Yesterday, I asked Assetto Garage about their future projects and plans, about releasing dates, etc. I remember about Masscot and his beloved Toyota Supra GR, and I am sorry to tell you this mate, but it´s not happening, they are not releasing it. They´ll only focus on rall cars instead of circuit cars. In my opinion, it´s disapointing, specially knowing how good they are on adapting circuit cars from other games such as GT Sport (Mazda LM 55 Vision GT or Bugatti Vision GT, for example). I´d like to hear your opinion about this guys.

That was also my impression when they released their statement on their FB page. Free public access to rally cars, not their other mods.
AG lives in a strange world, showing public what sort of mods they "made", but never going to be released for public access.
And from what I have heard, they don't accept donations from everyone, even people who would like to donate to get mods from them. And from my understanding some members who donated and received access codes for their mods, but doesn't work at all and they don't get refunds.

My opinion would get me banned.

Anyone has this mod? Kremer K8 Porsche.

Hummm, very interesting !

I lost the quote about the Kremer Prototype shown by rshumi..! (Dummy time !)

When did CM introduce keyboard and button mapping? I can get rid of joy2key now and have it all mapped in my wheel profiles. Awesome!

My....God......I....I....cannot....stop....driving.....Shuto C1(small ACP version) in VR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm SOOOOOOOOO in love with this track it's disgusting!!! The obsession I have with this darn track is disturbing on so many levels. Nigelae86 did a SUPERB job with Shuto! My goodness....driving this track in VR is nothing short of ORGASMIC!!! I just kept hotlapping over and over and over and over again non-stop. The way the city feels with all the skyscraper buildings surrounding you as you drive by and the way they light up the environment is simply breathtaking. The attention to detail, with all the highway signs and neon billboards is breathtaking! I am just....in love. And this is *ONLY* with the small C1 loop version! Imagine when he gets the bigger version seasoned, baked and ready for primetime!:eek:

I cannot wait until I get my PimaX VR headset hopefully in the coming weeks/months. Driving Shuto C1 with the much wider FOV and 4K resolution should be a sight to behold! Getting kinda irritated with the low FOV of the Rift TBH :(

Legend1...I can't get the big version of Shuto you sent me to show up in the track list when selecting tracks in the game. The only way to load this version is via Content Manager. Otherwise it simply doesn't show up in the list of tracks to choose from. No big deal really, since I'm leaning towards using CM more and more as I learn my way around it.

Anyway I tried it briefly and not even 30 seconds in I fell off into the abyss  Guess I must've took a wrong turn towards the beginning without looking close enough at the minimap. I'll try it again but it was pretty jarring in VR when that happened. Hopefully either Nigelae86 or HYENA can at least release a version that blocks off the "Nowheresville" sections soon.
Do you or anyone else can give me a link for this track? The version I have isn`t so spectacular...

Since it's my finals week, I'm away from my rig and I'm asking again for input from you guys on my new version of the Amuse
  1. The turbo is gone, for now. This version is just to test the torque curve. This is an aproximation, where the values differ about 30Nm from the real thing which is not bad.
  2. Took the tires from the GT4 version and changed the values to what the sources said.
  3. The version I've been doing is the Turbo version, the one that's premium in GT6. So the gearbox has been tuned as such. 7-speed sequential. There are somethings gearbox wise that I didn't delve in, only when I've got more time to test it.
  4. Aero, set up and model improvments might come soon™. I have still a lot to learn.
This the aproximation curve that I used from a video that I saw from GT6.

View attachment 744857

Sorry, it's turned 90°, but oh well. Every single unit is metric. And something interesting I found was that the Torque curve is derived from the power curve, so it's rather easy to obtain nice aproximations of both. And yes, everything was pretty much done by hand

Amuse S2000 GT1 Turbo
Well, I just ran about 20 laps on Nurburgring - Sprint (GT)... ~10 with Street Tires and ~10 with Semislicks. This car is frighteningly fast. I know it's your car so you may do whatever you wish with it, but if you still have a Turbo charger to install on this car, you might want to lower the base power. At times the car is terrifying...mostly on street tires. When going into Hatzenbects on full throttle while on street tires the rear of the car steps out and that's flat out in 6th gear. I didn't realize the car had a 7th gear until a few laps in.

I like that the car is scary. I'm sure a little car like that with that much power on regular street tires would be bonkers. It's still wild on Semislicks though. It's not like the fun is stripped away or anything like that. The gear ratios feel a little funny. Particularly 3rd to 4th. They feel so close together - you've got your foot to the floor in 3rd and then you shift into 4th and in the blink of an eye you're already clicking in 5th gear. In a way I kind of like it. That gearing will eliminate any errors, for the most part, coming out of a medium to fast speed turn - even if you wanted to be in 3rd, being in 4th doesn't really punish you..so you don't get the bogged down feeling if you remained in 4th gear which can be nice.

How do you feel about the car, so far?

The funny thing is, I haven't tested it yet because I don't have my external hard drive with me, so I'm going off on assumptions. I have to fix the ratios, they were made to include 7th, they're still very wip. I have to fix the setup as well because the car as it is not made to handle that much power and torque, I may have to steal some racing suspension . But that's for when I can test the car. The power and torque are final though, when I'll factor in the turbo, the power won't increase, keeping it NA with the same power curve allows me to improve the setup, then I'll factor the turbo in. The values of 618hp and 549Nm won't be changed.

