Actually 'motion blur' was never on, it must be something else on that page :)

I think others said already but most likely is TAA, which will make the game very blurry unless you compensate with a sharpening pass, like whacking up FidelityFX in graphic adjustments. This can make a very appealing image with unrivalled elimination of aliasing and even a very clear, sharp image but it does has its own downsides like visible ghosting. Sand traps can look awful and have this horrible kind of shimmer with it on too.

Also to note is that even if you had TAA set up nicely, some recent issues caused nasty blur through some vehicle windscreens with it enabled.

Good writeup, agree with it 100%. This is how I have it set up, as I can't stand jagged lines and this is the only way to completely get rid of them.

Just to add on to what you wrote:
- ghosting through windscreen can be solved with recent windscreen fix for older cars that have this problem. Posted a few times here alreasy
- ghosting in general can be strongly reduced with the right selection of pp filter, but not completely eliminated. Which is best for you, depends on your hardware and setup, for me best results with recently updated a3pp filter or with natural mod filter
- latest CSP updates give me problems as well, but for me with the screen brightness, Totally inconsistent. Sometimes too bright, sometimes to dark. So I rolled back to 1.59,which gives me best results.

I have Zolder 1967 and two recent versions, but that's all that exists, unless I terribly overlooked another version. If I did, please give me a sign.;)

There are even more versions of Zolder out there. Copying from Rainmakers list:

Nice! I have created something similar, except that I arranged by class, neither championship nor manufacturer because it works for me that way imo. Not perfect, it's a bit messed up, but I really like it. :)

EDIT: Changed to a better pic :dopey:
Wow! Very cool. How can I set category for cars and how to add icon for each category?

 The new version of the GT4 BMW is encrypted again :yuck: (only tried that one so far).
I 'm keeping the 0.23 version.

Haven't they always been encrypted, Ilja just added support for the in CM. New version works in CM Showroom here.

Thanks for the info, but:

I wrote that I HAD Zolder 1967 and two recent versions and that I did not know of other existing ones.

The ones I believe you copied from F1 Classic forum:
- Both 1967 are basically the same.
- The aspec7878 version is (I think) not available anymore.
- Mitja Bonca version: I used to have that, but deleted it after better versions came out (and the link is not working).
- Pascalwb is the most realistic.
- Terra21/Jim Lloyd version is the one that has been reworked by Reboot and that one has been improved by Norms (which is the second one I have installed, mainly because it's better optimised and thus better suited for races, while I use Pascalwb mostly for hotlapping).

So, not really more versions, right ?

Haven't they always been encrypted, Ilja just added support for the in CM. New version works in CM Showroom here.

v0.23 was the one I had installed and I could see them fine in showroom and my own previews.
Yesterday I installed the new version (taken from the Guerilla folder 05/06/2020 21:25).
Took all skins from my version and installed them in the new version.
A few previews were a bit different (darker) so I made new previews. That worked but I noticed that the wheels of almost all cars looked very weird and striped. So I opened showroom, all was well except the wheels. I closed the showroom, checked some skin files for anomalies. Opened the showroom again and there I had this great blue/white crystal cars (all skins). Cursed a little bit and removed the new version.

Since at least two guys here don't have the issue, I'm going to try again. I suppose you also downloaded from the folder or from a different source ?

We know, you said that several times!
I have more than 200 Rally cars and all of them were free. And they still are!
You don't want to have the work of searching them! You want all the work done by us, providing links to you!
You repeat yourself. A lot!

If some modders don't release their work free, don't expect we give to you, their work for free!! It is their choice!
I wonder how old are you. Because in my experience, your questions and posts are a bit infantile.

Have you something to hide? Your profile is blocked.

Have a nice day!

Wth is your problem? You obviously have some anger management issues. Who are you to rant him when moderator has said he's doing nothing wrong? Btw, I wonder how old are you, you sure behave like a 12 year old.

Hi ! :)

LilSki updated his famous "Watkins-Glen" to version1.1 !

Link on RD : https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/watkins-glen-international.20204/

*********IMPORTANT*********
I highly suggest you remove any previous versions before installing 1.1. I did away with the "endurance" layouts and just left the generator lights up all the time.
So it is back down to 4 layouts with all being capable of night racing. Also the install process is back to a standard install. No more MODS folder or custom shaders required.

Update 1.1
Bug fix/Art pass update on WGI to bring it more in line with the style of Road America in some areas.

