most demanding features from the console players.

Thanks in advance to everyone ho want to try to help with this.

I don't understand what is so difficult about allowing custom mapping. Well, at least limited custom mapping. Like, you're given presets (GT Racing) or (Hybrid Racing) and some suggested layouts, but what the hell is the reason you can't swap L1 and R1 for L2 and R2 or whatever?? My comment about the racing type presets to choose from is because you aren't going to need MGU mode swapping or DRS mapping if you're racing GT3 cars, ya know? Heck, on my DFGT I would die without my ABS adjust, TC adjust and Turbo adjusting buttons exactly where I want them. I feel for all of you affected by that.

Woah... That guy is a little detached. I don't really do the drifting thing, but seriously they have been all over telling Kunos how important custom button mapping is..

How on Earth could they still not have it in this huge update?

Don't get me wrong, I'm excited for this update and will be on it as soon as it drops but, button mapping not important? Geez...

I hear you. I really wish I could find out the precise reason behind the refusal to implement button remapping. I have many ideas in my head due to my personal experiences as a programmer, however, I worked in the Financial Services Group of an enormous corporation.

God, I hope these custom lobbies work as intended and people are very happy with them. Also, I hope this update comes very, very soon for you guys.

It's obvious there must be some kind of difficulty, or it would have been implemented already.
No sense.... Stefano replied he can map the buttons on the wheel.

He just don't want to lose time coding personal Button mapping....

What is worse, it's in PC version...

His manners to talk to the community also let desire quite a bit...

He wants treads reporting the wheel buttons layouts... Well hopefuly they fill the support forum full of them.

The Button Mapping becomes important on Cars with TC AND KERS. Like the P1 or FXX K.

Cause i cant turn off TC with those cars unless i disable it completely.

Also had asked on YT and they said getting official liveries is pretty difficult.

Which i somehow understand now, but isnt this free advertising for everyone involved?

Its especially disappointing with the 488 GT3.

Its good to see they throw us a bone with the next update and hopefully the next DLC shortly after. The Livery Issue could easily be fixed through some shared server where People could upload Liveries like its with Forza but yeah im more likely to go full on pc before that ever happens.

The way Pro Evo deals with unlicensed kits would be a good way around this.

I think a lot of times the liveries are owned by the individual teams so they'd have to track down and get in contact with each team to get permissions (and possibly each sponsor shown on the car), and some of the teams could probably care less about free advertising as they're not really selling anything other than sponsorship slots. I read somewhere recently that Martini actually have a patent on their blue/red livery theme and are very protective of it. Probably just one of those things that's way more complicated than it seems on the surface.

Has anyone been able to decipher what Stefano tried to say after the shocking "not necessary" part?

This is in my opinion the biggest problem with the lack of custom button mapping in the console version. As you imply, there is a handful of hybrid cars with multiple TC levels we don't get to experience because MGU settings overwrite the TC command. Unbelievable if the next update hasn't fixed this particular problem.

Well seems that the console version users community on the official support forum are opening treads and asking for fixes, new presets and button mapping.

Stefano casillo replied that tomorrow morning he will have a meeting with the team and look what they are going to do...try to fix and improve the presets or make fully custom button mapping.

Can you guys/gals not adjust the TC setting in the car setup? Should be under the Electronics tab I believe.

This quote is hilarious:
"But you need to check your attitude because between your broken english and rude language you're walking a very fine line"

So Stefano adds being a hypocrite to his list of interesting personality attributes, along with his arrogance, superiority complex, paranoid delusions, and being a complete gentleman's sausage to everyone who doesn't treat him like he's an actual god.

Pretty glad I bought AC pre-owned, because even though it's a good game, I really don't want to give money to the likes of Stefano.
