I'll take working wipers over this any time. But then again, I actually drive in rainy conditions...
That's cool but do we actually have real rain in AC yet? By that I mean does the road surface friction actually change? Do we have rain tires? Do the wipers actually clear drops and water sheets off the windows as in P Cars and ACC?

Firstly, wow thank you.
I'd never of downloaded this track because 'oval', but it is a real gem!
Cheers to obviously legion for making it...that over with...

Here is 1st camera for it...i am actually chuffed with this one...
This is for the 'roadcourse' folder.
On to the rest now..

Have a look!
(change 'txt' to 'ini'...)

Amazing thank you!

And yep, it's actually my most local track here in SoCal. Very much a track for high horsepower cars but still quite fun to drive in low horsepower cars :)

Real rain is on the way, see post from a couple of days ago and yes, the wipers do clear raindrops.
Haven't you tried ?

Edit: forgot to add that some tracks have wet layouts, some even with a clear grip loss.

Guys, I recently had a spin with the Lambo Aventador from Kunos. Do you know why the front and backlights are completely black? No brake light or headlights are working, too. Latest config is loaded, of course. Any fix here?

While I'm at the rain subject: as long as I can remember I have a button on my steering wheel to command the wipers. Flip the switch up and the wipers work, flip up again and they stop working.
Since a few days/week(s) (?) that has changed. I can get them to start working, but I can't stop them anymore, unless I use ALT+N (rotary switch on my button box emulated using JoyToKey) a couple of clicks !?
I made no changes, checked the JoyToKey settings etc...

Based on what felt like a particularly arsey PM , to clarify...

I am making track cameras for tracks with none, or say one that doesn't really function as a camera...
I don't make the tracks so to avoid confusion with updates etc etc i will not be posting links to any tracks.
For example Castle comb there is one track available for this mod on RD and the same track with worse trees only which the cams work on too...
I am working on the assumption people either already have or can find these tracks online.
I don't want any angry modders coming after me for posting links etc etc...

Is that reasonable? Or am i being harsh?

This is an interesting post from RD - a quick and easy way to make car LODs, apparently. I've always wondered why LODs seem so time consuming to generate when it should be something that computers should be able to do semi-automatically.

https://www.racedepartment.com/threads/making-car-lods-simple-quick-and-clean.182755/
I urge everyone to have a go at this for your favourite cars - it's so quick and easy and the results are great. I've never used Blender before but if I had a little more info (now updated in the RD post) I'd have done my first LOD within the hour. Now I know the technique and proper scaling when exporting the fbx from Blender (0.01) it'll probably take 15mins to create one LOD. As the guys says, all lights work too (edit: I lost the high-level brake light at distance). I couldn't see the transition from a 175k tri model reduced to 25k at 30m. Should be huge performance help for cars with no LODs.

I'd say it's reasonable as long as you get permission from the modder. Legion/GzeroD has it stated on his website no permission is needed and that we are ALL Legion so his stuff is fair game. As far as everyone else, you may want to ask permission?

Yes it wasn't modders PM'ing me.
I was chastised for not providing a link to the tracks i am doing cameras for.
I doubt any modder would be annoyed at extra cameras for their creations but i am more concerned about giving a link to a track which has been updated since i downloaded it for example, thus messing up the already muddy waters...etc

Anyway i am doing it for the regulars who i am aware have these tracks already and know what i am on about.

Before retiring for the day and getting some much needed Zzzz, I'm also sharing a fictional Bathurst skin pack for those must-drive-now enthusiasts, and for those looking forward to a racing weekend ahead... plenty of quality mods and liveries, and a positive sharing-community, what else can another enthusiast ask for?

Apparently the file is excessively huge so must break it down (that will take some time) and Zzzz' await - dilemma - get them from RD in the meantime... thx!

EDIT: Skins are for the PORSCHE GT3 R (folder: porsche997gt3r) from AGU Modding.

Yeah you don't need to provide the track resource. Keep doing what you're doing! :)

....you may want to ask permission?

I wouldn't think cameras need permission full stop, just a bloody text file.
No need to post links, but mention where you got your track version to save others bugging you with the same question.

..... found the scale when exporting the FBX. Proper scale is 0.01.

Scale 'FBX ALL' seems to work for me, that is from CM's exports, 3DsimEd seems to export in the correct scale.
Also object count is important so delete as many objects as you can, the entire COCKPIT_HR for example.(duh! if the car doesn't have LODs it probably doesn't have HR/LR cockpits anyway) or anything 'inside' the car as seen from x amount of metres away.

@Foxeway
I have a question for you, in the most critically acclaimed and famously marveled circuit known to modern mankind as we know it, Carrieres de Beez, what are you using to adjust these pits? Blender? The track says it has 30 pits but when you recalculate that value, it says 0 (zero). Looked in kseditor and looks like there is around 30 pits, the thing is, if I use 12 cars on track, everything's fine, everyone's lined up well. If I use 20 cars though, cars spawn on top of each other and it's no good.
I thought I had the fixed version in the first place, oh well. Can you point me to easy way to fix this?

Yesterday i discovered something "interesting" to say at least.

While i was fixing the shaders of the F1/1982 seasons cars provided by RenaultDJRTP some pages back, i've discovered that the size of the car's data.acd file was abnormaly large: over 27 MB!

So i decided to unpack the offending file, and here's what i've found:
  • 20 shortcut links that will direct to the Facebook/VK profile page of at least 10/11 people from Russia.
  • A file named "AC car mods" with more Facebook profile links.
  • "drs.ini" file containing even more Facebook profile links.
  • 10 .png files, adding 6.5 MB to the "data" folder
An "interesting" discovery indeed.

EDIT: fixed grammar.

I experienced that in the Merc 190 Evo. Apparently is a bug, i saw something posted in the CSP discord app

Soooo. i have a link for ALL the RTM mods. but I am hesitant to post I here as it is "paid" despite the fact that they are thieves...
Can admin shed some light on if I can post this? would love to share. Its hundreds of cars... since we are all stuck indoors it would be a nice addition to all of our libraries. physics probably leaves a bit to be desired but its good filler for the AI fields...
Link?

Before I go to get some sleep I thought I'd just mention that Shutoko Revival Project have updated their car pack - so head on over to their discord to grab it or message me and I'll send the links your way when I rise from my slumber. Not posting the links publicly right now

Also I've started to make some racing skins for the mad little wide body 370z that @safi hellie posted a few days ago...but it's a bit of a mission as it's in many many little bits and it's hard to find where everything goes. For now this is what I've come up with. I'm not sure about it being purple either but it is what it is :D

Yep, that's in a lot more than just the 1982 season and F1 cars for that matter. LOL
