Got some low frame rate issues again at Spa, but this time caused by the whole AI field exiting the pits as I was approaching Eau Rouge. It's definitely a problem area, but as long as I disable pit stops there it shouldn't happen again.

In fact, I might disable pit stops for my usual 20 mins races as I just did a championship race there, started 20th, rain came at the end of lap 1, every AI car pitted for wets, I stayed out without issue, the rain stopped lap 4, they all pitted for dry tyres, and then had to pit once more when the mandatory window opened.
I won by more than 1 lap so was not the most exciting race.

I wish the AI would give their dry tyres a chance just as the rain starts, they don't always need to pit.
I usually just pit when they pit if I can on the same lap or the lap after just to keep the race interesting when rain starts to fall.

Moved up to 5th on hot stint, hard work this lol
Wow great control, you take way more speed through eau rouge (I have to brake and down shift to 5th!) and on the last quick left before the bus stop chicane you are flat and I need a fair lift. Well you're probably quicker in every corner to be fair but those 2 stand out

I couldn't get through Eau Rouge flat with either of the stock tunes.

I used this one... it's not ideal as it's for the PC and the car feels VERY stiff... 20s off @Zakspeed_TV but still in 47th place.

This tune will run 20's, and go flat through Eau Rouge on lap 1 with cold tyres. I'd love to try something better ;)

I have seen this quite a lot, people putting high spring rates and ARB stiffness on the rear of the Porsche, I guess with the rear weight bias it can take it and maintain traction, but you probably need to be a very positive and attacking driver to get the most from it, I'd probably just end up spinning

You'd be surprised... it's more about controlling the understeer than oversteer!

Frustrating hour and a bit...

1st, I try a 30 minute quick race at Barcelona, starting at the back, 95/85 AI... AI get in to all sorts of problems at the chicane on the run to the start, I'm stationary waiting for them to get going for ages, and go over the line 26 seconds after the 'green' call. Oh well, no problems, I'll just complete the race to keep the SA improving... but... AI decides it doesn't want to be overtaken in the final chicane, tries to cut the 2nd apex to get back in front and and launches itself off the sausage kerb straight in to the side of my car... then all his mates proceed to run in to both of us... -2 SA points.

So I go on line to Silverstone. 1st attempt, pull away and I get the FF bug on the lead to the line, have to stop the car to reset it, end up at the back of the grid, then everyone gets teleported to the pits for some reason. 2nd attempt I get away ok, running 4th with the leaders half way round lap1, 2s+ gap behind... get to the entry to Vale (the chicane), brake, turn in and WHAM!, I'm T boned by a Huracan seemingly on an attempted land speed record run. I watch the replay whilst my trashed car sits at the side of the track... it seems the knob sack who hit me was attempting revenge on someone he'd had a coming together with at Stowe, and missed... in all honesty, it was a pretty impressive accident, as, like above at Barcelona, his car launched off the sausage kerb at c.200kmh and hit mine broadside, about level with the drivers head, and continued over my car. -1 SA point.

Had an interesting bug this afternoon as well... I use interior cam without steering wheel. Occasionally, a pair of phantom hands appear using this view, but a quick cycle through the views has always restored normality. Not this time though... cycling through the exterior views was fine, but when I got back to the interior view I had virtually no interior, what I did have was flickering like a strobe light, and I could see inside the front of the car (not the engine as I was driving the 488). Had to re-start the game.

Yes the two points you mentioned are probably the most important for a good time too. So need to be taken flat or at eau rouge just a little half throttle, a good setup help's
I used aggressive setup as a base and made a few tweeks, trying to get it fast but consistent too. I have loads to improve on this stint, my mate who is top is using it too. Could do a setup video if you like 👍

Yes I had the hands bug, I thought I changed my view by mistake at first, then thought I was tripping, then realized it's just another bug

That would be awesome your car looks really planted

Will be giving it another go this weekend 👍

The only time I've seen those ghost hands is when I use a custom livery. Not seen it with an official one on the car. Are you using custom?

“Pretty much 60fps“? Very doubtful of that. Surely I can’t be the only one who hasn’t noticed a huge amount of difference on Pro?
I've just checked using the video editing software I use and from a 60fps capture its still got a static frame between every frame that changes, so its still at 30fps. It does however seem to be a more stable 30fps, but its certainly not 'pretty much 60fps' at all.

Do you have the console in 4k output, because it's only the 4k mode that improved framerate (but with a bit more downgrade of graphics/details) ?

In 1080p mode it's pretty the same as pre patch

Very interesting. What mode is your PRO in? I have mine forced 1080p as I don’t have a 4K tv. There are a lot of people in other threads saying they can notice a huge difference, some claiming it’s near 60fps. Placebo effect because Publisher said so?

Then again as I’ve said before, I never had too much of an issue with the performance beforehand anyway.

Set console in 4k mode , then you will see the fps improvement

I have just ran some hotlaps with the new update and it is a lot smoother both in game and in replay.

Very much closer to 60fps rather than 30fps.

Will have to try a race to see with other cars but so far- awesome update!

ps4 pro - 4ktv

Solo car or with AI? If 30 is confirmed (It is a lot smoother for me) then perhaps the frame issue identified in this video from Digital Foundry might have been the problem?

From about 17:10 into the video.

Can’t. As I said, my TV is 1080p max so it won’t let me select 4K. So does that mean I don’t have a choice between better frame rate or better resolution?