  • Fixed holes between road and T1 apex curb. You can now properly use the first stage of the curb with minimal penalty.
  • A strip of road on the outside of T1, T8, and T10 exit curbing will not cause a slowdown. This will allow you to hop the curbing a bit without penalty.
  • New road textures
  • New grass textures
  • CSP Grass FX enabled. Legacy grass is still there for non CSP users.
  • Curbs made brighter
  • Exit T1 spectator mount added
  • Blimp and banner plane from RA so when using CSP they will fly around in a pattern.
  • Night lighting should be fixed and come on in the evening as they should.
  • Probably more fixes I can't remember as it has been a while.

It's been a couple of years since I've had to do this, so somebody please remind me: where's the data adjustment to ensure a car's steering wheel moves 1:1 with your FFB wheel?
This nice little hard-top Miata has this issue. I think CM normally resolves it, but not in this case.

Edit: fixed - see post a few posts down.

BMW 0.40 isnt encrypted for me...

Haven't they always been encrypted, Ilja just added support for the in CM. New version works in CM Showroom here.

OK here's the deal.
After re-installing I get the same issue.
But: I found out why, though I don't really understand how it works.
To be able to try both cars without losing too much time (and feel) I always rename the car folder by adding a letter o (old) or n (new) so I can switch cars fast (obviously removing the extra o or n when using the car.
While doing so and installing my skins from the old to the new version I made previews and checked showroom probably (in fact surely because I just reproduced it) with the extra 'n' added to the car folder which gives me this result (only the wheel, see later why):

encrypted.png

When removing the extra 'n' from the car folder, it shows like this:

new.png

Which is 'better', apart from the fact that it should really look more like on the previous version, like this (same skin, no changes made):

old.png

This happens with all skins, be it the ones that came with the 0.4 version, or the ones I have for the 0.23 version.
No matter which skin, the difference between the 0.4 and 0.23 is always there.

Maybe not so bad with dark rims but see the result with lighter coloured ones:

Unfortunately, like you said, there is no 1971 - 1984 layout of Zolder, the layout use for the Belgium GP during that time, so sad!
(last time the long layout of spa was used it's in 1970, then the first time spa come back in F1 with a layout almost like the actual one it's in 1983, but beetween 1970 and 1983, the track used by F1 for Belgium GP was Zolder [some races took place at Nivelle too, but only 3 if i remind well], but that layout was different than the ones used before and the actual one, hope one day, we could enjoy it with all the ancient billboard, buildings and feel)

Just to thanks you a lot for your work on old F1 from late 60's and early 70's, I try the Lotus 49B, Lotus 49C and Ferrari 312/68, I must say that i like them more than the Kunos Lotus 49, Lotus 25 and Ferrari 312/67...
Since the begining, the kunos ones feel like the steering bushes are too loose and it result that the front end feel unstable, it was not the case with such cars at that time, they were better than what we got in all sim, your physics for those cars are really much accurate, don't know where you got your datas, but please continue to dig, you got a gold vein!
And, must be said, the cockpits are really beautiful and full of details!
In few words, for me, your late 60's and early 70's F1's cars are the best and the funniest available actually for AC!
Hope you will make more cars from that era one day to complete the grid!
Thanks a lot for all your work!

On question to physics markers here:
With which soft you create your engine datas? I want to make a new engine for the 905, but sadly I can't figure how to do it.

For old sms there was simple easy engine creator but with Assetto it seems that have have to be hand made.
Same it's possible to downgrade an existing one ? to go the rpm down and power aswell?

Thanks @PepperoniAC24

Re: Charlotte AI for those looking at it. It was the narrow AI path I had made, so I moved the grid to the back straight where I can fit all the cars within the lane. The conservative AI path is required on Ovals to keep the AI in check.
But that was only for this track, the AI stalled starts is still a problem, just that this track was misleading us.

I'll need to redo all the layouts so no update just yet.

New mapping on the wheels, so they need to update their skins if they are colored

Engine curves here.

Thank you mate
I must be a little stupid to understand how it works haha

I´ve tried it out and -mm- the grass looks way too oversaturated, more bright green that dark green. Kinda disappointed with that track. What´s your opinion guys?

I'm also disappointed with the colours. I have already bought some tracks from Sergio and they always turned out well, but this one, I'm not going to buy it.

I remembered.
In data\car.ini change the value for STEER_LOCK to 450 here:

Code:
[CONTROLS]
FFMULT=4.210
STEER_ASSIST=1.000
STEER_LOCK=450 ; Real car's steer lock from center to right
STEER_RATIO=15   ; Steer ratio
LINEAR_STEER_ROD_RATIO=0.0018

STEER_LOCK was originally set to 850 which would be 1,700 degrees of steering angle. 450 gives the correct 900 degrees.
