Yup, true, that is a point i like from assetto, the attention to detail, and indeed, in Assetto the audi quattro don't have a E-brake as the real life car, but other games yes do put an E-brake in those cars.

That corroborate what i said before and that is none sim game is perfect really.
Not only do they only put e-brakes into cars that actually have them, but they're all individually set with a unique amount of braking force. It's not just a generic setting for each car. You'll find it in brakes.ini (HANDBRAKE_TORQUE=) for those interested.

Now they are pushing for another 50% off PS4 Sale on Twitter but still no News on the Update. This is not only disappointing but a joke. Next week its the mid of may.

Im seriously considering going on PC in 2-3 months and saving up for a decent machine.

Atleast there the Community speeds up certain processes with their own patches. Not to mention that Kunos takes a Year for a new Track and only drops like 3 DLC per Year

Yeah, I think this week is already out in terms of a potential update release. That puts us into the second half of May for it.

Maybe the hope is that another sale will bring in new players to make up for any leaving?

Meh. I mean, I'm sure it's different now than when I did it a decade ago, but I found PC gaming exhausting, always having to hunt down mods/updates. There certainly is appeal to it, but on the other hand, the quality is all over the map.

That's one area I can't really fault Kunos. Yes, the DLC output is less than some of the competition, but I can't expect the team to compete with a big first-party company like T10.

I think there are far bigger issues with the console versions of AC than post-release paid content.

From December 2015 to December 2016 (one year) we got at least six DLC packs (DP3, Red Pack, Triple Pack, PP1, PP2, PP3).
Fair enough. But in that Year they only added 1 real world Track while wasting resources on BCC and Highlands. And its 5 Months since the last DLC was released.

And 9 months since Console Version was released. A Child is born in that Time but no private lobbies :D

I wouldnt be so disappointed if i didnt see the Potential of the game.

I don't find it to be too much of an issue. I only get mods from RaceDepartment and you get a notification any time a mod gets updated so it's easy to stay on top of them. And mods aren't used online all that much so it's rarely an issue (in my experience anyway). I agree that PC land isn't quite the garden of sunshine many console players think it is, but I don't really put much more effort into it than I did with consoles. And PCs are so robust now that the whole "obsolete as soon as you buy it" thing isn't much of an issue anymore either, I expect my current PC to be quite capable for several years without a need to upgrade anything. The big downside to PCs is that the community isn't nearly as large and it's fractured amongst the various sims and it often seems like if someone plays one sim they hate anyone who plays any other sim, it can get pretty toxic.

It's odd and impressive how much they achieved in that period, and that was before Digital Bros came into the picture. We're almost halfway through 2017 and not much has happened on the PC front so far. I wonder if this could mean that Digital Bros is pushing for AC2, forcing Kunos hold onto more content than usual. There should be a new car pack soon though.

I quite like Highlands, definitely not wasted resources IMO, but to each their own.

And its 5 Months since the last DLC was released.

Yes, a bit slower than their normal schedule but I think most of us expected a lull after the Porsche bonanza. But since the last DLC we've received three free cars and a free track with four configurations, v10 tires on all cars, reverse grids, pit stop strategies, and custom championships, and we're scheduled to get major AI improvements and a new DLC pack this month, so it's not like they've been completely sitting on their hands. I'm one who far prefers features to be added than just cranking out more DLC, but again, to each their own.

We're almost halfway through 2017 and not much has happened on the PC front so far.

See above, there's been a lot happening on the PC front and as far as features go I'd say 2017 has been the best year for AC so far and we're not even half way through it.

wasting resources on BCC and Highlands

In your opinion, of course.

That does sound a lot easier than it was in the F12k2 days. The issue there was that mods were used online a lot, and that meant everybody involved making sure they were all on the same page.

Agreed that things aren't obsolete nearly as fast as people think. Sure, if you're wanting to keep on the bleeding edge of PC gaming performance, you'll have to upgrade often. But in general use? Pfffft. I do a good chunk of my graphic design work on a Mac Book Pro from 2009!

The big downside to PCs is that the community isn't nearly as large and it's fractured amongst the various sims and it often seems like if someone plays one sim they hate anyone who plays any other sim, it can get pretty toxic.

Well in that sense, it's really not very different from console land, then!

That can definitely still happen, if you have an older version of a mod and try to join a server with the updated version you can't get in. Or if someone is using a mod from one of the Facebook pages that you have no way of finding then you're not joining. But getting notifications on RD whenever a mod is updated does a lot to help you keep up on them, and it's so quick/easy to download and install them that it doesn't take a whole lot of effort. That being said, I've also spent whole afternoons just downloading and trying out various mods.

