I was just picking a range of street cars from slow to fast and putting them around the Nords (SNIP)

Oh, I also tried this at the Touristfarfegnugen layout and it was quite hilarious to watch the AI cars try to drive through the fence to get out of the car park (not really hilarious though, as most of them never got on the track). :indiff:
What is the deal with the AI drivers and the Tourist map? I tried the same thing a few weeks back and it reminded me of one of the sleepwalking scenes in Step Brothers. Just mindless, out of control drivers crashing over and over and over into everything they could.

I was trying the Special Event 'Take a Ride' with the Cayman S at Vallelunga tonight when I started getting a little frustrated. I was using the setup from Kie25 when I got PO'd about not being able to get the turn-in from the car and the issues that come from that.

All of a sudden, 3 months after getting my T300RS, it registered that I had the rotation set to 1080° and was simply not getting the action I needed. Changing rotation to 900° cut 1s from my time after 2 laps. I felt silly then excited by the time I found. However, I got too giddy and destroyed my Porsche but that's not the point...

What degree of rotation do you guys prefer?

For pCARS I just left the wheel at 1080 and let the game adjust the DOR per car, but for AC, pre patch 1.09, I had it set to 900. This was mostly because AC doesn't allow us to set the steering ratio per car like pCARS does, so I thought having 900 would be better than 1080. But then the patch happened and all the DOR got screwed up so I set it back to 1080, and it's still there even with the DOR now fixed.

Thanks for reminding me, I'll set it back to 900 and see if it feels better now.

Odd, never had those issues on the T300, bleeder.
You mean your wheel matched the driver's wheel 1:1 even after the previous patch? I was ok in some cars, but like many people had to reset the wheel's DOR almost every time I got in a different car. G29 users couldn't even change it so had to wait for the following patch. Everything is fine now though.

Bad news @mister dog :P

Finally had time to sit down and try again. No apps on screen whatsoever.

And to help prove this was only my 2nd attempt, here is the gap to compare with my first attempt.

I'll record and upload the replay in the next few days. It'll take a while at roughly 24 minutes long.

By the way, I really couldn't care less about the avatar bet. I enjoy challenges like this. I was far more interested in seeing if I could actually do it, than I was about winning the bet.
That said, a bet is a bet :D

I've just spent 2 hours flying around Nsuka (Innerloop) with the Honda S800 RSC. Oh, I need a real stick shift for this car. If you like street maps, you need to give Nsuka a drive.

It's an rFactor conversion - the textures aren't the best, but I don't think it's humanly possible to drive Nsuka with something like the Honda S800 RSC or maybe the Ford Escort RS1600 and tell me you didn't have a blast! Unless you just hate street driving in AC, of course.

There is also an Outerloop, but I don't think the Outloop has a map/cameras/AI lines. I destroyed 2 Honda's on this 23km road. I blew 2 tires on horrible wrecks...but after a slight break I'm going back out for more. I wish I read Japanese (I think it's Japanese)...Regardless, I can't remember the last time I had this much fun.

Oh, you might have to download the map separately, if I remember correctly. Both are on Race Department.

I wasn't really all that excited for PP3. I'm dying to try the 911 R and now I'm psyched for the 911 Turbo S. Hopefully I will be surprised by the 2 older race cars like I was with the 935 & 917/30. The 911 GT3 R is cool, but did we really need the Cup car too? The RSR will probably excite me. It will probably feel a bit strange driving a mid-engine 911. Only 2 more days! :D

Yes we need the cup car too ;)

You're right. It will be cool to have it. I definitely see some Porsche Cup races in my future. 👍 Boy, how happy are you that you got onto the PC version of AC? :D

I don't get this.

Shouldn't you just set the wheel at its maximum rotation (1080) and then leave the game to do the rest?
I know the game doesn't have a 'soft lock' option, but the ratios for each car are adjusted by the game.

Note: let's leave ver 1.09 for the consoles out of the discussion.

I think AC works best at 900. Also, there is a soft lock but you have to enable it in the .ini. It didn't used to work very well but I've seen a recent report that said it does now.
