As a Southern Australian it's always worth a laugh listening to Europeans who are lucky enough to still live in their native climate complaining about 35c days... lol

You get back to me when it's over 45 and then you can start to complain. Maybe..

I expect the 200 or so people who live in Death Valley say the same about Southern Australian’s ;)

It received v.1.01 at launch (changing game core version from 1.2.2 to 1.3.7 and add intercontinental DLC,what was free for preorders)

Then the 1.02 hotfix fixing cars livery editor

And last in middle-end of July the 1.03 with performance improvements, new FFB settings to suit console feeling and ability to pay for dedicated private servers (trough external servers hosts websites)

Still good Amount to bugs and issues to fix..like headlights beam issue, some wheel compatibility, save file that get corrupt in championship mode, having more than 150 friends on PSN make crash the game in multiplayer.

That are the "big ones" ...then you have minor issues and bugs like trophies that don't unlock, lap counter bugged, AI in some starts need tweaking ,etc, etc.

Performance on PS4 Pro is really nice now in 4K or supersampling in 1080p (if you don't have a T500 wheel) getting around 50-60fps (in normal 1080p with better graphics details it's as standard PS4 performance )
On standard PS4 it goes from 30-45fps

Great SIM that needs some work done, now in September there will be 1 or 2 updates bringing the GT4 DLC and game core version moving forward from 1.3.7 to 1.5.x (and hopefully bringing some bug and issues fixes)

Cheers for the info - it might be a case of getting this before PS5 then...i cant see many great racing games coming out between now and next year. (im bypassing the disappointing looking pCars3)

It's OK, we do the same with Australians over here when they moan about it being cold in winter.

Just got this today for £25, and i'm having a lot of fun with it. Because I don't have room for a steering wheel set up, I have to use the DS4 controller. I'm also starting with Assists, but as I play more I will turn more assists off. The sounds on this game are* amazing, and it looks pretty good too. Loving the flow of the races.

Really happy with this game, I think this is going to end up being my most constantly played racing game of the PS4 generation. (Not including Rally games) and will keep me happy until GT7 releases. My first drive was in the NSX GT3 Evo, on a Hot Lap at Spa. About to do a race over at Brands Hatch Night in the 488 GT3 now. Going to get the DLC when i get payed too. Nothing but positive things to say about AC Competizione so far, loving it.

Hey all,

I made upgrade from T150 to CSL elite PS4. Yesterday it came and i updated firmware with last version which is out few days.
I used Fanatec recommended settings for GT sport and ACC. In GT sport i got great FFB feel but in ACC it's worse than my old T150, I can sense rumble inside and FFB is weak, i can barely sense anything.
Do anyone have similar problem?
Pedals with loadcell works great in both games.

Hi, you could send a private message (start a conversation) to user @DomB_Fanatec. He works for Fanatec and can help you diagnose your issue. Maybe it's an issue with the beta driver.

@Zakspeed_TV had issues with weak FF in his CSL... I think he ended up returning it.

Well i solved the problem :)
Before with T150 wheel i created ffb ingame settings and stearing wheel angle for each car.
I used the same setups with angles and put 1080 steering on wheel settings, but it didn't work, my wheel was not aligned with ingame wheel, dunno why and ffb was weak.
So i put 1080 in game settings and manual entry on csl wheel for each car, and ffb kicked in :D it's a hassle for each car change steering angle on wheel, but it works now :)

I am at the 2 h mark in the French career race. Gradually my car started to wobble in the corners. Is this due to the marbles on the track. Quick races and time trials are fine. I also have fresh tires and no damage on the car.

Becomes rather undriveable.

Sure you got fresh tyres, you didn't use them in practise or qually?
Or maybe you got the wrong brake pads, you don't want set 1 (or 4) for an endurance race. In fact, you don't want 4 for anything.

Oh man the brake pads are different? I know engine mapping but didnt realize those brake settings were a type.
I only do short quick races at the moment, I just dont have time so never noticed.

Is there a list of the brake pad types?

Edit - I found it.

  • Pad 1: Very aggressive friction coefficient, max braking performance, aggressive disc and pad wear. Pedal modulation can be tricky if out of temperature or as it wears down. Use in hotlap and qualifying sessions, sprint races and can withstand 3 hours races. Risky and dangerous to use over 3 or 4 hours because the pads will wear down, overheat and lose linearity in brake pedal feel.
  • Pad 2: Very Good friction coefficient, very good braking performance, good disc and pad wear. Pedal modulation almost always good and linear, good feedback while overheating and gradual wear. Perfect for endurance racing, but can also be used in hotlap , qualifying sessions as well as sprint races as what it loses in performance, regains in braking modulation and predictability. The default choice for long endurance races, easily makes 12 hours and can make 24 hours race too with a bit of care. Will also overheat and lose linearity in brake pedal feel when worn out, but in a more predictable way and after much longer stints. Because of the lower friction, you could possibly use smaller brake ducts.
  • Pad 3: Moderate friction coefficient, braking zones can be longer in dry, very moderate disc and pad wear. Excellent pedal modulation also in cold ambient conditions, very linear pedal feedback. Excellent choice for wet conditions and very long endurance races. Very predictable and easy to modulate brake pad. Because of the lower friction, you should use smaller brake ducts.
  • Pad 4, extreme aggressive fiction coefficient. Max braking performance, extremely aggressive disc and pad wear, bad cold performance. This is a sprint race pad that can last about an hour but will show worse pedal feel, worse performance and overheating towards the end of the one hour stint. Those kinds of pads are not used in endurance racing, but included for demonstration purposes.

