Fired AC back up the past few nights for the first time in around 9 months and was shocked to see how dead online was. There's 2 Nurburgring track day servers and 2 servers running GT2 cars always at the top (yawn, it's been like that since release) and that's about it. There used to be loads of servers running lots of different cars and a decent amount of people in each. This game has an amazing GT3 roster for example and there wasn't one server running a GT3 car last night. What happened?

I haven't been logging many hours of AC time because of hardware problems...but I'm still keeping up with the forums. I'm always seeing people talking about racing. People talking about setting up new servers - even renting servers for hosting, etc. Have you taken a peek over in the official forums or Race Department? I love GTPlanet because I started here with GT6, but it's not exactly the busiest Assetto Corsa forum. Aren't there those ALOOG servers running?

I'm looking to add to that list soon with a 24/7 MR server for all the GTPeople to join up and race in anytime they want. Stay tuned. 👍

Nice first trailer to keep the hype up. It states November for console so hopefully it is early in the month. I really want to try that stunning 918 Spyder!

Oh, my bad... I thought it came with the Red Pack. I have a very short memory. :(

Fo' Real... Just gotta remember... If it lasts longer than 4 hours seek medical attention. :sly:

IS IT THE 25th YET?!

That video/car is so saucy! and I haven't a clue about Porsche except the name.

^This. The Levante with the TC off puts a huge smile on my face. First, it's not a sports car, it won't handle or behave like one. Once you accept what it is, throwing it at corners while going stupidly fast is the best thing ever the car is very clumsy and fat but it slides around and if you go offroad there's no problem, you're in a SUV anyway. Not the best, not the fastest but the most fun.
Quite agree. My only experience with SUV's in a "sim" is in Gran Turismo and they mostly drove like understeering tanks. The Levante was a refreshing change from that, quite lively and a ton of fun. Once you adjust to how well the extra weight is simulated it's quite enjoyable to drive.

Do my rose coloured glasses deceive me or has Kunos taken vehicle modeling to another level here?

You know, neither the Ferrari or McLaren do anything for me. But the 918 pushes all the right buttons.

You're not alone. I'm probably one of the few people who doesn't get off at all on any of the three. I certainly acknowledge and respect the technical achievements of these automotive wizards, but I'd go for something like the Ford Escort or BMW E30 every time. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to drive all of them and the 918 is probably my favorite of the three, but none of them give me a trouser tent like, say, an Alfa GTA does. Sacrilege, I know. :guilty: That GT4 Clubsport is the one I'm most looking forward to in the first pack.

(runs and hides before the stoning begins...)

I actually get it... If I display the odometer (awesome app everyone should install) my P1 and La Ferrari will show very few miles driven. I totally respect all three and I'll be thrilled to try the 918 just to see what it's like. But then I'll be on a Cayman or 911 Carrera ten times more often... It's crazy... The E30 is my favorite Bimmer too. And then, I actually prefer the E92 M3 over the M4, for some strange reason.

I think it's because driving feel has always mattered to me more than speed. As I've said several times before, I don't really care for the modern open-wheelers. They're just too fast for me to even enjoy. But I don't mind the older ones. Thank God we get such a wonderful variety in AC. And not just the bullcrap variety GT6 gave us with 35 versions of the same Skyline.

From Aristotelis facebook :

Probably the most technologically packed car inside Assetto Corsa. The Porsche 918 spyder has it all. Active aero, brake steering, active differential at the rear, hybrid ERS system with different modes. 2 (two!) electric engines, completely independent front and rear, active antiroll bars (!), active rear wheel steering (!!), active All Wheel Drive with electric motor at the front and active torque vectoring...

All of that stuff has to comunicate with each other and try to be as transparent to the driver as possible. Not an easy task. Does it succeed? Not sure, you'll be the final judge. But it does succeed on being an amazing driving experience, a totally different level from everything else.

When you have 900hp, even on hypercar class sticky street tyres, traction is your main issue. While all the other hypercars struggle to find traction on anything less than slicks, the 918 simply digs into the asphalt and manages amazing exit speeds with the pedal to the metal. I wouldn't call it an easy car to push close to the limits. Very stable, amazing traction, especially with the street tyres. It might seem a bit heavy, not easy to stop or even a bit understeery on occasion. But trust it, be smooth but decisive, don't be aggressive mid corner, let it "take a set" and then push through the exit, and you'll be rewarded with some unbelievable laptimes and brand new sensation of traction and acceleration.

EDIT:
From Kunos Staff:
Hi guys, the porsche pack 1 was set purchaseable by error. It is not available and or downloadable yet. Please wait until official news and release (October 25th as planned). Thanks and apologize for the mistake.

I wonder how many heart attacks that caused?

Wait.. you mention you really like some oldies like the E30 and the GTA, and then you say you most look forward to the modern GT4, when there are cars like the Moby dick and RSR 3.0 in the pack? What the hell?? :D

I'm looking forward to those as well, for sure, but I don't really have the skills to tame such gnarly beasts and they will quickly kill me to death! :scared: The Clubsport falls right into the sweet spot of my skill set, medium-slow and only mildly lethal. :sly:

Its interesting because it shows the mindset differences that the devs try to set you up for between AC and Forza for example. Playing forza over the past few days you notice a few things, its all about speed. You need to hit this speedcamera at 190mph, do 5000ft jump over this ramp, go through this section in under a minute. It took that game to remind me why I've put over 1000hours in AC, everything is laid out on the table with it, it doesnt temp you to go fast in anyway, it leaves you to just enjoy yourself, the pleasure of driving is what got so many into the game. In forza the logical option is the best option, has it got higher numbers, well drive that then, you still get the choice in AC which is nice, it means the E92 is still an option. Im not trying to put down Forza in any way, its just that Playground games are addicted with speed, the solution to that would be having seperate leaderboards for car ranks.

Classic Silverstone is looking superb already.

Hmmm... which car will be most fun to take sideways first?

The priapism is strong with this one, like a steel ox!

Medication based priapism is from low blood flow and is very painful and your little buddy is slowly dying from the inside....no blood flow means no oxygen and the cells in the tissue are dying. The complete loss of function is possible, no pills to fix that.

Won't the needle break? :dopey:

I have had men faint while we insert the needle,.

Ice works 20% of the time, Medication works 50% of the time, the needle scares it down 20% and that leave the unfortunate 10%, lol.
