A week ago or so there was a discussion here about creating a vao.patch for a track. That way I did learn, that everybody is able to create a vao-patch for a track without any complicated software. I have downloaded the app CustomTracksBakery from here: https://assettocorsamods.net/threads/creating-a-vao-patch.1858/ . I also found a video named "Como crear un Vao.Patch | Para Circuitos Assetto Corsa" on Youtube (I dont understand spanish, but it is easy to see what he is doing) about applying the app.

Since then I have checked all my tracks for vao-patches (with the help of BLM-lights). I was very surprised how many of my tracks dont have a patch, I would say much more than 50%.

Now my question: Are some of you doing the same? And when yes: Do you also use CustomTracksBakery or another app? Is there a better solution?

Sorry for being late to the discussion but... Totally agreed! I couldn't sleep because the race was freaking good! It made me want to do my own 24h of Le Mans in AC!

And that makes me ask the following: What's the best LeMans for AC that has day-to-night transitions?

It was brilliant, watched the TV coverage and bit on youtube.

Also worth a mention was WTCR e race at salzbergring, it was eurosport and very good and well done. Was using raceroom, which is a sim that i criminally ignore these days...like all of them bar AC..

Glad you like it. Reg. the stutters: I recently (1 day ago) discovered that CamTool2 is very FPS hungry, even when it is just ticked in CM as "active". So better check that one before altering any settings graphical wise. Since I have updated the app with the latest stable patch it runs as silk again. 60FPS stable with 25 cars on the grid.

I´ve learned alot with apps beeing not that polite to the framerate....

Yeah i don't use camtool for that reason although i love it, so may revisit that at some point.
It was not an app causing stuttering, it must have been something i had in CSP which your preset removed and its spot on now.

I backed everything up just encase, but for sure i'll just use your preset now.

I use CustomTracksBakery. I have noticed though, that the trees on some tracks look really bad after the VAO. I haven't experimented much with it though. Perhaps there is a parameter that can be used with CustomTracksBakery that excludes doing the trees if they are inside of the main (or single) kn5. Any VAO experts here know?

I need some advice about SOL.

Disabled the sol app, installed new alpha 5 sol (past 4 files to game folder and overwrited when asked), exit CM, launched CM. enabled again sol app.
But after going on track and opened sol config, the pages are the same with the previous changes I made.
One odd thing aswell, since last sol I had, is that the page 17 is different than the one you all have.
This is mine.

Thats a little bit dumb, I didn't do this to annoy people. This is part of a code to get multiple versions of Sol working, which is imo important for the next version of Sol 1.6. So Sol 1.5 can work in parallel. Just get a legal copy...

I released a new alpha. If you just made an alternate installation of a legal install, you will find the solution to get it running without problems. But a standard steam install is the base of the support work....

Ah, man, sorry didn't mean to jump down your throat. I don't have multiple installs. I only have one legal copy of AC running and I did not have an issue with Alpha 5 which is what I was saying. I was trying to figure out what everyone was trying to fix.

I'm still not sure if you're saying folks here are pirating AC or what. But I'm not having any issues with mine, so I'll leave this alone. You guys can discuss further

I haven't gotten that far. I've only experienced day-to-night-to-day in ACC and PC2.

Many, many thanks for your work on these tracks - they're a lot of fun.
One thing that lets them down is the physics-defying support cables on some of the banners that span the track. There's no way cables would ever form this shape, and if they were just straight point-to-point they'd look a lot more realistic. I took a quick look but couldn't isolate them in Object Inspector (it's a bit hit-and-miss in VR) so couldn't tell if a simple texture swap would solve it.

Yep, still can't quite get over it.
It's insane, you can drive around a GTS track (complete with GT signage) using a PCars 1 car (with slightly mad on the screen banner) whilst the AI is in forza cars....... frankly...quite bizarre..

After searching and failing to find a late 80s Le Mans with the Mulsanne straight still intact I learned how to make a simple edit of Jim Lloyd and terras Le Mans 1991 with Jim's permission today. Link is below incase anyone else wants to race the late 80s groupc cars around here as I have been wanting to do.

Found a few issues I don't know how to fix yet, feel free to fix and improve, I will try next time I get chance.

I fixed that and posted, @Masscot. The alpha method on all alpha textures were borked. It's some where in here.
