That's true indeed, it is something different, but i still would prefer something different 😂 😂
But in all honesty, it think they nailed a lot of combo's but you just can't please everyone,
personally..... i have a lot of fun with almost all of them, except for things like the LM55 at Daytona we got .... just not my thing, certainly on the pad were we had a real disadvantage if i remember correctly, and this feels very close to that 😂😂

But we will give it our best shot! 😁
Suzuka would had been so soon after the Super Formula event but I was hoping for a Gr. 3 Time Trial after the BOP changes. This one looks very boring to me, even worse than the Kart at the Indy track. With the Evo at Eiger I had no time to improve into gold but this time I wasn't interested to return. Maybe next week...

I thought it'd be a good idea to have another crack at Watkins Glen last night but I just ended up wasting more than 3 hours of my life. When your objective is soo close, you think it's going to be easy but that's not always the case. The treat is just out of reach and it's soo frustrating because you only need a few more centimetres to get it. My stupid kitty brain can't steer itself away from the reward and give up because I've come soo far already. Am I wrong for trying? Have I wasted my time? It just seems like a pointless exercise. I'm not gaining anything by beating @Jeje6410 so why do I even bother? I shouldn't be subjecting myself to this unnecessary torture but at the same time I want to improve. I want to better myself and push as hard as I can because if you're not moving forward, you're going backwards. I suppose the philosophy is sound but I don't know if I should apply it to a video game where there's no real punishment for coming up short. I'll still have my life, my home, my model cars and this computer that I'm using. Oh well. Guess I'll stay where I am right now.
The treat you're looking for is me ??!!! Why ? What more will it bring you ? As you say, try to have fun and improve yourself rather than trying to beat someone. You'll only improve if you have fun. I'm not trying to beat someone to improve myself and be proud of having beaten them. That's not how I've been able to improve my rankings since 2023 and be in the top 1000 or 2000 for a year and a half. But just by having fun. As you say, it's just a game.
Enjoy it my friend

I still have probably over an hour of copying the update left so I can't check. Is the new time trial within 1% of the top time for gold? The unofficial April fools trials have already gotten annoying going into the second year.

I'm not trying to beat someone to improve myself and be proud of having beaten them.
To be fair though, for many here (and I count myself among them), the position on their friends leaderboard is a source of motivation and cause for friendly mockery ;) ... as long as it doesn't dip into obsessive territory, there's nothing wrong with chasing some rabbits, is there?

Oh my, what have they done! 🤣

... that's assuming they sticked with the regular 3 % gold cut-off. It could look a bit less ridiculous if the lowered it to 1.5 % as they sometimes do.

Kart in Brands Hatch is my 3rd TT after Monza and Suzuka where I only got bronze and silver respectively. This time it was a very easy GOLD and I am at loss to explain why. I did put a lot more effort into Suzuka and truly wanted to get GOLD, but ended up being 0.9 sec off.

Taking things into perspective, I did learn something new while practicing at Brands Hatch on a kart. Finally managed to get 0:49:627 and be in top 1300 in the world.

What did I learn:
  • driving a kart with no assists
  • understood that you need to drift into some corners
  • realized that Brands Hatch has an unusual approach to track limits

I think I should have been able to get 0:49.5, but I did not have an access to the game the game the last 5 days. But equally, I do not know how it is possible to go below 49:3. I know where in theory I was loosing time and if I had skills, I would probably know how to do 49.3….but that is all. No idea where people find time to do 48.9 for example.

Another thing….this is a short track, so if I am 0.8 sec of the world record here it is probably 4-5 seconds in Suzuka.

Very Well done, that is Superb time and position! Not just for Newbee.
Kart without assists is fun, and I prefer it always without (not only due to purist nature).
But surprisingly first time I might state, that with Weak CSA kart felt more realistic. Ultimately for time grinding hotlaps CSA strong worked well saving many laps, which otherwise would end fatal after slipping on the razor's edge of stability at exits.
