Not that I have noticed, it just make it clearer, more vibrant, more alive really. The way it integrates with with CM is also impressive.

Not yet, but it is almost there according to the modder, the nice thing about it is the integration in CM makes going from day to night a one click affair and everything looks better than ever.

Meanwhile back in LEGO land

Once I seen this, I clicked on your links with the Quick Fast! I got to have this silliness in AC. Just to break up the seriousness of the sim. It's been a minute since I've installed mods in Assetto Corsa. I bet the link to RD's guide is probably covered by cobwebs. LOL

Thanks for pointing this out and sharing the links.

and don't ell me RD
Got a bias against Race Department? The only car mods that I've found to be near Kunos quality are from there. Everything that has been paid or freebie shared off FB groups has had numerous problems.

I may sound snotty about it, but there is not point in having mods if they're slap job conversions from Forza with little else thought put into them.

Assettoland should just form a Facebook group and post links to the car mods. It'll be easier than doing a website and pretty much unregulated. There are loads of FB groups that post links to paymods and none of them have ever been shut down. Facebook is the wild west.

I can't launch a race from CM, it always shows up as Race Canceled. I've done all sorts of stuff, going from a clean install, restoring original files, everything, I still can't do it. any suggestions? Tuesday I played it just fine.

I think I had that once but I don't know exactly what fixed it. It could have been going into the Kunos launcher and messing with video settings, even though I don't think anything looked like it was set incorrectly.

look if you still have acs.exe in your common/assetto corsa folder

That issue occurred with me just the other day. My issue was caused by a single car that was missing its data.acd file or data folder. CM did not alert me to the problem but I was able to focus on that particula car when other cars continued to work.

Yeah, bad cars and bad tracks can cause that.

Rename AssettoCorsa.exe to
AssettoCorsa_original.exe and then put Content Manager as a new AssettoCorsa.exe.

It will then act as an original launcher, including Steam overlay you'll still be able to run the original launcher from CM.

If this doesn't work, force launch 32bit and see it it loads the race.

I can't launch the Kunos one because it frezees when the metadata ia fully loaded.

Still there. One of the first things I did after I reinstalled the game.

Yeah, I'm going to delete all mods and try again. Fourtunately I have all of them saved

Just drag move them out to another folder on the same drive, nice and quick. Then I guess Kunos launcher would start ('cos you've just got too many mods for it to handle, right?). But it probably won't fix the problem from CM because only the selected car(s) and track are loaded in that case (I'm assuming that a hotlap with a Kunos car and track also gives the 'race canceled'?).

Precisely. I'll keep trying and finding some solutions

I had this recently. Don;t know if it was the issue but I changed my custom weather ( I think it was a night race with A4S spring selected??) back to ideal weather conditions and did a hotlap first. Then back to a race and everything was fine.

Yes, yes you do *insert hypnotic gif*. I'm not so bothered about cars unless the physics is spot on, but there are plenty of awesome track mods that make it well worth it. And VR. And ACC of course, when it lands :D
Content Manager by itself is enough of a reason.

Well, yes, but it needs content to manage, to really shine ;)

It's what all these pieces - including CrewChief, Sidekick, Type Pressure Engineer etc - put together provide. A very happy place :)

Mine used to work fine, then for some reason something changed one day and I now have to have Steam open first before clicking on the Race button in CM. Then something else happened where I also had to manually open SteamVR in order to get AC to launch at all.

I have to start Steam first - if I don't it starts the Kunos launcher instead. I think I'm using whatever the current 'recommended' method is in CM to start AC.

@AlvaroF - maybe try different launch methods from CM?

Honestly, I would point towards that being the reason. But then I changed back to the normal weather conditions provided by Kunos, deleted all files related to that restored the original files through Steam. Still the same issue. I'll try to do something like that.

When fixed I'll retry to install custom weathers again

Edit: your solution didn't work

Velos mods makes some interesting cars that are fun drive. I can't say too much about the accuracy but the Alfa Romeo Montreal is probably my favourite. I just wish they'd get the shifting animations correct. Why is that something almost every car author overlooks?

Because it's a monumental pain in the ass to do, I believe.
Paul Williams (Velo) does no modelling or animations, just performance tweaks and skins.
I often find myself disabling the shifting animations in mods if they are so badly out-of-synch. It can be quite an immersion-breaker in VR.
There's an easy tweak (can't remember what exactly) to get the driver to reach for the knob in anticipation of a shift so that the action looks a lot more natural, but a lot of modders just have the driver grabbing the stick at lightning speed once you perform the actual shift, which looks AWFUL.
