I think that's what I said? They were at an aero deficit and the way to fix it was to use the giant (ugly) diffusers that everyone else was using, but if they'd left the engine in the back the heat from the engine would have melted the diffuser. So the pushed the engine forward a bit and made it more of a mid-engined car which should keep the diffuser from melting.
My guess is he meant to say it wouldn't melt the diffuser, but you can't fit both that giant diffuser and the engine in the back at the same time, therefore the engine had to be moved forward to accomodate the diffuser.

Yep, and Porsche basically said as much.

What a beast of a diffusor!

I don't understand why everyone finds this diffuser to be so large. This is a pretty standard size diffuser and is honestly one of the smaller ones in the GTE field. The one on the Aston is gigantic!

I think it probably sticks out more on a Porsche as they always had that trademark round behind before.

I didn't know fellow Belgian Laurens Vanthoor got a seat in that RSR. Increases my interest in the IMSA championship that's for sure.

Audi boy Vanthoor. That's interesting. Anyways Porsche GTE has no chance this year. No turbo. They built the car to what they expected the regulations to be and they got it wrong.

Wow , and all of that before the season even started. Ok guys lets pack up and go home, program is doomed anyhow.

GTE is governed by BoP anyway so it really doesn't matter what you turn up with ;) just look at Aston Martin and it's ageing (normally aspirated) V8 Vantage GTE last year which took then drivers crown!

The reason why Audi boy Vanthoor moved over to Porsche is because Audi suspended their Le Mans program. The big dream of Vanthoor was always to win the 24h of Le Mans and with his move he may has a change in the future with Porsche.

Ow your avatar reminds me, Stoffel in F1 this year too!
Would be funny if in the next years he'll fight Verstappen for the championship. I used to go go karting in Kortrijk occasionally which is where it all started for him.

Woow, what a surprise!

I'm born in Kortrijk and living in Spain from my youth.
Now i supose that you're a Spaniard living in Belgium.

About F1,it will be a nice duple Alonso-Vandoorne in McLaren Honda this season.

Nah other way around Belgian living in Spain ;)

My mom was born there too, but i'm from Bruges originally.

Which Porsche is run for GTE? The 911 RSR? or the 911 GT3 R?

Do you follow soccer, @Donnced? What do you think about the £100,000,000 offer Manchester City is willing to give Barcelona for Messi? That is freaking insane.

The 911 RSR is the one run GTE (IMSA & WEC)

Woow! I don't follow much soccer.
But that's a really insane offer for Messi indeed...
Was it a petition of the coach Pep Guardiola??

We don't see insane offers like this in motorsports huh..:boggled:

(from Eurogamer Italy)

Interesting. Could be good, could be bad, could make no difference at all. Could mean we get things like night, rain, reverse grids, warm up laps, cool down laps, rolling starts, better online livery situation, etc. sooner than later.

I don't know, hope they communicate something officially soon, but like someone at the AC forum says:

Past experiences like these always spell disaster.(small companies getting bought by bigger companies, they swear to keep their originality, but they never do) Let's hope Kunos doesn't go on that route

Wow, They pay that much for pussies like soccer/football players? the world is so skewed.
Here is a real man that does not fake injuries:

After a fast patching of his back he was racing again, I cant even imagine what a football player would do in a situation similar to Guy Martin.

Yeah, but that's not a guarantee and Marco said they will remain in control of the decision making. I tend to think it will probably be a positive thing, maybe get some much needed extra manpower onboard.

It means one of two things. they've had enough and gonna move on to a new baby, or this will give them the finances to make AC2 not just a bench mark for physics on console but also rival other games in graphics, features and gameplay.

Well, we need to remember that Kunos not only makes simulators for entertainment. They also develop professional level simulators. And I guess they will keep doing It?

I hope the acquisition means that Kunos eventually outgrows its status as an indie developer while staying true to itself. I've never heard of Digital Bros but the name sounds more cheesy than gorgonzola.

I think someone mentioned that Digital Bros owns 505 Games.