Booted up after a good while. I love how I can't "cheat" the physics. In most console games, if I get a bit impatient, I can usually go much later on the brakes than the AI. Braking and surface grip really doesn't mean much. In this game, trying to brake deeper off the racing line has consequences.

Raced at Paul Ricard and I'm trying to pass a Vantage. Slipstream takes a while down the long straight. I've also got to hit my apexes before the straight. It's only a 5 minutes race, but still...

Last lap, I finally get close enough for the tow to help me pass. As we're entering the fast right hand at the end of the straight, my engineer says car on the left. I go more inside with two tyres in the paint. Engineer says clear on the left and the Aston zooms past!

In other games, AI would probably back off and I'd sail on through, to catch up or I'd be able to divebomb a couple corners to catch cars ahead just before the finish line. Uh uh. Not in ACC.

Love the braking, cornering, smoothness of the ABS and TCS, the steering inputs with controller. It's an unreal real virtual experience.

Thank you @Spitfire77 and @John G , I made and extra stop to have type 3 pads mountend and set 7 tyres. The rumbling in corners is gone :)

I would have liked ACC does that for me. I mean adding enough fuel is already an challenge. Luckily Paul Ricard has a looooong straight.

Back in the race again at position 13. Feels really like a real long distance race this way :)

The game does nothing for you, you have to do everything for yourself (including figuring it all the details!)
But it does reward you when you understand it more 👍

Is the car control stat bugged?

On an AI quick 10min race I just did on Brands Hatch, I was trying to push it and spun twice.

My car control stat shot up 20 or so points to 100 :dunce:

Had multiple races before that with no mistakes and it hardly changed.

If I play with a pad my CC rating shoots straight up. This is due to me going easy out of the corners and generally not pushing as hard as with my wheel, however I also drive worse with a pad and often accidentally cut corners or drive across kerbs yet the game doesn't seem to care, it's all about driving conservatively. I'm not a fan of how it works tbh

It's relatively easy to get CC up to 50 or so without being super quick, or driving particularly well.... you only need a few decent laps to make it go up a lot when your score is low. As your score increases you need to be both fast and not over drive the car to keep it increasing... especially important not to keep pushing the front in to understeer.

If you set the HUD to monitor Car Control it will tell you where you're doing well/badly on each corner.

Mine's usually in the 80 range. I guess if you play against tough AI where you have to be on the limit most of the time you're going to overdrive more, which is probably why mine doesn't go much beyond the 80s. My point was that easing off and not getting down on the power out of corners seems to please the rating system, but it doesn't please the racer in me :P

Man this game is so cruel, doing the 4hrs of spa in career and 2secs left on the clock it says disqaulified for driving over the time limit and it can't be for not pitting in time as got a drive thru for that, and all the drivers had green by ther names and how much driving time left and the least was 20mins, heck it got me pitting every 4 laps , let me get some heat in the tyres for goodness sake lol.

So I just brought ACC(console) earlier today. I am having a blast with the game. I was playing some races in career mode and it’s ok. However, I played Championship mode and it’s great. I will be buying the Intercontinental GT Pack soon and then GT4 Pack once it releases. I also see that the upcoming British GT Pack is coming Winter 2021. I am going to assume that the devs would do GT World Challenge America eventually?

They haven't announced anything past the British GT pack, I wouldn't get your hopes up

Live in Louisiana and was on the edge of the eye of the hurricane, house and family are all fine got lucky with a close call from a downed tree that could have seriously damaged our roof. Power has been out for two days and likely will be another day or two. Started doing the math on how much power PS4 pro, TCL tv, headphone amp, and T300 need to all run..

Generator has plenty of overhead to cover it.. hmmm maybe get a few short AI races in tonight after the kid goes to bed to get my mind on something else.

Glad to hear you and the family are ok.

Some curious news on the official forums: Stefano is back working on the AI!

"Are you back working on Assetto Corsa [Competizione]?
- Temporarily, hoping to improve AI
Can you share details about the future of ACC?
- No I can't, so please don't ask about
new cars
new tracks
new modes
improvements

fixes"

There's a Twitch stream right now:
