What's the title of that film? "Worst Movie Ever Made?" Dolph...He killed Apollo Creed. :grumpy:

There is an F40 Competizione mod - but it's ancient and garbage, in my opinion. It would be pretty nice if someone built a true mod. Is the F40 S3 close to the Competizione in terms of power? I know it wouldn't have the correct body & wing...just curious on the power. I haven't driven the S3 in forever.

I'm such a big proponent for the Ferrari 330 P4 because I'd love to start having some competition for the cars of that era. It doesn't hurt that it's a sexy bugger either... :D

I want to know - is the first Porsche pack worth the money? I'm really not sure if it is because I'll only drive the cars once and never touch them again... But I really want to try out the 917/30 and the 935.

In my opinion? Yes...Absolutely. The two cars you mentioned are a whole lot of fun too. The 917/30 is ridiculous. It is so fast...you just have to experience it for yourself.

Just remember to increase your braking time on the first few corners -- give the brakes a couple pumps. Brake Temperatures are active on those cars now (eventually every AC car will have this) so they'll be cold when you first get on the track.

Porsche Pack Vol I was my least anticipated of the 3 packs but I think it is more than worth the money. Pack II is the one I am really waiting for but Pack I will provide more than sufficient enjoyment on it's own let alone having those fantastic cars to an already impressive roster.

The 917/30 Spyder will kill you instantly while the 935/78 Moby Dick will kill you as soon as the turbo spools up. Both are hugely challenging but equally entertaining when you get the hang of them. They are the definition of old-school monster race cars.

S3 around 600hp
The Competizione around 700hp
If close to each other gamewise?
No idea..
But i guess i could live with an S3 with the look and sound of the Competizione/LM.

No prob. Enjoy them but let me know how long it takes for your first crash in the 917/30 on full boost.

Mine? At Silverstone 1967... 4s. Yep.
Brands Hatch. Exiting druids. Too much power and I went into the Armco on the right hand side in the run to the next corner. I'd got though Paddock just fine though. My fault not the cars.

I haven't driven Brands Hatch with the 917/30 yet. I can definitely see Druids being a very challenging turn. Of course, you could safely coast through it...but, I've experienced that those who get the best run thru Druids can usually use that stretch to Graham Hill Bend even though it's not a very long stretch of track. In a race of 917's, it's pretty much a contest of who's got the bigger stones to get on the gas first. :D

Another problem I have with the 917 is I need to learn to use the car's aero & grip to my advantage. I know that I'm scrubbing way too much speed off when I approach bends when I could probably just lift & not even brake at all.

Hey, PC guys, do you have the option to save setups to all variations of each track? We console guys don't. Now that we have tyre temp telemetry I'm slowly working my way through my setups and adjusting the temps per track, but some variations of tracks put different loads on the tyres, so ideally would like to save a tune for each individual layout in the game.

No

What do you mean no?? I can save 50 different car setups if I want, on all 4 Nurburgring layouts, for instance. All I need to do is give the setup a name and hit save.
Ah yeah that's true, layouts aren't specifically listed but you can just rename and save multiple ones no?

19 days until the last Porsche Pack!

So, I got the First Porsche Pack yesterday and tried out all of the cars - except one (the 718). Yes, I drove the 917/30 around Silverstone 1967. I honestly don't know what you guys are on about - it was soo much easier to drive than I expected, and it didn't try to kill me every time I went near the throttle. The only aid I had turned on was ABS... If you don't apply a lot of power through the corners, thus letting the turbo spool up on the straights, the car is driveable. Brakes weren't fantastic and didn't always turn in very sharply but it's still bloody fast - a great car indeed. The 935 was also very fast and didn't kill me, the GT4 Clubsport felt planted through the corners, the 918 was a bit difficult to handle, the Carrera S understeered quite a lot and the 1974 RSR was a fantastic handling car with plenty of grip. And that's just from the first pack. Varied experiences indeed.

Drive the 718, I found it to be a great car, I enjoyed it more than the modern 911.

Either you didn't have the boost turned up or you weren't driving near the limit if you thought the 917 was easier to drive than expected. You'd need to be in the low 20's or lower to be approaching the limits of the cars under ideal track conditions.