It's so funny how much drama there is with the modding scene nowadays. All for some loose change and some "perceived" exclusivity? 10-20 years from now no one will remember any of this crap, but you will remember the fun you had with all the freely available mods and the kind souls who are willing to share their passion of cars and racing.

How long has it been since Kunos said that development of AC has pretty much stopped - nothing new being added? Just maintenance and bug fixes? It's been a couple of months, right? It seems that since Kunos pressed the stop button on AC, mod development has gone bonkers with lots of great new cars, tracks & features continuing to be added. :D

It's funny though, but I always said modding is the best decision a game developer can make. No developer will support a game forever, but if you make it moddable, it will live on for as long as there is someone out there playing it.

AC stopping development I think has made modders more keen than ever because they don't have to worry anymore about future updates breaking their mods. I know I'm a lot more open to trying all sorts of mods now because I know that most of the will work with the current version, whereas 1-2 year before I will be "nah, let's wait for the next version to fix the bugs with current AC release" and end up forgetting to DL the mod altogether

Glad you like it. I don't have a PC strong enough to handle VR with AC, but I recently tried GTS with VR and the sense of scale is incredible. The graphics look like 🤬 and everything in the distance looks like PS1 resolution, but the sense of being in the world, with a full scale car around you is something that has to be experienced to be believed. I can only imagine how amazing AC with VR is.

The track shows up as "AC Metropolitan Highway" or similar in my game. Try searching near the start of your track list instead of amongst all the other Shutos.

The only advice I can give to avoid falling is to memorise the track more, but you're already driving it a lot so it should come in no time  I can imagine how having to constantly look at the minimap can be immersion breaking in VR.

IMO, I think closing off the roads to nowhere with physical barriers can be just as immersion breaking. These roads don't just magically stop in real life, they are all interconnected as Tokyo's highway system. I think some traffic cones or a "Construction In Progress" sign would be more believable while still giving you enough warnings not to go down that route.

Modding is what keeps a lot of games alive
Look at NWN for example
It's out since 2002 and thanks to the HUGE modding community it's still used by a lot of people for online gaming too (i am in a italian online server so i know the situation)

AC is in the same Happy situation...
There is bad mods, there is payware mods, but there is a plenty of good and free mods too

We just had those shiny mods for night racing and dynamic lights
Those alone can grant a new Life ti any racing title
If some genius will be able to make a real day/night/weather system this game will be eternal

But as it is now it's still my fav driving simulator and it will be in my HD Forever (or until a AC2 -not ACC- will be out)

you guy's have to get into this.

For me with this mod on, AC looks now better than PCars2 in my VR goggles, it is like playing AC3.
AC development has not stopped, it is faster than ever,
The inmates are running the asylum.

What you have found is Assetto Garage's new website, and doubt that BMW M8 GTE will be released for public access.

You know the funny part? Well, first of all, I got accepted, and once you get in, there are only photos or the cars. No download links, no donation section, just nothing. It´s just absurd.

And the other thing is that these guys are "italians" and Assetto Garage are spanish. Or, at least, they want to act like italians. I don´t know, it´s all very confusing, even though on their facebook page, they say, they are only a photographic page and that no cars link will be provided.

Like I said, AG lives in a strange world. They sell mods for money, but they don't accept donations/payments from everyone. And display what sorts of mods they got on Youtube, but it's "private use only".

Wow  Does it eat FPS?

Not that I have noticed, it just make it clearer, more vibrant, more alive really. The way it integrates with with CM is also impressive.

Does this mod really do night/day transitions?
The graphics with this mod are amazing

Not yet, but it is almost there according to the modder, the nice thing about it is the integration in CM makes going from day to night a one click affair and everything looks better than ever.

Meanwhile back in LEGO land

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!RELEASED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For the love of Historic Simracing... a fully polished and updated AC Legends GT Classic 2.0 mod

How is it polished if several of the cars have incorrect shifting animations, driver hands don't touch the driving wheel and/or the hands clip through depending on the angle of the wheel rotation, the exhaust on the '67 Corvette isn't fully modeled, some of the cockpits have white spots with no texture work, the tyres on the 906 are not even completely round, the textures that are there are blurry, the Skyline 2000 GTR has the driver body clip through the seat, the left arm of the driver of both the '67 Corvette and Capri clip through the left door while turning, pop-up lights on the Pantera aren't animated/don't work, many of the sounds are re-used fonsecker and Kunos sounds and lastly all of the cars lack physical damage modeling and have incorrect UI badging/branding?

The mod barely consitutues as a 0.9. It's functional, but far from polished.

I bought it but I didn’t try it very much since the release Friday 22, just little shakedowns with the two cars on Silverstone and the 1999 « Indy » on the oval made by VRC.

Too short for giving to you my own feeling and, by the way, both cars are in version 1.1 now. ;-)
I’m currently working and I will examine the changes when I’ll be back home.

The Williams « Walrus » FW26 by MSF is out now !
