Hear hear! Sure would suck to let people play the game the way that they want. Such a mentality cannot stand.

It stands in iracing and netkar. The vast majority of iracing members would rather the view not be switchable for a reason. Clearly you miss the point of having it not switchable

After watching that video, all I can say is it looks like someone finally got it right. 👍

Man, I cannot wait for this one to be released. Glad I have a while to get a nice PC for it.

+1 here. That and its going to be moddable!

Even better news on the modding.

It's just, the movement of the cars looks so.....right. The arm/hand animation from the driver is great too. And I love the camera movement to simulate the bumps in the track. Plus the sounds, mainly the minor details like brake squeal....ugh. Cannot wait.

You and me both my friend. PURE's putting all its eggs into this one, can't wait to see where it takes every one. AC's just going to be an immense stage for competitive sim racing, let alone the amazing driving one can experience just getting out and driving alone.

So you've still not answered my question, how is that clutch working out for you on the Driving Force GT?

As for the cockpit, can anyone tell me the last time they drove a REAL car looking at a flat 2D screen rather than out into a 3D world with peripheral vision?

Can we take this somewhere else? Please.

Once again, you're making comments that make you seem like a drippy try hard. You still can't move on with your life can you?

Do you really think I don't want to use a clutch in GT5? Of course I do. it's the main reason I don't like the DFGT, and why on the PC, I use a seperate pedal set WITH a clutch. There's a difference between having the option of being fully realistic, and prefering to be realistic. The poll was about preference, so your basis for harassing me is not only incorrect but ridiculously petty.

That poll is completely unrelated to this post, and this isn't even the first time you've brought up that poll on an unrelated thread.

Plus, if I'm so wrong and you're so right, why do you care? The way you're behaving is very petty. I suggest you grow up and move on with your life.

Yeah Jav, we've actually known that Nord was going to be in it for a while. The big question is whether it's been scanned or not. I have a feeling it's not been, since if it was you know we'd all want them to scream it from the church tops since it would just grab every one in the sim community by the throat.

But hey, still no way it's going to be bad right?

If their Nurb. GP is any indication of how epic their Nord can be... you can expect a good time.

Btw, I love that detail they have with the listing of the number of pit boxes, only other sim I've seen put attention to that really is iRacing.
I wonder what the max number of cars on track at the same time's gonna be, may be customizable depending on client and server hardware and connections. If so, you know we'll take it to the max and have ourselves dozens on track :D

I definitely missed that one! When I asked on their FBook about it they said only the GP circuit was scanned, but they never said the Nordschleife wasn't gonna be on the game. I just assumed it wouldn't be... Anyways it should be pretty good! We know there will be no dumbing it down from this guys!

Then by all means enlighten me on what the point is. Feel free to explain the rest of this post as well.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that the reason Simon keeps bringing it up has more to do with how openly hostile you are from your ivory tower in every post you make about "realism" rather than specifically because of the thread where you made explicit your contempt of those who don't ascribe with your ridiculously arbitrary standard of "realism."

And while I'm sure he can comment better than I do, your posts in this thread alone kinda make me think I'm on the money.

I have a feeling that continuing the discussion through the PMs is only going to make it more acrimonious. I think the best thing that could happen is to drop it and perhaps Tornado, as entitled as he is to his opinion, perhaps should be a little more gracious in his opinions.

Exactly! Just drop it! You all have your own oppinions, wat's the big deal? There's no worse personal attack than trying to force someone to change his oppinion about something, so please drop it and go on with the thread or simply move on.
Please stop pooping all over this trhead, please.

Hopefully we will be able to share the pit boxes on the Ring so we can get more cars in for some epic racing!

One thing I wouldnt get my hopes up too high for is a laserscanned Nordschleife.

a) Much too expensive for Kunos.
b )If there would have been a laserscanning there in the last 2 yrs you would have read about it.
c) Südschleife is in as well (YAAAAAAAAAAAY!!! so awesome), that doesnt exist anymore, so obviously no laserscanning = not all tracks are laserscanned.