I'm sure if I branched out into other, more demanding games I might find stuff I need to upgrade. But I only do racing games and the current ones aren't terribly demanding on the hardware, and if anything will just get more efficient (hopefully) over the coming years so I should be good for a while. Hopefully. Maybe.

No, not really, but some of them do take the toxicity to a new level.

Agree that we need a more consistently timed real world track releases but completely disagree about wasting resource. Any racing game with road cars and only circuits is not a great combo. Sometimes it's nice to just drive and I've been looking forward to Highlands for a long time.

The reason why BCC isn't a waste of resources is because it wasn't made for AC but for AC Pro, specifically at Porsche and Maserati 's request. Kunos decided to give to the players. Kunos aren't only in the business of making games so that may be another reason why things take longer than other devs to get things done.

Sounds bloody brilliant. Might be the update to get me back into online racing. Particularly like these:

"COCKPIT VIEW ADJUSTMENT

It will be possible to adjust and customize the cockpit view during a game session."

"CUSTOM CHAMPIONSHIPS

Create any number of championships with any number of events. Configuration options include: opponent cars, skin and names, tracks, track conditions, race and other sessions' duration, point system. (3 presets)"

:D

Just remember that the custom championships is likely only for offline play, not online.

Glad they took the initiative to allow for FOV adjustments in a session. Also on Marco's FB he was asked if this means the patch was approved by Sony\MS and Marco replied "in progress". Interpret that to mean it's been submitted or they're close to it.

Good, today's replies by their official FB account have been unnecessarily vague on this subject.

I really dont blame them going by the fact they couldn't make the April release date and by all the whinners on their page. Whatever ever they do people whine. We want lobbies -Kunos give us lobbies, Whiners=shoulda been there at the start. Players - just give us some info Kunos, Kunos give info - Whiners=give us all the bloody info. Kunos give all the info- Whiners = They're just pushing their DLC ( ahem all free). Dangling a carrot in front of us, they haven't been doing anything.

You can read all those comments on todays update, whinners whinning about Kunos pushing DLC and not really working on fixing the game. It's as if they can't read but can write.

Did we know about this "COCKPIT VIEW ADJUSTMENT" before? It's the first time I'm hearing about it... Very nice. 👍

But I have two questions about it, maybe for PC users: 1) can these adjustments be saved, and per car? and 2) can these adjustments also be applied to the dashboard view?

On PC,

1) Yes, they can be saved per car.
2) No, the dashboard cam cannot be moved.

1) can these adjustments be saved, and per car?

Yes, at least on PC. We can move the seat position up/down, left/right, forward/backward and adjust the pitch/angle.

and 2) can these adjustments also be applied to the dashboard view?

Kinda. On PC if you adjust your FOV setting it will adjust the dashboard view but the normal onboard settings app you use to adjust seat position has no effect and adjusting FOV only moves it forward/backwards.

Thank you, both.

Some cars could really use some kind of adjustment on the dashboard view... The AE86 comes to mind:

I can't drive this car in this view - I'm always stretching my neck to try and look above the dash.

Truth be told, though, in the vast majority of the cars the view works just fine.

Just be warned that adjusting your view can become a mini-game in itself, I'm always tinkering around to get just the right view and even though I'm happy with it today I may change my mind tomorrow and tinker with it some more.

Ok, this is will make me buy AC as soon as the update is out. I hope you read it Poly! Not everything has to be online.

On PC camera movement and fov was available.
Stefano confirmd the better VoF and the cockpit view adjustment for consoles a month ago or even more... We don't know if it will be the same as on PC version.
We still don't have chasecam adjustments as in PC either...

We also know from Stefano that the brake pressure option will be implemented in every car in this update also...

But like always 505games don't maked a complete chancelog like kunos do with PC version.

Just like in the forums... We still don't have a list with the reported bugs and issues.. And wich are being worked on or get fixed in which update....

3 month's ago the CM said that they would do that.... But there we are still waiting...

Maybe soon or very soon we will know more :D

Well if that makes you buy it then it's worth considering buying now as it's currently £15 on PSN.

@Donnced it's like they had an agreement lol. Perhaps it's something Kunos can work on hopefully. In the end of year blog it says we can expect it to get better (Custom championships)

As far as I'm aware none of the current sims feature any kind of custom online championship or anything similar to it. It's just pick a track, pick a car, set a number of laps (or time), and go race.