Luckily I dont give a damn. I just care about well done tracks, no matter how they were done. Todays physics engines (yes, even ACs or iRacings) arent capable of taking advantage of laserscannings resolution anyway.

I'm enthusiastic about this sim, but we are not yet sure about how well online will works.
Which connection is required (reccomended) to move all this insanely detailed stuff? What about lag? Flag rules? Penalties? Online bugs / disconnections? What can you do in pubblic lobbies? Eventually Zero rules? I hope no! So yes, it's the most promising sim but net code and all that stuff are totally unknown.

Hey guys, did any one else see that they're going to release a demo of AC for people that own netKar PRO?

It's supposed to be after they release a "technology preview" or something. It'll only be available to people that own netKar Pro which is very cool.

I'm quite sure it was so that nkrpo owners have some advantage with the tech preview, but demo which will be out later, should be available for all.

So now by wanting realism in a SIMULATOR, that automatically makes you an elitist? Is that what people think nowadays?

You're not the forum police, if you don't like what I have to say move on.

I never said a word about you personally, so you had no right to attack me. Same goes for Simon.

This is a forum for discussion of Assetto Corsa, not criticism of every person that you don't agree with. Attacking a person instead of an opinion is not only petty but it may be against the rules of this forum.

Well this what a developer from Kunos wrote

"Technology preview is probably going to be free for people having an nKP license. First of all it is a way to say thank you to people who have supported us AND also a way to test the code authorization system of AC, which is really needed.
After some time from the release of the tech preview, we are going to release a proper demo with more features and that will be free for all.
All in all, don’ t worry people, you will be able to properly test AC before committing to a buy
"

Ok so basically, nKp owners will get the tech preview and eventually a proper demo will be released to everyone.

I think that's great. Giving nKp owners the first crack at it. Very cool stuff for sure.

I'm just hoping it will run on my computer. nKp runs at max just fine on my computer despite it being a piece of crap but these graphics are better. Hopefully you can significantly downscale the graphics like in iracing.

So now by wanting realism in a SIMULATOR, that automatically makes you an elitist? Is that what people think nowadays?
No. Constantly looking down on others and holding them in contempt because they don't agree and/or conform to your (arbitrary) standard of realism is elitism. Which you do. Constantly. Including in this thread, which is what brought this up in the first place since you seem to have forgotten.

You're not the forum police, if you don't like what I have to say move on.
Attacking a person instead of an opinion is not only petty but it may be against the rules of this forum.
There is a distinct form of irony to this post for someone who constantly posts things like this:
What good would having mechanical damage on permanently do?

Did you seriously just ask that?

EPIC FAIL!!!!!!

Can you turn damage off in your real car?

I never said a word about you personally, so you had no right to attack me. Same goes for Simon.
No one in this thread has attacked you. Pointing out that you are acting elitist is not attacking you. Pointing out that your standard of realism is just as arbitrary as it has always been is not attacking you. Pointing out that you feel perfectly fit to look down on those who aren't fully dedicated to realism when you aren't either is not attacking you.

This is a forum for discussion of Assetto Corsa, not criticism of every person that you don't agree with.
Indeed it is. But since now you've done nothing but deflect from the actual questions raised about your points because everyone's so mean for picking on you, I guess this line of discussion was never going to go anywhere but that.

Which is a shame, because I actually thought this discussion would give insight to what your standards of realism are justified on, but it seems it wasn't in the cards.

What's the problem with you guys, Toronado, SimonK and TomBrady ??? I don't even feel that TomBrady looked down on others, he stated his opinion on things, his preferences in playing, then all of sudden a few people gets agitated and start making so many pointless statements. There's nothing to be gain by keep doing it.

On the topic, what sort of CPU, GPU and RAM needed to run Asseto Corsa at medium resolution (720p) but with almost everything enabled and high graphic details, I only have small monitor, and more than 1 year old PC, so if I want to play at steady 40fps and 720p, would it be too much to ask ?
